So based on other comments and my own interpretations, I think this song takes place in some sort of post-apocalyptic world/war-torn country. The girl in yellow (whom I will refer to as Yellow from now on) is a homeless, poor, girl who grew up on the streets of this war-torn place and somehow lost the use of her leg and got hurt. Given that it's the post-apocalypse (or at least a war-torn area) it wouldn't surprise me if she got roughed up by some muggers or something, or was born with some sort of genetic defect resulting in the inability to use her leg. That, or, she broke her leg years ago and because there were no real doctors or proper treatment was too expensive, the bone never set properly and she, again, lost the use of her leg. I think it might be a combination, Yellow somehow broke her leg but also she was probably born lame (as in, sickly and with a weak constitution, not uncool). As for where her parents are, I think they must've either died or abandoned her. She, like many other war children, were left to grow up alone on the streets. Now, as a teenager/young adult, Yellow has pretty much lost all hope and faith in the world, and kinda wants to die. As she watches the people passing her in the alleyway, a girl in pink (whom I will refer to as Pink from now on) approaches her. Pink is a soldier for the army, and sees potential in Yellow. Pink herself was once much like Yellow, then she got recruited by the government and was given cybernetic implants and training to fight in the on-going war. Pink is going around recruiting new soldiers for the army and tries to recruit Yellow, telling her that the army will give her a new leg and other cybernetic enhancements plus a place to sleep and food to eat if she joins them. With nothing left to lose and no real will left to live, Yellow accepts, figuring it's better than just rotting away on the streets forgotten. Yellow is warned (either by Pink or somebody else) that the surgery to replace her leg and do all that other stuff is dangerous and could potentially fail and kill her, especially given her weak constitution. But as I said Yellow is sick of sitting around wasting away anyway, unable to really do anything because of her weak body, so she agrees. While under the effects of anathesia, Yellow dreams of her life leading up to this point, of meeting Pink, and the future assuming she survives this surgery. At some point during the surgery, Yellow almost doesn't pull through but gives one last "push", refusing to die and instead choosing to live. Thanks to her willpower (and hopefully the competence of the doctors performing the surgery) she survives. Pink either goes off elsewhere or dies somehow, perhaps fighting or due to some other complications. Either way Yellow never sees her again. Some time shortly after waking up, Yellow is examining her new body and contemplating everything. She grins an insane grin: one part bloodlust/excitement over her new, functional, superhuman body, and one part utter despair and resignation to the fact that she is now a weapon for the army, her life shall never get better nor be her own, and she will probably die fighting for a useless cause and/or live long enough to hate herself and want to die just as Pink did. (As towards the end of her life, when she recruited Yellow, Pink was herself suicidal and depressed and just plain sick and tired of fighting for the army, of being a tool, and of recruiting young, bright-eyed kids like herself to fight in a senseless war and probably die and/or have their spirits broken, just as hers once was. She hated herself for perpetuating a cycle of violence and suffering but felt she had no choice, no power to stop this cycle nor resist.)
