Aw man! Sorry for your loss! If there is any anime that stirs up emotions, Sword Art Online is definitely up there. I think the biggest reason for that is that Kirito cares for the people he fights to protect, and I suppose you wish you could be like him in order to protect her. Either in virtual of in real life, he endured loss in both, and in the end it made him stronger because the people he lost helped him to fight and save the people in Aincrad and Underworld. Eugeo was one of those people who helped Kirito get back up and fight, and I hope that somehow that even though your girlfriend is gone, she is still with you, just like Eugeo was with Kirito. I think this is one of the reasons why Sword Art Online is so well loved. Once again, my condolences.

Kazuto already loves Asuna, and he sees Suguha as his sister, so it's impossible for him to answer her feelings. She knows this, but still loves him nonetheless, thus the theme of the song.

i always listened to this song during rough time when i was in highschool, after 3+ years i finally remember this very song again from the beat, lyrics, and EVEN the asuna thumbnail. the wave of nostalgia and EVERY lyrics hits harder now ffs, great fkin song my man. For me this song always encapsulates "i am not alone" vibes espically "cast worries to the skies" and "take my hand, i will fight by your side". I listened to this throughout high school, but specifically in my first year of university I went through a real tough time and this song was one of the ones that helped get me through it. You're so right. The sound, thumbnail, lyrics, everything; they combined to create something I could just listen to and not feel alone. I randomly just saw this music video for the first time in years and your comment is such a coincidence to what I also felt back then.

Was I the only one who cried a bit during the song? It's really sad, if you listen closely it's telling you friends and loved ones don't satay forever and will leave one day, and when that day comes you need to move on instead of being depressed. Very one will need to move on one day and find new people. So if you're depressed about losing someone, know that you can still move on and find someone new.
But it's something every has to deal with.
The line "How can I ever reach you when I can't even see the sky?" reminds of the part where 'ow the edg- i mean Kirito loses sight of the top of the inside of the world tree because it gets covered up by all the guardian robots.
I get that the song is about Suguha but that one line makes me think of Kirito's frustration at not being able to reach Asuna because the top of the tree seems to be out of his reach.

Wow. I expected Sword Arts Online music on TH-cam, but I never expected something this outstanding.
I first listened to this song when I was around elementary, and now I'm currently on the path towards college. Back then, I would mindlessly just sing along to the song, now that I am older and able to comprehend the song in a deeper meaning, who knew I would relate to it so much. The way I would offer anything just to go back to the point of my life where I first knew about this video.

9 years later and this is still such a beyond stellar cover in my eyes.
There is just so much emotion packed into every line.
I feel like ALO was just mediocre compared to SAO, the whole death looming over the horizon feel was what drew me in. Instead of ALO they should have made the whole 24 or 25 episodes on SAO only and the time skips kinda annoyed me, I would have liked to see both asuna and kirito get better instead of one episode "I'm level 3" and then next episode 'I'm level 22'. Jonah Skiff I don't speak for everybody, but I know some will agree with me. The first season was all about Kirito and Asuna protecting and fighting for EACH OTHER. The second season it was just Kirito saving the damsel in distress. I think the power of the show early on really came from the new relatively new dynamic of them both needing each other, as opposed to one being the hero and one needing rescuing.

I always felt this song was about Suguha realizing she could never be with Kirito and her lamenting the ideal future she lost, but deciding to be there for him anyway and finding hope in herself to move on.
Either that, or Kirito feeling he'll never fit in outside SAO or virtual reality in general, or him thinking he won't be able to save Asuna but finding the resolve to keep fighting for their future together.
Listening to this used to make me happy because it's my favourite song. Now, I cry even though I say crying shows weakness. It's because I have a lot of friends on Skype and there's one or two that I consider very close friends. One of them lives in Denmark and I really like him. To all those asking "2019?", clearly there's people watching this each year. But Overfly is a better song than the second half of the show so I remember it more than the plot.

Its hilarious that people think the show is shit because it has no character development. Like they think a 14 year old kid won’t be traumatized by 2 people literally dying in front of him. Then at 15 being paralyzed by a laughing coffin member and watching someone else die then him almost dying himself. Then at fucking 16 watch the love of his fucking life “die”. I wouldn’t expect Kirito to have any character development when he went through more trama than 90% of Gen Z on tik tok.

I love Sugu! Although I'd never want her to replace Asuna, I feel for her. I believe it took her amazing courage to let Kirito go. I loved the ALO arch of the story. I love how much of a wonderful sister Sugu was.
