A valid concern, and safety is indeed a critical aspect of electric vehicles. It's important to note that any reports of battery fires, whether from BYD or Tesla, are taken seriously by manufacturers and regulatory bodies alike. While incidents can occur, it's essential to consider the broader context, including factors such as the frequency of incidents relative to the total number of vehicles on the road, as well as the measures taken by companies to enhance safety and mitigate risks.
Both BYD and Tesla continuously invest in research, development, and rigorous testing to improve battery safety standards. Additionally, advancements in battery technology and manufacturing processes aim to minimize the likelihood of such incidents.
That said, as consumers, it's vital to stay informed about safety features, follow recommended guidelines for charging and maintenance, and rely on reputable sources for accurate information about electric vehicle safety. Thank you for raising this concern!

You came up with some statistics per 100000 cars. Or just throwing nonsense?

Tesla uses BYD batteries. Also if BYD makes more EV's than Tesla then BYD cars are also going to have more battery fires. If the average BYD is more likely to catch fire than the average Tesla and you have hard data to back that up, feel free to post it.

Tesla is not a global company. Most of their sales are in USA and China. Little bit in Germany, UK and even less Norway. That's it.
Point about charging stations isn't valid either. There are far more charging stations in China than in USA.

True, Tesla's sales are mainly concentrated in the USA and China, but they operate in multiple countries. However, the discussion about BYD versus Tesla extends beyond sales and charging stations. It involves factors like brand perception, innovation, and market positioning, with both companies bringing unique strengths to the table. The debate reflects the broader evolution of the electric vehicle industry and the diverse strategies shaping its future. Thanks for engaging!

Tesla did indeed outsell BYD in BEVs for 2023, but BYD's Q4 success highlights its growing competitiveness particularly in the broader electric vehicle market where hybrids also play a significant role. While Tesla may make more revenue, BYD's diverse range of EVs appeals to a broader market. Both companies have strengths, and the competition reflects the industry's dynamism. What are your thoughts on BYD and Tesla's future in the EV market?
