  • After spending a decade in the 80's fishing Lizard Island and the Great Barrier Reef north of Cooktown, I was keen to come back and see what had changed in thirty years.
With a prevalence of green zones now in the area, we were pleasantly surprised to find an abundance of trout while snorkelling and some beautiful coral gardens.
We found an unmarked historic shipwreck, fed some wild fish, climbed Cook's look and explored some beautiful deserted islands.
Join us for a trip down memory lane for me as we explore this beautiful area of the Queensland coast.

Love the vid. We done the refurb on Lizard Island after they got smashed by the first cyclone. Ah the memories. The place was a free for all then. You needed a feed just go fishing straight in front of the marlin bar.

So i thought you would use high or medium chirp in 30m of water can you help me understand

Billy bob this is from my game boat. It has a very good low freq and gives better coverage than the medium. In my 6 metre boat I run a high wide. Our Sounder Skills 2 course explains it all. www.fishsmarter.com.au/products/sounder-skills-2/

    You talk about “poachers”.
Are we talking about locals or internationals?

Your voiceover audio is really quiet compared to the rest of the sound mate. Can you turn it up? Cheers!

R thanks for picking that up mate. Bit late now as it’s posted but we have amended so when we put it in other channels it is correct. Thanks for the heads up!
