Thankyou for the tutorial....I have a problem, when I create the brows with paint FX hair they do not stay attached to the surface...the surface was made paintable. As soon as character or surface moves the hairs stay floating where they where created. I've tried all sorts of fixes foe this ie constraints, parenting ETC. etc but nothing works. Could you tell me how you have things set up for your tutorial....thankyou
hi thanks for the wonderful tutorial! may i know if i could use the same method to make eyelashes stick to my model? i did the exact same steps but when i pull at the eyelid, the eyelash kinda deforms??
yeah, wrap deformers work best when the thing getting deformed is right up against the thing driving it (like tight fitting clothes or eyebrows) so the way eye lashes stick out so far means that a wrap deformer usually won't work very well (like you're experiencing). If you're using joints to drive the eye blink, you can skin the curves to the eyelid joints. If you're using blendshapes to drive the blink, you'll have to get a little trickier with the rigging. My preferred method is to skin the curves for the upper eyelid to one joint and the lower eyelid to a separate joint, and use those joints to both drive the blink and attach the lashes. Good luck!
When I converted the painteffects to curves, my hair was gone...well, turned into a few black lines..and when I deleted the strokes, the hair was gone. Is it something with my viewport? And its not at all clear how you trimmed the hair...I dont think this tutprial will work for me..plus I need xgen hair for arnold. Your brows turned out nice, though, thanks
