Another great review sir, please upload completed reviews when you can! Your last review convinced me to purchase the 4S Mojave. I have been on the fence between this and the upcoming kraton 6S.
I'm looking forward to this! Was hoping you'd get one of these.. Corally cars are awesome. I have an Asuga, Sketer and Muraco and find them so good. Up the voltage with a hobbywing program card to 7.4v and the servo is great.. I just got my Asuga so haven't got used to it after only 2 outings ( great so far) but my Muraco is INCREDIBLE with Louise Pirate truggy tyres.. I could drive it all day.. My other rig is a 6S EXB kraton with max8 combo and i find the Corally cars just as good and even better value.. Also agree with others that 4S is IMO all you need.. Love your work Craig..

G'day from Vic :) I guess I hadn't really thought about it before but you're right, channels that don't show failures must surely be cutting at least some of them out. I have a lot of things break here and showing it is part of the RC model ownership experience, so why not share it so it's useful to others? Hmm. Great review! My Kronos was a good truck, just broke a lot more than my Kraton. The plastic was a bit brittle. Try it on 4s. I enjoyed my Kronos far more on 4s, and it had the same motor and ESC as yours. It’s far more controllable, and is actually almost like running most other brands on 6s.
Thanks, a few people have said this now. I have actually come around to liking it on 6S now I'm used to that hair trigger on the throttle, but I will give 4S a go too. Just want to get those diffs refilled and un-leaky if possible first! Cheers
You're killing me, Smalls. KILLING ME. Yet another car I'm adding to my "do want" list. Probably still way too fast for me, but it looks like a solid car. What a great review. If you're looking to convince people that they need this car, I think you nailed it. I'm wondering, would this benefit from a gyro? from what I saw in the driving, it looks like a gyro along with as you said a heavier centre diff oil is what it needs for best handling. What do you think? As for those mounting tabs that hold the wing on? I bet you could design and 3D print your own, might be easier, faster, and cheaper than trying to find and order them from the manufacturer. Could even build in some improvements to make them more durable. Worth a mention, I thought.
Thanks :) The car made it pretty easy, it's super tough! Gyro? Nah, I don't think so. Center diff makes all the difference, really it does. I didn't have a problem with keeping it straight when I put my mind to it, which adds to the satisfaction of driving it, more than anything. I'm not sure about designing 'better' mounting tabs than the injection-molded ABS plastic, or whatever it is, but it's certainly something to consider. Maybe I'll try it!

Well, Craig, as always, it was an awesome review. For $419, I think it's a good buy depending on what you want. I have a Traxxas Hoss for my Basher. But if I wanted something extreme, I would sure be looking at Team Corraly. However, like you, I would be looking at the Kraton also. For me, I would go with the Kraton 6S.
Craig, I did some shopping around. I just found an E Revo for $550 new from Traxxas. Of course, out of stock! In my humble opinion, I would buy that over any of the others, including the Traxxas Max and so on. I'm not a Traxxas fan boy, but in my opinion, their the ones that started the speed game a long time ago, and it began with the Revo 2.2 Nitro machine. Cheers, Mate!!
@Noizy-Boy fair enough. I'd personally be avoiding the older traxxas designs. I've had em and I know where and how they break. I'll take advantage of the newer designs out there for better durability - though I respect and understand your choice!
It definitely is. I'm just critically low on time currently. But it's coming. Have been talking with Team Corally just this week and I'm looking forward to doing the follow up.
Common complaint on Corally,s is not coming with serrated wheel nuts, you either need to change out to serrated nuts or thread locker on the stock nuts. As you have found the battery straps are way to thin, a lot preffer running 4s which really makes the truck not so crazy & more plesent to drive. They are also pretty fast on 4s, as you have more useable power right through out the throttle range. For a more fast ground hugging vehicle the Asuka buggy is also a great choice, as it dosen't constantly wheelie on 6s, due to the smaller wheels.
We're discussing what it's like out of the box. Gotta start somewhere and by comparing stock cars, we can make useful comparisons. Not everyone will tune a car, either out of budget constraints, not knowing any better, or just wanting to keep it stock. Look at it this way: I present what it's like in stock form. That already gives you some good ideas on what you might want to change yourself. And that's the point of a review video, to a fair extent! Cheers
I just bought a Kagama a few weeks ago, and i broke the wing first run...lol was easy to fix. I am new to rc cars but i love this car, but it is brutally fast. I had to learn to drive it much different then my first car (traxxas slash). Love them both. cheers

Just ran my new kagama at our local track, it runs a lot nicer on 4s and smaller race truggy wheels but those battery straps are a joke. I like how team corally sell heavy duty straps like they know its an issue. I also had issues with the esc going into over temp shutdown while running 6s with the stock tyres which my mate with the asuga had the same problem, also its definitely worth chucking a fan on the motor, it gets hot without it.
iv got a kagama you need to do some upgrades tyres is a good upgrade the wing break easy wheel nuts put some sedated ones on and battery tray needs a 3rd strap on it and iv put 200,000 centre diff oil the car is a total different beast its awesome for the money
I just wanted to ask about the battery tray size. I plan to get a Chnl battery that is 63mm tall and it says the Kagama battery tray height is only 55mm. Do you think that battery would fit?
I think you'll be okay, but you'll want to get better Velcro straps. Something strong. Height isn't really a problem in the car, aside from affecting centre of gravity.
@@RCTNTThanks for your answer.👍 What do you think the value is if you compare the Kraton 6S Exb to the Kagama? Right now in my country, the Kraton is only like 60 euros more than the Kagama. Wich do you think is better value? I'm not gonna be jumping much.
@Themlpg73 I haven't had the EXB yet but I'm looking forward to checking it out. Certainly, my V3 BLX has been exceptional, though I blew the rear diff gears recently. Replacements were cheap and I've driven that thing hard for some years at this point. I broke a few things on the Kagama sooner than on the Kraton, but it was also a lot cheaper and I understand their gears are stronger. Have you considered a buggy if you're not going for big air? It'll handle better again than these things if you're mostly staying on the ground. The Spark and Talion both look great. I'm going to review an ever cheaper 6S buggy, the Maverick Strada XB. Crazy value, by the look of it. But between the two you asked about, I think go with the one you like the look of better. You'll be happy with either of them, I think.
These look like solid truggies and I'm thinking of getting one however I'm put off by that screeching loud drivetrain. Maybe the pinion mesh needs adjusting or this how they are?
It is loud but this is how they are. Their gear strength is better than traxxas and arrma, I understand. When it's all metal, you get noise. It's an epic model and easy to recommend.
My mesh seems okay. It's half a mm of movement began spur and pinion, when you jiggle the spur. That's about perfect. Could be my mic setup, perhaps. I used a separate mic for the car that day when filming, so maybe it just picked it up better than the camera mic on other videos. I haven't watched any videos on this car yet other than one Talbot did a long time ago, so who knows.
You have done another very good review. In watching the truck run, it reminds of when I go to a club race and watch the truggies. Many of the guys are out of control. It looks like a lot if fun. Would it better on 4S? I think people in my area of the states would by an Arrma or Traxxas because of parts availability.
I've seen it said in the comments it might be better on 4S. That could be true - you'd get better run time out if it too. But I think the first step will be to change out that centre diff oil for a thicker fluid, it really needs it. Then? We'll see!
I expect so, yes. My video was about 50 minutes long and I had to cut a lot of it to make it a reasonable length, but I covered programming in the full version. Short answer, yes.
@@RCTNT I did it just because I got tired of it unplugging itself during hard bashes. I didn't want to fiddle with the plastic clips that are supposed to hold the wires.
@@RCTNT Yeah I don't know why they don't use serrated nuts but I'm sure they have some reason. I use a little bit of vibra tight thread locker VC3. It's a reusable threadlocker that works pretty well for that sort of thing.
@DoRC thanks for the tip. I've just got serrated nuts to replace the weird stock smooth ones. Thread lock makes sense, but it can hurt the plastics on the wheel. Your brand is one I'm not familiar with, I'll have to look into it!
@@jagergerg9771 yeah that would definitely help. They don't even have to be that fine of lines. The ones from M2C use like five or six large lines and it works fine
Probably maybe it does, in a speed run. But otherwise, it's main job seems to be protecting the body. That's still a fine job though, so I guess the answer is yes?
Imo this truck and all high powered RC's really need a programmable radio so you can set up EXPO on the throttle response, it wouid make it way more controllable in the air etc, just a thought!!!
You know it's funny but expo is the last thing I'd personally want for better air control. It's the one situation where I want direct and linear throttle response. But that aside, I would love to see expo on the radio, yes!
@@RCTNT I haven't tested EXPO personally on a truck so I could be wrong but I fly RC planes and I know EXPO helps tremendously on control surfaces and throttle control, It helps keep from torque rolling into the ground, don't ask how I know 😂🤣 I've heard racers talking about using EXPO also, that's where I actually got the idea... Back in my days of racing there was no such thing lol
It's a very useful option to have and I often use it to fine tune rigs (or sometimes even to help band-aid over problems on comp day like a failing motor or whatever. Great to have 👍
I didn't notice it being louder in particular than any other similar spec vehicle I have here, so I guess maybe the video? Some cars can be really loud, but this is normal enough I didn't notice it.
I don't like it when people keep saying... "I'm barely touching the throttle" then its over and over again... When we all know that the initial throttle percentage can be a tested within the electronics from the factory. But what we do like is when you actually show us the full throttle... Smh
I showed you full throttle too, but the intent is to show what is like from the factory while also conveying the driving experience. You know, the fun part. I get you disapprove of how I've done it, but if you got the idea of what it's like to drive, then that's mission successful in my book. How would you do it instead?
@@RCTNT I reckon is something cowboys use in the old westerns, and I tied that into corally, aka corral, where you park said horse. Yeah sorry, I'm stressed to the max brain dead from all my christmas orders.... I literally just added 10 1/2 to 28 and came up with 29 1/2....ARRRGH lol
I did wonder about it, but we're going to need to toughen this thing up a bit so it can play with the Kraton. Starting with battery straps, oh dear! It sure has some bite though, they're not shy with the power system in this thing. It is very impressive for the price, that's for sure.
Gotta watch thunder rc video on this he be doing 40 to 60ft jumps with this brand rc and it’s definitely tough for it from his videos , I watch a lot of you guys videos before I make any purchases
I just got a MAXX widemaxx I could have bought a SLEDGE but i just love the look of a true TRUCK! not the truggy’s though they seem to haul @ss will see how i enjoy the MAXX.
Sure, and we went over it before driving to some extent - but part of the point of the initial drive is to get the unboxed experience on camera, as many will do this themselves. I can demonstrate what folks can expect out of the box. Some cars need zero tuning and some need a lot. I'd not expect this car to need much, being a basher rather than a racer. But tuning is usually worthwhile, yeah.
I did test and adjust them already. I found with less preload, it's banging on the ground too much. Without changing the springs and oil, it's about as good as I could make it for the first video.
30 odd years ago Corally used to be a premium brand, making an expensive range of off road racing buggies. Oh how the mighty have fallen now producing a RTR basher.
Did not know that, thank you for the info. I wouldn't look down on an RTR though, it's what sells today vastly more than kits. I've heard several industry guys say this now. Seems to be what people want.
If you think "premium brand" and "RTR" are somehow mutually exclusive, you sound like you need to learn more about modern RC cars. I own models from the likes of Losi, Arrma, FTX, Corally, Associated, and HPI... and most of them will destroy all but the most exotic kit cars. A friend of mine has plenty of Tamiya and Kyosho kit cars, and sure, they look pretty good and have nostalgia value, but they feel (and perform) like toys compared to any half decent RTR.
I was with you for the first half. If you think about RTR models, they are all kits at some point, it's just who is building them varies between a manufacturer and contracted workers or the end customer. Instructions and process obviously will vary too, but all cars need to be built at some stage. I've just finished the Tekno SCT410 2.0 Kit and it'll be a ripper. I also built a few Tamiyas recently and they need to be driven with care. I think the bottom line is what the people will buy. I love kits and I love RTR vehicles too, same as you by the sound of it! Cheers
@RCTNT .... yeap, I agree with everything you said there buddy. I was just wanting to point out to the original poster that Corally shouldn't be considered as having "fallen" just because they make RTR's. I have a Radix 4 and an Asuga, and they are both very fast, very tough, racing style buggies. I'm certainly not anti-kit or anything; I guess I was just thinking of the numbers involved. For every high performing kit you can get (like your latest Tekno project), I bet there are 10 times as many RTR offerings that will offer very high performance that will satisfy 99% of RC buyers. I get that for the 1% that do genuine competitive racing, top end kits will still be the norm 👍
I hadn't noticed a rattle but whatever it is, it can't be too hard to fix. Maybe some tape under the body holes or something, I dunno. In any case, bottom line, you're enjoying your Kraton, so that's the correct answer! Enjoy :D
Mesh is ok, I thought that too, but it's fine. Maybe it's just resonance through the chassis from whatever mix of metal it is in the spur gear. Some of them are pretty loud.

@@RCTNT Thanks, I've since watched a few more kagama vids and they all sound quieter than yours. Maybe your mesh is bad 🤔
They even made nice little on road 1/12 scale “ flat chassis “ . Always had the reputation of expensive.
Then? We'll see!
@@RCTNT It will be interesting to see what kind of difference that will make. Can the parameters on the esc be adjusted?
I expect so, yes. My video was about 50 minutes long and I had to cut a lot of it to make it a reasonable length, but I covered programming in the full version. Short answer, yes.
I had to feed the wires through the center tower on my kraton EXB. This is a good looking car.
Good to know. I guess they're all going to be similar.
@@RCTNT I did it just because I got tired of it unplugging itself during hard bashes. I didn't want to fiddle with the plastic clips that are supposed to hold the wires.
Best basher to have come out in the last year! Yeah those wheel nuts are stupid though.
They are a bit, eh! I've got replacements for them now. Great car though!
Get a Dremel and make some lines in the nuts
@@jagergerg9771 yeah that would definitely help. They don't even have to be that fine of lines. The ones from M2C use like five or six large lines and it works fine
Awesome video and honest review, made in Belgium with excellent quality. traxxas and arrma are way over-rated
I need to look at more from this brand. They're very good.
Not being a basher guy in a few decades, does the wing make much a difference?
Probably maybe it does, in a speed run. But otherwise, it's main job seems to be protecting the body. That's still a fine job though, so I guess the answer is yes?
first thing i do on any corally car is change the battary straps.. had way to many of them fail so far..
Heh yes, lesson learned!
Check out the redcat machete 4s or 6s really fun 1/6 scale ripper.
When it gets to Australia in April or May next year I definitely will!
Great to have 👍
I started laughing so hard when you said its still cartwheeling haha
It's one of my special talents
Does it squeal that loud or is it just the video that makes
It sound like that?
I didn't notice it being louder in particular than any other similar spec vehicle I have here, so I guess maybe the video? Some cars can be really loud, but this is normal enough I didn't notice it.
@@RCTNT right on, I’m shocked at all these folks saying run it on 4S..
Where’s the thrill in that??? Isn’t that what a skeeter is for??
There's probably a time and place for 4s. But I like 6,yeah
As others have said, they are actually very nice on 4s.
Thanks, I'll definitely check that out next :)
I don’t envy you having to find all the diffs to seal them up
Ah it won't be so bad. I'm really liking this thing overall, especially for the price! We'll get it dialed in.
10:10 you reckon? Alright tex, did you park your horse out by the corral? (I had to say SOMETHING, you know me!)
Ya still lost me... 10:10, "alright, the tyres are clean, she's never been run!" ...I missed the reference, sorry MC!
@muskokamike127 well, I'm glad you're busy at least! Take care of yourself and get through it 😎
Yet another Arrma killer!
I did wonder about it, but we're going to need to toughen this thing up a bit so it can play with the Kraton. Starting with battery straps, oh dear! It sure has some bite though, they're not shy with the power system in this thing. It is very impressive for the price, that's for sure.
Always tighten up the wheels soon as u take any rc out the box
Thanks Jay, I did. Smooth nuts come loose.
@@RCTNT yea real fast 💨
Gotta watch thunder rc video on this he be doing 40 to 60ft jumps with this brand rc and it’s definitely tough for it from his videos , I watch a lot of you guys videos before I make any purchases
I don't doubt it's up to the task, yeah!
Thunder RC is insane one of the best bashers on TH-cam, I think he’s the best with his landings.
@@jagergerg9771 yes most definitely 👍🏾
I think for your uses, it would do better for you on 4s
Could be, yeah. Though I do enjoy the thing on 6s!
I just got a MAXX widemaxx I could have bought a SLEDGE but i just love the look of a true TRUCK! not the truggy’s though they seem to haul @ss will see how i enjoy the MAXX.
Before you serieus drive, change the car, it has probebly no difoils you have to look at everything. Dampers camber etc
Tires to bouncey, shocks to stiff. Adjust it.
I did test and adjust them already. I found with less preload, it's banging on the ground too much. Without changing the springs and oil, it's about as good as I could make it for the first video.
@@RCTNT i see I’ll check other reviews interesting thanks
I might try moving the shock mount points to the furthest apart holes. For a start, that might help. We'll see.
Remember guys, always "check your nuts"
And make sure they're serrated. Wait a sec.
@@RCTNT 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yooooo..
Asuga!!!
Maybe. If I want a balls-to-the-wall buggy I'll be looking into it!
We're on the same page, yep 😎
I dunno that thing just sounds too loose. Rattles too much for me. I still really like my Kraton.
I hadn't noticed a rattle but whatever it is, it can't be too hard to fix. Maybe some tape under the body holes or something, I dunno. In any case, bottom line, you're enjoying your Kraton, so that's the correct answer! Enjoy :D
🖐😁👍
Sounds like its got the worlds tightest mesh
Mesh is ok, I thought that too, but it's fine. Maybe it's just resonance through the chassis from whatever mix of metal it is in the spur gear. Some of them are pretty loud.
4s
I've heard this is the way. Gotta say tho, I do enjoy this thing on 6S!
Your mesh is off that’s why it’s so loud! I hate when that happens!
Could be. I'll check it out when I do the teardown on a live stream in January (December is already chock full!)
Cheers!
