I binged seasons 1 and 2 on Thanksgiving Break of 2018. Then I watched Alicization Awakening as it released. More recently (2020 to now) I’ve actually been busy with school. So I just wait for the dub to come out so I can watch it in the background while I do work. I haven’t seen Aria of a Starless Night yet.

It encapsulates the theme that SAO started to go for before Alicization, and that is: the value of the memories from the tragedy. It's a very unique theme that haven't seen anywhere else yet. I hope the show delves into it more.
This is my first anime I never thought i'd like anime but my friends (who pretty much all watch anime) finally convinced me to try this series and I love it so much lol. Also this song is beautiful.
Sure, it can be hated, but personally imo people hate it too much than it should be. I mean it’s pretty enjoyable if you don’t think about it so much. The animation is amazing and you can’t find that in every anime. So I congratulate Reki Kawarahara for at least something.
It's been more than 10 years but we have finally reached the day when the mortal game was cleared by out black swordman, even if i didn't watch SAO in its early days, I can't help but feel excitement about this event, i really appreciate this franchise, i know it has flaws however that didn't stop me to become a loyal fan, I'm not afraid of confessing that Kirito and Asuna's relationship is the primarily reason that keeps attached to watch the anime.

Some even got brandnew opening, like One Piece or Sailor Moon That stopped somewhere inbetween Naruto though since all the weebs complained, that it's not the original opening. And than everyone kinda went with it, probably because it`s cheaper, too. That said, I believe Shaman King and Sonic X (Not sure if japanese production) have english translated openings.
This song always makes my eyes blue red. When I listen to this song, remembering the last scene of SAO 14 episode (Kirito parting from Asuna and returning to reality and recalling Asuna), I can not overcome the bitterness, anguish, sadness, and sadness that rise at the deep in my heart.
Does anyone else ever just want to switch lives with a character from a TV series or show / anime, because you know that your life would never be this cool and you'd never have a relationship this good and a life that good? You wanna be the person so bad to but you know no matter what , it can never happen because it is fictional. I'd literally do anything to freaking switch lives with an anime character, having amazing powers, and different feelings. I feel like I'm never gonna find someone to care about more than I care about anyone else. I want SAO to be real, my life is already miserable and the death part is the same thing as real life, but instead I live in an amazing fantasy world.

You know wen you listen to something like this, and you know it's a legit recording but sounds auto tuned really well, then you know that this person can sing.
Gotta say, if there are a few things this anime did right, it had to be the depth of story and music. With those combined I feel that you can get some real nostalgia from this anime, at least depending on your initial reaction to it. Fantastic song. Still listen to it and is still one of my top 5 endings.
1 thing i gotta say is, if you find someone saying "oh Sao ? i hated that shit, like it was SHIT" just ignore them and or block them, :). i personally love it

Watch both seasons, it's fantastic, but the second arc of season one is pretty lame. It's picks right back up in season 2, though. It's overall a very unique and amazing show.

Couldn't have phrased it better myself. In 2015, I was an anime noob and the only anime I had seen were yu gi oh, pokemon and dragon ball z. The first proper anime I watched was SAO, and even though I despise it now I'm 18, i can't but help but be greatful to it, because it sparked my love for anime and English anime covers. I watched Sao when I was 13, I'm 18 now, and my passion for anime isn't anywhere close to dying, and I still get excited for Amalee's covers. So, SAO may be trash, but I can never truly hate it because of what it started.
I used to listen to your covers every day when I was younger, this was always one of my favorites. I no longer watch or am really interested in anime but these covers always fill me with nostalgia, thank you AmaLee:)

This song brings back memories of my first love. We were together for 8 years, starting around the time this show came out. She looked just like Asuna-dirty-blonde hair, blue eyes. I have black hair and hazel eyes. I know it sounds corny, but we often compared our love to the pure bond between Kirito and Asuna. We were each other’s first everything. But after 8 years together, she left me for a guy she met online, and I never heard from her again. Now, when I listen to this song, I feel a mix of nostalgia for when our love was a happy thing and confusion, because it's tainted by what happened. I don't feel any romantic love for her anymore, but I don't hate her either. It’s a bittersweet feeling-one of loss, but also a recognition of the love we once shared. This song captures that emotion perfectly. She showed me the depth of love I was capable of, but it also taught me a painful lesson: I had lost myself in that love. It was easier to lose myself in her, in the comfort of our bond, than to face the reality of the world and the pain of finding my true self. I was afraid of the work it would take to understand who I really was. Loving her, and clinging to that love, felt safer than confronting the uncertainty of facing the world alone. I definately prefer sao 1 over sao 2.... So much more emotinal story made you get on edge sao 2 first 1-14 were great but after the death gun arc its meh...

Lisa Tran i wrote this 2 weeks ago you know.... i obviously know its sad but im not one to start crying so i just watched it with no emotion even though it was crazy sad and that last episode where yuuki dies and her friends waiting close by her side as asuna was holding her hand that really was sad because of what she died of people deal with that crap in real life the connection to the series and real life was truly astounding but the second half seemed like sword art slice of life...... im not disappointed by it because it was still a great angle but i prefered the death gun arc more.

I know she is probably preoccupied with all sorts of other stuff, but a remake of this song would be incredible! This is one of my favorite EDs and covers from her, so I would love to see her going all out on this with all the improvements she has made, maybe to even pay homage to the legacy of the series. It would be fitting, since Alicization is going on right now.

Watch both seasons, it's fantastic, but the second arc of season one is pretty lame. It's picks right back up in season 2, though. It's overall a very unique and amazing show.

Couldn't have phrased it better myself. In 2015, I was an anime noob and the only anime I had seen were yu gi oh, pokemon and dragon ball z. The first proper anime I watched was SAO, and even though I despise it now I'm 18, i can't but help but be greatful to it, because it sparked my love for anime and English anime covers. I watched Sao when I was 13, I'm 18 now, and my passion for anime isn't anywhere close to dying, and I still get excited for Amalee's covers. So, SAO may be trash, but I can never truly hate it because of what it started.
This makes me so sad, I rewatched all of sao, waiting on the new episode for sao season 3

This song brings back memories of my first love. We were together for 8 years, starting around the time this show came out. She looked just like Asuna-dirty-blonde hair, blue eyes. I have black hair and hazel eyes.
I know it sounds corny, but we often compared our love to the pure bond between Kirito and Asuna. We were each other’s first everything. But after 8 years together, she left me for a guy she met online, and I never heard from her again. Now, when I listen to this song, I feel a mix of nostalgia for when our love was a happy thing and confusion, because it's tainted by what happened.
I don't feel any romantic love for her anymore, but I don't hate her either. It’s a bittersweet feeling-one of loss, but also a recognition of the love we once shared. This song captures that emotion perfectly. She showed me the depth of love I was capable of, but it also taught me a painful lesson: I had lost myself in that love. It was easier to lose myself in her, in the comfort of our bond, than to face the reality of the world and the pain of finding my true self. I was afraid of the work it would take to understand who I really was. Loving her, and clinging to that love, felt safer than confronting the uncertainty of facing the world alone. But in the end, it was a necessary lesson to learn: to find yourself, you first have to face the pain and discomfort of growth.

I’ve actually been with my new girlfriend for about two years now and she’s treated me a lot better than my ex ever did, my ex was a lesson learned and I’ve already forgiven her in my heart and mind for what’s she’s done. She taught me to never settle and to stand up for myself more, it helped me become a better man for myself and my current girlfriend.

Lisa Tran i wrote this 2 weeks ago you know.... i obviously know its sad but im not one to start crying so i just watched it with no emotion even though it was crazy sad and that last episode where yuuki dies and her friends waiting close by her side as asuna was holding her hand that really was sad because of what she died of people deal with that crap in real life the connection to the series and real life was truly astounding but the second half seemed like sword art slice of life...... im not disappointed by it because it was still a great angle but i prefered the death gun arc more.
