    6:20 The reveal of that statue blew me away. At first I thought it was a rock and then a tree but then... Wow.

      I loved taking photos from both sides...was like a shadow board and a very effective art piece for sure.... especially behind the clear blue sky 👍👍

    Wow! It looks like you could spend days exploring cooktown!

      I do know some people that could spend a week here to really enjoy everything there is to do.
      I could have used some extra time and was rushing around to get footage... I think 3 days would be a good average though 👍👍
      Thanks for watching guys

      Must admit I was a little surprised how much there was to do there. Not sure I could get use to the wind though......lol

    What a great overview of what the town offers. When I see the views across that water, it almost feels like you are on the edge of some frontier. I have to go there some day.

      My first time to visit Cooktown... so had a great time.
      Will probably pass through again for our cape York trip but not sure when that will be yet...lol

    Great suggestions Chris! The botanic gardens are so pretty. I noticed a palm tree that is similar to palm trees we have here (Bismark I think they are called here). The view from Grassy Hill Lookout...wow 🤩. I think we would want to hike the trail Cherry Tree Bay. Sounds like it would be pretty secluded!
    That pizza would be a great option after a long hike, it looked delicious 😁

      I would have done the hike to cherry tree bay myself... didn't look that long but we only had limited time and we were already so buggered. As it was I left Matt in the hotel room one afternoon while I drove around for photos.
      I'm nearing the end of this trip which is sad but got some really great content out of it... I live the memories and some videos are doing really well for my channel.

    Hi Chris! Looks like Cooktown really lives up to its name, a lot of James Cook history. I don’t why but I think the Queen’s Steps are so cool! Probably be a they were actually made for her! Isabela Falls we’re so pretty! Looks like a great little town to explore!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not somewhere a lot of people explore. Just a wayward stop between going elsewhere....and most heading to the cape York tip.
      I think you can Google pictures of the queen actually standing on those steps... it's amazing thinking about standing where she once did.
      Isabella falls would have been better if we could stay longer... just sit back and chill in the waters... would be a nice cool off.
      😁👍

    Very cool, Chris! I loved how the playground for children is also enjoyed by adults. Were adults not allowed in the small water park? :P
    Great tour! I can't imagine always watching out for crocs and snakes though. :O
    That pizza looked fantastic!
    Sweet edit!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  ปีที่แล้ว

      HAHA, yeah the adults can use the water park - I just don't think he wanted to get wet. I was actually lucky to have someone around at the time...there was hardly any people in Cooktown. It was a very eclectic town and i loved visiting. We will probably have to stop again one day for our Cape York trip and will have to stop for supplies on the way..... or just leave from cairns - Who knows.
      I should be featuring the Bloomfield 4WD track this week, which leads into Cooktown.... slowly tying up all the videos from that holidays and ready to feature some more.

    Is it allowed to fish off a pier?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw a couple of people fishing off the waterfront area. Comes hand in hand with the crocs too, but ii think it was a better option for the fishing charter boats

      Interesting... I just looked it up again and got 326...I wonder where I come up with the 400 amount from.
      Sorry for the mistake
