I'm so happy these little guys are doing well in your care! I've been in love with these frogs for YEARS! And I was so excited when people started having success keeping them. I was stoked to see you get a trio and now I'm even more stoked to see them active and seemingly pretty happy in your care. For a while, people were struggling with these little guys and everyone said they spent all their time burrowed and lived short lives. We're clearly dialing in on how to care for them properly and it's making me VERY hopeful that breeders will find success soon! I can't wait to buy a trio for myself in the hopefully near future! Please keep us updated if anything changes!!! We're all clearly very invested in these rotund little guys and are all cheering for your success in keeping them! 😊🐸
Lovely frogs. Personally I think that before making available for pets they should find out everything about them so proper care sheets can be formulated. Also they should only provide wild caught specimens to breeders and only be allowed to sell captive bred from those specimens to the hobby. It will save decimating the local populations that way. All too often new species are rushed out into the hobby for profits with little or no information on how to care for them correctly. Hopefully with your experience with them you'll be able to produce a decent care sheet for others wishing to get these beautiful frogs.
If you are looking to get into rain frog, instead of getting a desert rain frog, get a Asian painted frog. They got the same round body look as a rain frog, but they are bigger and cheaper because there is a larger captive breeding population in America, and are possibly a pest in parts of Asia. My small colony is very social and actually likes to greet me in the morning, similar to some tree frogs.
For those of you who are wondering why she is wearing gloves, also immediately NO they are not poisonous or anything to humans. It is because frogs like them have what is called "permeable skin". Their skin sucks up everything that is on it that's why you need to make sure their enclosure has a lot of moisture, but the main reason she is wearing gloves is because the oils and germs on our skin is not good for them and can actually be fatal or a health hazard, that's why people who get these frogs and don't wear gloves have to replace them so often because they aren't caring for them like they need to. Even larger frogs that are in very moist environments should be handled with gloves because they also have permeable skin. Edit: actually just if you are handling any frogs wear gloves, for your sake and the frogs.
@@pibly7784 not a problem I've seen a few comments about that and felt it'd be easier for them if someone just shared said info so they don't have to search for it, plus I know not all of them would be willing to take the time and Google it. Plus unless you watch people in the hobby that take care of these specific kind of animals, it's not knowledge everyone is going to know.
I watched this entire video and I literally couldn’t get over the little chonk stack! I zoned out on the first shot of the chonk stack and literally heard nothing after that 😂
It could be useful for you to sift the soil before adding it to the setup, if it’s too chunky… the sifting gives a nice and powdery, aerated consistency and that added aeration also helps compact and conform the substrate a lot better, for when they dig their burrows.
You could put down a layer of fine gravel and it would reveal where they hunker down, if you ever struggle to locate them. I've seen other people keep them is a course substrate, kinda like the Fluval aquasoil
They are incredible! Super cute. Will the position above the beardies's lights overheat or dehydrate the substrate? Do you use a fogger to increase the humidity?
Thanks for the video! 💚 Do you have to change all that dirt? If so, how often? 🐸 I'm so interested in these little cuties but, I know they're difficult to keep alive. For now I'm just going to watch videos of them, maybe sometime in the future I will try to get some. 💚🐸💚
Love them! Love 🐸♥️🐸♥️🐸♥️🐸♥️🐸♥️🐸 Thank you for sharing your babies with me, they're So cute!🐸♥️🐸♥️🐸 Walnut, Nugget and Biscuit, The Three Musketeers!!! Love them, and So glad to see them looking great. Love your enclosure you set up for them, looking good there🐸♥️💐🤗💐♥️🐸
as a longtime keeper of amphibians yet never had a rainfrog im based in the uk wales so our laws dont allow imports i believe its captive bred only but i really would love to have rainfrogs tho from people who have had them said "you don't see them much they said allot of the time they are just like potatoes in the ground" but from your experience kat would you say that they are active and are great for experienced keepers ?
I hope you're next video you get Black widow and breed it with the White widow when it gets big enough I would want to see what features it would have and I love your videos ❤️
Yaaaay, I'm so happy they're doing well with you. WC herps are a landmine. I hope to see more of them on your channel. I've been watching rain frog content by Asian creators for a while. They do some really strange things with them lol
@@sinenomine4540 lol, oops. I mean more of the frogs in her possession, not more wc animals. I'm not entirely against keeping wc as pets. WC isn't a black and white issue and imprisoning people for holding wild animals as captives is insane. The problem, imo, stems from the meeting of keeping and cwpitalism. Capitalism turns everything to shit.
Omg.. they DO look like little walnuts with legs!! So cute Kat! I'm curious about your gloves. Do you wear them to protect you from froggie cooties? Or are they on you to protect them from human cooties? Gloves aside, these are the cutest frogs I've seen OTHER THAN ...A White's Tree frogs. Those are too cute to shoot too!❤ congratulations on becoming a "Frog MILF"😊
I love these guys and your set up is the best I’ve seen. What happened to the 4th frog? If you’ve said in a spider vid I won’t know as I have horrendous arachnophobia 😔
You looked just like Samantha when she had to do housework before Darrin gets home with a important client! His boss Larry was ALWAYS springing impromptu dinner parties at Sam and Darrin's home. Ok.. I am looking up how much Rain Frogs cost..brb. 😳 $200!!!! Yikes!! that's for a medium sized rain frog!! But they ARE so cute..but.... damn.. I'll just enjoy watching yours!😅
After my most recent tattoo session....I can't look at other people's tattoos without thinking about how much that probably hurt. I usually tolerate getting tattooed better than last time 😅 Last time was rough though. It looks so good. So I will definitely finish this one and probably get more 😅
Where do you get their poop tested? Do you just take it to a vet? I've been following your journey with the frogs pretty closely. My mom absolutely loves frogs and keeps several. She would love some little guys like this
hello! I just found your chanel and wanted to ask how you do it with aircirculation in an "aquarium"? My Dyscophus guineti is currently also living in a huge aquarium with only ventilation on top. Sometimes I take the lid off and swirl the air around manually but I don`t really know if that does the trick... he needs high humidity which the enclosure has and a temperature about 24-26 Degrees Celsius which it also has. I`m still worried about mold. Looking forward to your answer & lovely video, kind regards
is there any particular reason they need to be kept in threes? also your hindsight in making the heavy enclosure in your bedroom is something i do not have. 😅
take an anime to take care not because it's viral but because A you love it B you are willing to waste some time to take care it well It's a responsibility
Hello, I see this is about frogs but I wanted to comment on your most recent video. I've been researching jumping spiders and I am looking at buying one. I've watched several of your videos, but do you have any other tips for a new arachnid owner?
You got it bro they aren’t fussy to keep. Just look at the size of their abdomen to see when they need feeding to prevent over/under feeding. Don’t bug them when molting

"🤓"
Actually, yes.
You're not smart or responsible enough to own them.
These aren't desert rain frogs though, they are common rain frogs and are not in risk of extinction
Aww they’re so cute and grumpy lol Great setup! ☺️
The rain frogs remind me of tomato frogs very similar behavior. They also squeeze!
They’re so flipping cute 🥰
I am sitting in the San Diego airport going through TH-cam videos and ran across your channel fascinating.
“I’m going to actually save that turd” 😂

So glad you're taking us on your rain frog journey with you. They are really cool.
I love the grumpy little faces. They are too cute!❤
Super cool frogs!
I like these guys a lot, I hope that we can learn lots about them so we can care for them the best we can. I'm hoping the captive breeding takes off.

Gorgeous little trio. Thanks for sharing! Bless you, family and all that you love. 🙏👍
Luv the enclosure Kat n the lil critters are so cute ...
They are so stinking cute!!!! Glad you’re doing well with them!!!
You should hook them up with a fogging system. Perfect for their moisture needs.
They are incredible! Super cute.

I love them and I wanna share I just got a new jumper I named onyx!
I love these guys and your set up is the best I’ve seen. What happened to the 4th frog? If you’ve said in a spider vid I won’t know as I have horrendous arachnophobia 😔
She only ever had the three. She got two first and then ordered the third 😊

Now, that's an acceptable enclosure for them ❤
Nugget a good hider 🙈 ❤
Don't forget to kiss your Potato Fairies, because they need love too !
How do you clean their enclosure? Do you have to replace the soil every so often?
Oh my gosh like living potatoes! Do they require any over heat source?
today is frog day I guess, tanner from Serpa designs also put out a frog video. neat stuff.
Creepy. I was just thinking that it's been a minute since I saw a video from you and here you are. All my best to Eric. Take care👍

The heat from the lamp underneath will cook your frogs what doyou think? New sub.

yes a vet
I Love These They Are So Cute

Suggestion: get another one and rename them like the witches from THE CRAFT. ;)
I love rain frogs ❤❤❤ 🐸 I hope to get some one day
Theyre so cute. I hope they last and we get captive bred soon! 🥰🥰
with some soils you need to fine sive them also try worms with frog as well and other bugs even blood worms
Does the water from the bottom get recycled some how? Or have to clean to replace water that gets stuck on bottom?
Small, Medium and Large is a nice set to have. ;)
Are you sure the bearded dragon enclourse can hold all rear weight on top of iy.
is there any particular reason they need to be kept in threes? also your hindsight in making the heavy enclosure in your bedroom is something i do not have. 😅
Can you do an update on your pacman frog pls😅
4 comment awesome video today Kat you are the best and happy Saturday you always inspire me 👍💯💪💪👍👍
I'm GOING to get some..... Eventually 😅
Those little frogs remind me of those packman game figures, a ball with a huge mouth.😹😹😹
Im getting some next month what do you recomend for temp and humidity?
Room temp has been working fine for me! (75-78ish) and I do one big heavy mist at night. But these things will vary by where you live!
Where's Bowser?
Is he ok?
take an anime to take care not because it's viral but because

Do they need any heat? If so what temperatures ?
Don't they normally feed at night so maybe they will eat better when its dark. Lovbe those cute froggos
