About seven years ago a friend of mine drew Dean Rojas in a tournament as a non-Boater. My friend is actually a great fisherman and is not someone that exaggerates or is amazed easily. When he came back that day All of us went out to dinner and he was telling us stories that would blow your mind about how crazy accurate, dog walking, and just all-around placement he was with a frog. There were times he placed the frog through triple crossed laydowns with willow tree hangovers just to land on an area no bigger than the size of a credit card. I can only imagine how great he is now. All I can say is "ridiculously good"
I talk to my daughter who plays soccer about this all the time. The amount of practice the great pros of any sport put in each and every day is beyond what people realize. Byrd, Magic, Kobe, Beckham, Messi....they all take thousands of practice shots a week. THOUSANDS. And this is on top of all the rest of practicing, conditioning and working out they do.
I drew him as a marshall on the California delta a couple years ago.....it was an amazing schooling in frogging. He threw the frog for probably 3 hours that day and caught several good fish, including about a 5 pounder. This was all after catching a 7+ pounder flipping. All I can say is that the man is a not only a great fisherman, but he is a wonderful human being. We talked a lot that day and I really enjoyed getting to know him, of all the elites that I marshalled that weekend, being in the boat with him was the best.
Dean has always been a great inspiration to me and many if not most of bass anglers. Awesome video. Hope to see more of Dean and other technique videos!!!
Wow. Watching a professional, an expert at his craft. Thousands and thousands of casts and time on the water to get to this level. Like a pro golfer, moves the ball where he wants, so does a pro bass tournament angler move his lure. He is the Nolan Ryan of frogging.
Dude....who THE HELL are you?! and why THE HELL am I just subscribing?! Just checked out your vids...and will def be catching up on them all! channel looks epic!
Lee Ward Ducket stuff. And before he changed of sponsor he used a Quantum combo for years. But he could fish the same with any other rod/reel brand. It is just about skills, and he has ridiculous skills for sure.
Ha, if he fished it every hour of every day for 11 years!!! Here's the math... Rojas is 46 years old. He's lived approximately 394,000 hours. His outlandish exaggeration claims that he's fished his Duckett rod for almost 1/4 of the entire hours he's been alive! That's amazing! He likely hasn't fished frogs for more than a few thousand hours of his fishing life. A full time job is 40 hours per week for 50 weeks per year equalling 2000 hours per year. He doesn't even spend 2000 hours per year on the water. I'd expect amateurs to exaggerate but pros discredit themselves when they say garbage like this. Proves he doesn't think about what he says. Rojas is an amazing pro fisherman! He's one of the best pros at frogging techniques and puts on shows featuring that talent. He's cocky. Many amateurs have similar or better skills. Every next generation gets better! Exaggeration like 100,000 hours fishing this rod and participating in a hack video like this takes Rojas off my favs list.
John Ross, what are your professional earnings and career tournament wins? Damn man, soak up some positive vibes. You don't have to buy anything he's pitching, he has to. The companies that pay him expect it.
I think "100,000" was less a number to be taken literally than simply indicating he's racked up a lot of time with that rod. And he didn't seem cocky to me.
Never stop having fun! My little brother and I were fishing one afternoon in the 80's and I tied on a frog and was playing with throwing it between floats under docks. I was narrating in Kermit the Frog's voice, singing "Its Not Easy Being Green" and a Bass blew up on it and I caught it. We still talk about that with our kids.
I thought I'd seen it all. I never thought I'd live long enough to see someone skip, then CURVE, a bait. That is absolutely disgusting. How many times....or I should say how many hours do you think he spent perfecting that....smh. Just goes to show just how good these guys are.
100% right! I always say it's impossible to truly know how incredible these guys are til you are in the boat with them. And even if you're in their boat for a whole day, you don't even see 5% of what they know and can do!
@@JayKumarsBassBlaster Yup....I totally agree. When you see guys giving their bait choices, etc.... You think to yourself, they're giving away secrets that could cost them money. But, they're only telling us 2% of what they know, or gear they're using. There's a lot of industries like that (the music/recording industry is notorious for that). That aside, this is a text-book example that even him telling us exactly what he's doing, how he's doing it, and what bait... It still would take us mere mortals the rest of our lives to catch up to him. These kinds of skills, and wisdom is what used to make all the pro tour's so incredible to watch. Now it's about electronics, unfortunately. But, I digress... I'm glad he handled himself well, and you had a good time. I had a very similar experience with Roland Martin, whom I look up to almost like a father. Thanks again for sharing.
show of this vidio I'm from Brazil and I really like to use these frog a lot we do not speak the same thing but we like fishing I would like it to be a reel for light fishing to do in and pitches with light bait in the house of 6g congratulations to the the vidio
These guys literally spend hours on hours everyday for years to be able to do this and it took me years just to be able to cast a bait caster much less skippppp a frog.

I totally agree. The accuracy of pros is majestic to witness in person
I talk to my daughter who plays soccer about this all the time. The amount of practice the great pros of any sport put in each and every day is beyond what people realize. Camera man should have zoomed in on some of the casts.
Ermanno D'Angelo good video tho, but I agree

I like all the close ups. Now i know exactly what hes talking about.
I've been mesmerized by Dean's froggin ability since the Lake Wylie Classic! Great video!
Dean has always been a great inspiration to me and many if not most of bass anglers. Awesome video. Hope to see more of Dean and other technique videos!!!
Exists: $90,000 boat + tens of thousands of $$$ in gear.
Also: No zoom on the camera.
Dean is kinda the Phil Mickleson of fishing. He even looks like him.lol
Wow. Watching a professional, an expert at his craft. Thousands and thousands of casts and time on the water to get to this level. Like a pro golfer, moves the ball where he wants, so does a pro bass tournament angler move his lure. He is the Nolan Ryan of frogging.
It's pretty amazing no doubt!
I love, I mean love fishing with a frog but this man is a magician with it!
Wish the camera could have caught all the close up and details.
Me too man! We were just messing around and it happened. I will say this - manipulation of slack is key.
I fished in the back of cliff crochets boat in an open and he does it too. Pretty awesome. He's as avid a frog fisherman as Dean
Dude....who THE HELL are you?! and why THE HELL am I just subscribing?! Just checked out your vids...and will def be catching up on them all! channel looks epic!
Sal Palos exactly!!! I was like video with dean and next was with Aaron martin. not sure how I just found this channel and why it only has 1000 subs.
Awesome casting … superbly done and super frog fisherman
zoom in....please...and yesss...promo for sale the signed rod more than accuracy😂
3:50 “I can do anything” hahahah “I’m just so good”
I fished my first BFL tournament and my jaw was just dropped half the day watching my boater skip frogs all day. It was mindblowing
That was awesome, cool video!
Very cool and informative.....thanks for sharing.
Yeah dean glad to hear you say 7' mh fast as it's what I use. Duckett will try to sell you on a 6'8" along with many others
Good information camera person could had zoomed in hard to see where your frog is going????
Such a fun way to fish
Nice video. Dean discussed his rod but we didn't get his reel and line set-up. Can you share? Thx!
Lee Ward Ducket stuff. And before he changed of sponsor he used a Quantum combo for years. But he could fish the same with any other rod/reel brand. It is just about skills, and he has ridiculous skills for sure.
First video I've seen on your channel, dude that was awesome, subscribing asap!. What part of the country are you coming from?
Is that a dc whine at 1:23?
What Type or pound test ( line ) that he used for Skipping the Frog ??
Abdel Avila braid, most likely 50 to 65 lb
EPIC from IDAHO! THANX!
7mins….(CUT, stop the camera guys) my damn frog is stuck in the trees.
What happens when you curve the frog around a log like that, and the bass take it and runs underneath the log? With no braid 😂
this would probably be cool if I could actually see the casts. . . sad times
100000 hours with a Duckett? Perhaps most of those hours were with the Quantum rods that were the best last time!
Ty For the insight
You bet man thanks for watching!
Dean the Machine!!!
100,000 thousand hours... 11 years with the same rod...
Ha, if he fished it every hour of every day for 11 years!!! Here's the math... Rojas is 46 years old. He's lived approximately 394,000 hours. Dragon Ball you beat me to it. Geez this guy......
I think "100,000" was less a number to be taken literally than simply indicating he's racked up a lot of time with that rod. And he didn't seem cocky to me.
Figure of speech bro. Still he is certainly the guy who spend most time to frogfish on the planet.
Awesome video.😀
and what is the billing of the stick and line which a lb thank you

Nice curve frog lol 👍🏼
I love how pros act like anything they do is difficult lol
LakeChicotGuy RippnLips it accually is
Yes it is is. And the guy is still modest considering he precised it is "just" a matter of training.
Try it.
Not fair. Its dean with a frog. You can try to be Dean. But you can't be Dean with a frog.

It does take alot of practice! #RippinLipsInc.
Awesome knowledge tnx for sharing awesome dude!!!
Me: Combining "feathering" and "free-spooling" during a cast...disaster!
Where can we get your hat????
show of this vidio I'm from Brazil and I really like to use these frog a lot we do not speak the same thing but we like fishing I would like it to be a reel for light fishing to do in and pitches with light bait in the house of 6g congratulations to the the vidio
Nice
He also shouldn't act so damn inexperienced lol like he's never seen a fishing rod before
I love frog fishing this is mind blowing... mind you I can fish from shore.. gawd what a vid
God is good
mad genius
cool.
hours and hours of practice
He has 17 years of time using that rod? That’s a little excessive isn’t it? 17 years straight without putting it down!!
Lazer BullFrogZ!!!!
Nice...
I can't see shrimp
These guys literally spend hours on hours everyday for years to be able to do this and it took me years just to be able to cast a bait caster much less skippppp a frog.
I know exactly where this spot is on the river
WOW!!!
I can cruve a bait without skipping it it a long time
God is good
If you've been fishing a while u should have already learned it all.....but great video!
Poor camera work
"you can see where..." No..... we can't see.
Up your hosting skills. You seemed highly inexperienced to entertain. "Wow , wow , I'm just blowin away ". Other than that great vid.
Bobby Beans Yeah he's dopey as fuck.
