    QOTD = Definitely my 10 year old dog Stevie.
    I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 4 snakes, 2 scorps, 1 leopard gecko, snails, a few aquariums. And I wouldn't ever want to be limited by having only one pet and not being able to enjoy keeping others. But I've had her the longest and if such a thing exists, we are kindred souls. I do hope age keeps its negatives at bay with her for a few more years at least.

      @@Reptiliatus I don't know how I missed the reptile part. Apparently the dog just trumps brain thought too.
      To answer the question properly then, I'd have to go with my pastel lesser ball python. He's my most interactive snake, and from about 5pm until I go to bed he always pops out of his hide and just watches the rest of us do whatever we are doing every evening.

    I'm actually getting a Moroccan uromastyx soon. Ever since I first saw one in a zoo I wanted to have one. I saw it straight face to face and my first thought was "that is a dragon right there." A docile, long lived, vegetarian lizard perfect for a first time reptile owner. I'll be naming him Glaurung (gl-ow, as in ow pain, rung) cause I'm a lord of the rings nerd. So Glaurung would be my choice for a reptile to have with me for all that time.

      @@k.l.manring2083 Oh neat, Savannahs are so dang cool. My friends' have one and I love hanging out with her so I totally get why you'd wait it out!
      The husbandry issues of the past is such a great point, chuckies for a long time were being plucked from the wild so often for the pet trade. I appreciate their loss in favor over the years for that very reason at least.
      One helped me through a really rough time, I was close to offing myself back then but was out in the wild rockhounding to fix my mood in Nevada. He literally walked over and hung out where I was sitting. I fed him some big unreachable flowers from the shrub he was eating off of. Sat there for 2 hours with the dude! He wasn't keen for me picking him up but he'd crawl on my lap to rest at least and let me pet him here and there. One of the coolest wild animal experiences!

    So, I just recently started watching your channel, and I have to say, it’s some amazing work you put in here everyday. I wanted to ask where I could get a Green Tree Monitor, and what you would recommend for a new owner. I recently had a Susan Plated Lizard. She was great and all, but died two months ago unfortunately. I have some insight on how to care for a lizard, but I know with different species there are different things to put attention too and look at.

    If I could only have one reptile for the rest of my life I think I would choose gargoyles. I love ALL animals, but geckos in particular are my favorite. It’s really difficult to choose between tokays and gargoyles but I think I’d choose gargoyles because they have such a special place in my heart, I love them so so much and they’re so stinkin cute! It’s hard to respect their boundaries sometimes because I just wanna cuddle and kiss them! I don’t have enough experience and knowledge to own a tokay yet but I’d imagine I wouldn’t necessarily wanna kiss them haha. Your tokays seem like sweethearts but you’ve obviously put SO much work into that, but when I think of an average tokay I think of cuteness but also DANGER hahaha

    • @Reptiliatus
      @Reptiliatus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds to me like you have very good/sentimental reasons for choosing your gargoyle gecko(s)! What’s most important is what’s in your mind and heart so great choice 😊!

    I only have 2 reptiles & I cant imagine having to pick! I would say my ball python, but I recently got my son a crested gecko & I have fell in love with the little guy!! So I guess I would choose my ball python since technically he is mine & the crested gecko is my sons. But I couldn't imagine you having to choose! Guess we can just be thankful for the moments we do get to spend with our pets!💚

    Hi Dayyan. You DID do an excellent job with today's or yesterdays video. I loved all of the close ups. And the messy eating is pretty cool as well. For the QOTD: I'd have to choose a bird if that's ok? I'd choose the Kea from New Zealand. They are so curious and inquisitive. They will go up to people just to see what they are up to. They love to use tools to figure out how something works. They are pretty awesome Little guys. Or maybe a squirrel. Who could hate a squirrel as your life long love?

  • @houndgirl7365
    @houndgirl7365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For me it would be my Argentine Black and White Tegu Damascus. I have a good amount of reptiles I love them all, but there is just something about him that made him special. He will crawl into bed with me of his own volition and just snuggle me for hours. He will accept head and chin pats for the most part, but when he has enough he will simply shake his head. I've been away from him for a while, but when my wife visited me and went back home he broke out of his enclosure and snuck into her travel bag to get in with the clothes that had my scent. It's crazy but he actually shows signs of missing his human. No I'm not anothropomorphizing anything I worked as a tech went to school for animal medicine... in this reptiles behavior it's just what I have observed almost like how a chick imprints on the first thing they see. Anyways I love my giant lizard and feel like we have so much to learn aside from what zoologist and biologists have observed since in captivity we as owners get to learn so much and understand more since in some cases we are that extra socialization for some species that are more social.
    Glad you are doing a bit better and taking care^^

    I would keep my bearded dragon Thorn she’s currently 11 years old, she’s the perfect mix of being really chilled and when she’s out on floor time really active and loves to explore. We have been through so much together in the last 11 years :)

      @Reptiliatus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks so much! It’s actually silkworm chow! My understanding is besides a gelling agent, it’s mostly just dried and ground mulberry leaves. That’s all silkworms eat btw, so either you feed them the prepared chow food like this or feed them fresh mulberry leaves off a tree if you can (better/easier option in my opinion but not possible in the winter).

    • @Shadow9Gaurdian
      @Shadow9Gaurdian 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Reptiliatus Thank you for the info! I was just thinking perhaps if the veggies I use for my feeders was ground into a paste, perhaps with a gelling agent like they use in that then it could last longer and be more nutrious. Since it would be easier to feed a blend of veggies (: however without a preservative it would probably still spoil quickly haha
