❤🥺 We Hindus are very tolerant people and whole world is a family 👪 for us,
But history and experience with Islamic Invasions have taught us not to be Tolerant of the Intolerant Islam.
The struggle and problems of Israel and India are same - the Threat of Islam.

Hindus never turned away any refugees. Jews were just another people or Jati who asked for refuge and the local kings were generous as they were to all refugees. Hindus has no quarrels w these refugees’ religions coz we believe there r many paths to same goal! Unlike Christianity or Islam. Jews lived along w all other communities in India w/o any discrimination.

The term antisemitism was coined in Europe (I think by a German but not sure) and a phenomenon that mostly European Jews experienced. In fact, Jews live in the same neighbourhood as Christians, Hindus, and other Muslim communities harmoniously together in cities like Calcutta. The politics of the Middle East and the West is just “Fremd” for the Jewish in India. Till today, those Indian Jews who did decide to go to Israel in the 50s, 60s etc, still very strongly associate themselves to India.
As an Indian and a true Mumbaiker (from Mumbai), I never heard of the word antisemitism when I lived in India. Yes, in 11th and 12th grade history class at School in Mumbai, we did learn about the World Wars, the resentment against the Jews (we learnt about how Germany tried to blame its economic downfall after the WWI on the success of the Jews in Europe), persecution of the Jews, the Holocaust which all seemed really belonging to a regressive world of the past. But I never thought to experience that such resentment still existed in Germany and Europe even after over 5 decades after the WWII. In 2000, I came to Germany on a scholarship program to pursue my further studies at the University in Stuttgart. I was shocked to hear what I heard silently discussed at private households: denial of the Holocaust (something that was not allowed to be spoken openly in Germany), hatred towards the Americans because they defeated the Germans and a whole load of regressive thoughts. I could not believe that so called Western countries still was backwards in many aspects. In fact, I missed the openness and diversity of Mumbai. In fact, even the Jews in Germany are so different than the Jewish community in Mumbai. I guess it is because the Jews in Europe have always had to live an alert life as for in Mumbai, they are free. The same applies to the Christians and Muslims in India. They are different compared to the Christians or Muslims here in Europe. I myself am an Indian Christian and I just cannot connect to the German Christians (I do not even feel comfortable to enter a church here in Germany).

At 34:14 - "Lal Deval“ means Red Temple, not Red Fort. Deval is short for Devalaya meaning" House of Deva“ meaning temple. So the local people recognised it to be a house of worship.

  • @SrikanthIyerTheMariner

Rig Veda .. the most ancient Hindu scripture says " Truth is One ..it goes by with different names"
We automatically recognize that the same Divinity reveals itself to man many times in many places..and it is interpreted based on local language/customs..
So Hindus don't just tolerate other religions ..we accept them equally valid as our own
Just as my mother is the best mother there is ( for me) ... your mother is the best mother in the world ( for you)
My God is the best in the world ( for me )..and your God is the best in the world ( for you) ... Hindus can respect that.
This is Religious Pluralism. An Infinite God can be worshipped in Infinite ways.
The issues that have surfaced when this beautiful Religious idea was rejected by "Some hard-line Muslims and Christian Missionaries"
I qualify it ..because despite oppression/destruction of Temples by Muslim rulers .. Sufism took hold in India ...and most Hindus love Sufi mystics ...and in General Hindus and Muslims got along till 20th century
I have seen with my own eyes ..a Hindu woman praying , with tears, at a Dargah
Hopefully the world helps India protect Religious Pluralism.
We are all children of the Same God.

The persecution of Jews in Europe and west in general has a historical background specific to the west and rise of Christianity. India being so far away was not part of that historical background. Probably this is the reason there was no persecution of Jews in India. Also, India was tolerant towards all schools of thought and and religious beliefs.

The tragic truth is that Jews could never be allowed to thrive anywhere because of the amount of laws relating to various sectors such as technology, agriculture, medicine, construction, etc that have been formulated and meticulously followed by them as a community. Israel today holds that place for the practice of such laws.
In India, the truth is that Jews appear happy because their laws have not been followed to the letter or the practicality as envisaged as written off in The Talmund, discussions of midrash, tanna, etc.
Thus, you can seem happy when you do not do enough to actually appease Your Lord.
Also, not the best of the tribes have lived in India. Israel too has a caste system like the original propagated by Lord Manu which is very strict and must be knowledgeable.
