Love the blue, it's definitely a convertible, no B pillars is legit bad ass, wheels look perfect and can't believe they got rid of that awesome body line down the side.

It's really weird that this guy prefers a standard exhaust over the amazing M Performance. Personal preference I guess. M Performance sounds miles better than the standard one IMO. Much louder, way deeper and more characterful. Fantastic sound.

I think that the M4 looks brilliant, sounds amazing and I agree with Jacob because the coupe versions of the cabriolets are compared so the cabriolets should be compared as well.
If the roof drops, it's a convertible, whether it's soft top or hard top, there's no way around it. I prefer a hardtop, soft tops begin to tear after a bit and patches on the tops just looks hideous. Great review as usual, keep up the good work boys.
@TheStraightPipes I agree with Jakub. The pillarless coupe part of it it is great. In addition, living in an area with snow in the winter this top beats a fabric top every time, and no need to store a separate hardtop in the garage (or have someone help to remove it). I prefer the rakish roof of the hard top convertible to the sloping rear window of the coupe, too.
Love the side profile of this car. Love, love, love. And, this front end looks better than Bimmer's latest redesigns, which look less aggressive and more blah. I also think this is the best blue in the industry.
Just got the 2020 M340i. I had the chance to get the M4 but I passed. The M340i is so much newer feeling and has all the new tech. And feels almost as fast.
Love this car, prefer hardtop verts to soft top for security and interior noise top up. These colors look good but my spec would be black or a green with the peanut butter interior. Good review guys!

Living in Calgary, I've always loved the idea of a hard top convertible. You see guys here driving all winter with their convertibles and a hard top makes sense to me. However I am excited for the new 4 series convertible since it is a soft top!

I waited for the new 3, then grabbed an 18 when they released a few gen end ZHPs. (Mine isn't actually a ZHP because it's a Northeast Xdrive but looks the same with staggered 19s). I honestly prefer the old style and old school interior. Especially the gages. Added Dinan air and tune and couldn't be happier.

This maybe a little late for a comment, but the cs has a stock f8x exhaust, the m4 in this video has the m performance exhaust (that exhaust is a collab between bmw and akrapovic). The bigest sound differences between all bmw’s is the software tune.

lol the jerking is real. Mines does that and it's an original M4 from 2015. You either need to feather the accelerator or just floor it. M4 is one of the best looking BMW's on the road today. Even the brand new 8 series looks quite similar. I agree with regards to the convertible shape. I prefer the coupe. Looks better and you get a carbon roof.
I like this convertible top as you can park it anywhere and you don't have to worry about the car being broken into as you would if you had a soft top convertible.

Dudes I really love your videos, but it ALWAYS triggers me when you talk about the transmission. ZF is a manufacturer, not a type of transmission! ZF also produces dual clutch transmissions, not only torque converters...
Hard top convertible is the way to go, I love it it's so much more versatile, specifically in countries where we have clear seasonal differences... conclusion soft top a no no, unless you live in the Caribbean or alike...

I have the exact feeling about the rear slope (also in the previous gen, E92/3) The coupe looks so much better than it kills all of the cabrio's appeal for me.
easy question, would the M4 convertible look better with a soft top or a hard top; simple hard top, soft tops rarely ever have the quite right shape especially with its structural supports. This not to mention better noise insulation and better security.
There are a few VERY easy solutions to avoid the lurch.. I have NEVER had lurch as bad as shown in the video!! One option is commit to a aggressive throttle position.. and apply it quickly. If you go strait to 50% pedal and do so quickly you will never have this issue.. AND you will fit BMW driver stereotype :P The other option is starting in second gear. or switching to second as soon as you sense the car may start lurching. :) Btw - on the hard top shape they never redesigned the roof from the previous gen E93.. The top fits previous gen correctly but the lines don't quite match the new. so I with Yuri on this one!! Keep up the great work, loev the videos!! :)

Jakub’s right: hard top is best of both worlds. Keeps temperature during off season, but still have same convenience.
