[Intro] We all want love How many single ladies out there, looking for love tonight? (Wooo!) Yeah, woo that sadness out There's more where that came from Ladies, I know what you want-want-want [Verse 1] You want a guy that's sweet, a guy that's tough A feminist who likes to pay for stuff The kind of guy that gets along with your friends Without being attracted to any of them A good boy, a bad boy; a good bad boy; A half good, half bad, half boy Loves your brothers, sensitive but not weak and Is a great lover, calls your mother on the weekend [Pre-Chorus 1] Now you might think that this guy only exists in your mind Guess what: You're right! [Chorus] If you want love, lower your expectations a few Because Prince Charming would never settle for you~ If you want love, just pick a guy and love him And if he's got a thing for feet, say: "Fuck it, sweep me off 'em" [Interlude] Now the good thing is that at least men have very realistic expectations for women... He said, sarcastically setting up a second verse in a comedy song [Verse 2] You want a girl that's nice, a girl that's not Obsessed with her looks, but is insanely hot The kind of girl that you can show to your folks Loves the movies that you like and always laughs at your jokes A real girl, a hot girl; a really hot girl; A brand new, really hot, real doll Wants to impress you, doesn't care if you notice And only ever uses you to tickle her throat with [Pre-Chorus 2] Now you might think that this girl only exists in your mind But she's real, but last week she died [Chorus] If you want love, lower your expectations a lot You might think your dick is a gift, I promise it's not If you want love, just pick a girl and love her Then whip out your dick and let the girl you love decline the offer [Bridge] I don't want a neat freak, I don't want a slob Somebody with bedhead and a dead-end job 'Cause I won't settle for less than perfect We want perfect children, a perfect life A perfect husband or a perfect wife But deep down we know, we don't deserve it But- [Outro] We all deserve love, even on the days when we aren't our best 'Cause we all suck, but love can make us suck less We all deserve love, it's the very best part of being alive And I would know I just turned 25
I love how Bo subverts expections. You expect him to tell the guys their dream girl doesn't exisit, like he did with the girls, but instead we get "You might think this girl only exisit in your mind... shes real, but last week she died."
Bo is honestly a comedic and just all round genius, he makes these songs and disguises them with comedy, but they all honestly have really great meanings to them. A lot of the songs on Inside are honestly some of the most hard hitting lyrics I've heard in a while, and I think it's great that he's able to do that while also not taking himself all that seriously
I genuinely think the final message is great. We're all deeply flawed people, but love is a force that can change us for the better. It really is the best part of life.
I love the ending. I like to think he is making fun of younger people in their teens and twenties who think they're all smart and big shotty even though they've only been alive less than a quarter of a century. It also implies that, despite making all these seemingly wise and superior observations about life, he still doesn't know what's going on any more than the rest of us. He was only 25 and he knew he still had a lot to learn and grow from.
To be fair age is no garuntee of experience, theres people who live their whole life with no troubles and others who have a lifetime of troubles in 20 years..
We all suck but love can make us suck less. I’ve been listening to this song like every day for 3 years, an absolute banger. I’m beyond ready for a new special from him

As much as I miss Bo’s comedy and style, and wish he would come back... it’s so much more important that he is healthy and well. Thank goodness for the content we have 🙌🏼
TBH being a comedian seems like a really difficult job in 2020. You can't have crowds. If your joke isn't offensive in 2020, it might be in 2030 and then you will have to apologize for the joke you made 10 years ago
Story Time: Saw the "Is there anything better than pussu? Yes a really good book" vine a long time ago and that was the first time I saw Bo Burnham. Then Thomas Sanders did a short video with this song transitioning in between all his characters and I thought, "This song is great where's the rest?" So I looked up the full version and thought, "That was amazing 😂, wait... he does full shows?!" And that's how he became my favorite comedian.
Similar story: My friend showed me "Im Bo Yo" when it first came out and i thought it was hilarious. Watched a bunch more of his videos but then sort of left it alone forever. I always youtube stuff with comedians, not even necessarily stand up shows or performances. I was going through a major Patrice Oneal phase (still am) and found him on the show The Green Room with Paul Provenza. I liked the show and watched more episodes and Bo was on one. He was great on the show and performed "Art is dead" and it blew my mind. Googled him and seen he had 2 specials on Netflix so i watched those and absolutely loved them but even then it wasnt until i tried to find more stuff on TH-cam that i even noticed he was the guy that i watched on TH-cam probably 10 years ago!
Liam Johnstone Liam Johnstone Yes, Bo has been really prolific with his content and spread like wildfire from his original TH-cam setup to doing regular comedy shows and developed viral popularity on vine as well. His appearance on The Green Room was spectacular and the mutual admiration across the generations of comedians felt surreal and they even played on it with faux-mockery of their relevance to each other’s natural demographic. As they put it in that show, it is an interesting juxtaposition.
ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THAT 2:53 "LOVE" HE SINGS? His voice was already great in "what." but damn, three years later that is almost perfect. He improved a lot and, I repeat, he already had top tier voice imo
Seriously, if this is on Tik Tok that can only be a good thing! That is one minute when I know Tik Tokers are getting quality content that isn't vapid.
So the reason why people are annoyed that it's on TikTok is because people on TikTok couldn't care less where the audio comes from. They don't actually listen to the full song, they just use the excerpt without caring who it's from and move on. That's why it's annoying.
@Outcast American Don't think so little of yourself. You can do things. If God exists I doubt that he's interested in how my life turns out. If he was, I would think he would also handle all the other issues on Earth.

I wont lie this is probably one of my favorite Bo Burnham songs. not only is it a bop (and I just LOVE the way he sings it), it's all about how we shouldn't set up contradictory or unrealistic expectations for our romantic partners because we're all human. we're all unique individuals with our own idiosyncrasies, and we should learn to stop looking for love based on this complex image we have in our heads and just accept what's in front of us.
@@KaylaTheKindOne I don't expect you to believe that, I clearly said the average man, meaning most men, not every man. bo burnham is still by far my favorite performer... musically talented, clearly very smart.. has a lot of good messages.. .and some darker ones that are important to think about

@@ichigoeater I think it’s about how everyone wants the best for them. But don’t give a F about whether they’re the best for the other person. They want to be who they are, while they want the other person to be exactly according to their dreams, and to accommodate, adjust and compromise all the time. They want a perfect partner while being full of flaws themselves. Rather than all of this, just find someone whom you love and you’re compatible with, and they love you back and they’re compatible with you. Find happiness and comfort rather than complaints and insecurity in this world. That’s what I thought and in my opinion, these are the most thoughtful, true lyrics of any song I’ve ever heard

[Intro]
We all want love
How many single ladies out there, looking for love tonight? (Wooo!)
Yeah, woo that sadness out
There's more where that came from
Ladies, I know what you want-want-want
[Verse 1]
You want a guy that's sweet, a guy that's tough
A feminist who likes to pay for stuff
The kind of guy that gets along with your friends
Without being attracted to any of them
A good boy, a bad boy; a good bad boy;
A half good, half bad, half boy
Loves your brothers, sensitive but not weak and
Is a great lover, calls your mother on the weekend
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Now you might think that this guy only exists in your mind
Guess what: You're right!
[Chorus]
If you want love, lower your expectations a few
Because Prince Charming would never settle for you~
If you want love, just pick a guy and love him
And if he's got a thing for feet, say: "Fuck it, sweep me off 'em"
[Interlude]
Now the good thing is that at least men have very realistic expectations for women... He said, sarcastically setting up a second verse in a comedy song
[Verse 2]
You want a girl that's nice, a girl that's not
Obsessed with her looks, but is insanely hot
The kind of girl that you can show to your folks
Loves the movies that you like and always laughs at your jokes
A real girl, a hot girl; a really hot girl;
A brand new, really hot, real doll
Wants to impress you, doesn't care if you notice
And only ever uses you to tickle her throat with
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Now you might think that this girl only exists in your mind
But she's real, but last week she died
[Chorus]
If you want love, lower your expectations a lot
You might think your dick is a gift, I promise it's not
If you want love, just pick a girl and love her
Then whip out your dick and let the girl you love decline the offer
[Bridge]
I don't want a neat freak, I don't want a slob
Somebody with bedhead and a dead-end job
'Cause I won't settle for less than perfect
We want perfect children, a perfect life
A perfect husband or a perfect wife
But deep down we know, we don't deserve it
But-
[Outro]
We all deserve love, even on the days when we aren't our best
'Cause we all suck, but love can make us suck less
We all deserve love, it's the very best part of being alive
And I would know I just turned 25
Thanks man

Damn Bo is hitting me below the belt.
He’s stopped doing comedy or at least for now
I watched his videos in 2008 on youtube. Much deserved success
That maybe the shittiest story out there
Similar story: My friend showed me "Im Bo Yo" when it first came out and i thought it was hilarious.
