I have been looking for this story for years thinking it was a chinese rhyme my granpa used to recite it frequently... 30 years from my grandfather's passing I finally discover it was not a rhyme but a poem from the Romance of the three kingdoms ❤❤
@@vincentlysrandomstuffs8924 the translation is in the video... Why would you cook beans using the bean stalk to fuel the flame? Originally we are from the same stalk, would you kill me with your anger?
It’s because most actors in the 1994 version were northern Chinese; the 2010 version and more recent dramas have more and more southern influence with rounder facial features
@@CJVS995 Northern China has been the center of culture, official language (Mandarin), politics and education; Southern China on the other hand was the economic center. Since joining WTO in early 2000, the South played a bigger role in the movie industry with increasing economic influence.
It has nothing to do with the actor's place of residence. But more to do with them used to be stage actors. Just like Patrick Steward and Christopher Lee, stage actors have one chance to deliver their performance without the aid of any special post production effects or edits. That is why they seem to have a special presence. They were trained to deliver their acting through facial expression, body posture, and enunciation of words. These are old school actors, who relied on their skills rather than post production magic.
1994 Can you prove your talent? I love his face at that moment. He seems to be more straight forward cruel. Whelp, not much scene. 2010 Cao Pi Seem like generous in every acted. But........😅😅😅😅😅😅 Like both of them.
Brian Fuertez mostly because of what Cáo Pí did. He’s the one who forced emperor Xian to abdicate. So he has been condemned as an usurper to this day. Hence why Luo had no love for this Dynasty.
I read that Luo was from Shu area, so, in his novel, the characters in Shu were portrayed with embellishment, larger than life. History seems to regard Cao Cao in a more favorable light.
Its because Sima Yi and his spawns. the disastrous Jin dynasty pushed the narrative of Han -> Wei -> Jin to legitimate themselves. Jin is already condemned, hence why Wei who is regarded as a catalyst for this destruction is blamed as well.

I dont think so....yes the new version is better in terms of fights and effects etc....but the old one has more heart in it...like the songs....touchy and epic! Both version have their pros and cons I would say :D
wtf hell no. New version skipped over so much details, and the actors were so pretentious and over-exaggerate their lines. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. the comparison isn't even close unless you're only basing your opinion on fucking graphics.

Interesting. Any idea why that would be?

Thanks for the response! Its Great to know the cultural background of both series.

"Not even fit to share the battlefield with me"
Anger hot lol
It's funny how the most civilized of the three kingdoms ends up the villain in Luo's version.
Brian Fuertez mostly because of what Cáo Pí did.

"Wei" and "civilized" should never be used in a sentence together in a serious conversation.

The translation is BAD !
It's impossible to translate that poem into english version
Lost metaphorical meaning, lost poetic devices, lost rhythm structure, lost its intention and purpose/ context, English version.. it’s just garbage
@@ryandr4714 Bullshit. It is, but it cannot be as compact
And then Cao Zhi got suppressed anyway and died so the poem from a genius only delayed things for a while.

this is a reason why movies and series are worse, bad audience
Owtwem The 2010 sucks. It was a spectacle and do not have much depth and understanding of the story and characters.
Erm, no. This version is the best
