I went with the 'Essential" Duty uniform look. Don't need the other accessories or the other uniform look though the flute would have been cool to have. That was a great episode BTW. I Had been waiting for this version because I wasn't crazy about the QMX version. Awesome video.

That jacket costume started with shiny leather shoulders in its first appearance but it was changed later on to a matte material so the Exo 6 version is accurate to the second version. Thanks for the videos on these figures! You're the only TH-camr that's regularly covering news on the line and it's much appreciated!

I have the original QMX Picard which I love. But when I saw this new version I had to ordered the standard edition - the “Captain Picard Day” banner… GENIUS!!!

Great video as always Ben. I put in the pre-order as soon as I saw it come up. I went for the "deluxe" standard version. I am just waiting for the whole bridge crew to come together. I have the old QMX one and I always felt the proportions were off where the head was just slightly too big for the body. This one is more dialed in. I would anticipate Ricker coming out in the same shade of red. What they have is the set accurate color red which I am all for. Keep bringing great content as always and I hope you had a great time on vacation.

I really did enjoy the Darmok episode, so I will be getting the Standard edition with everything included. I do agree though, that the likeness is a bit off unfortunately. While I already have FC Picard and Locutus, I don't want to have too many figures of the same character, so this TNG of course will be the last Picard for me, as it's my favourite Trek series.
I'm gonna give the episode another watch and see if I still feel the same way :) it's been a few years! Also loved TNG most and have both of the same Picards. They are all different enough though to make sense for the collection! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!!
With a this release I move closer to where I would be happy if I couldn’t go further down the Exo-6 wormhole - just need Kirk from TOS and that’s the 5 OG Captains.

I have the QMX version and that head sculpt is pretty darn good. This head sculpt seems a bit off from the pictures but EXO-6 in hand typically do look better than the pics. Already pre-ordered and yeah the version names are confusing so I just look at the price points so I don't accidentally order the wrong one. It should be standard, collector and deluxe. Hopefully they don't come out with an ultimate version with just the figure and no accessories lol. Where are the TOS figures?

The marketing images are fairly ropey in terms of quality & rather questionable photoshop skills. Figure looks good although some issues; Collar pips are oddly melded into one blob, Collar red fringe a little too thick, Darmok jacket doesn't fit (too bulky), Jacket should have leatherette upper portion, Darmok shirt material too heavy/thick too. Hope updates will be forthcoming before release. 'When the walls fell...'
Very observant comment good sir! Gotta agree forsure! I doubt we will see updates though. For better or for worse, once exo shows what we are getting, they seem to stay very true to form!
This is definitely the best head sculpt. I found the first one by Exo-6 awful, particularly the lips and nose. This is much closer, but the neck is still too thick and the bridge of the nose isn't quite wide enough. Much better than Ro Laren, which I didn't think they got right at all. I do love Picard, but not enough to buy this. Don't have the space, given I'm focussing only on DS9 figures. I do like hearing you talk about this stuff, though.

Pretty sure it's called the Darmok version, as that's the first episode to feature the Jacket look. As for the Leather shoulders, it was that way in Darmok but later versions of the jacket were not Leather and was more a suede type material. Also it's not two bodies, it's two uniforms on the "Standard". Totally agree the naming of the versions is so dumb. What other accessories were you thinking you wanted with Picard? Cause I think that version covers a lot. The only thing I can think of is the statue he's given in The Chase maybe.
Honestly you're totally right!! When I said there'd be more I was thinking if want, I was thinking the flute from Inner light! But then later I noticed it and forgot to edit that thought our! The only thing I think would be cool are the little golden ships, Shakespeare book and his fencing saber but that would be possibly to deep a cut 😅 sucks about the not two bodies thing. I do not want to have to mess with the taking off process. I'm just gonna get a body for it, but sucks ot part of it. Thanks for watching and supporting as always!!
@@TheBenThomasShow I agree on the Shakespeare collection. I could also see maybe a miniature of the Star Gazer or the Desktop computer terminal from his ready room desk.
I got the standard version with both outfits. I didn't think about it coming with two bodies, but now that you mention it I will be disappointed if it doesn't come that way. I kinda feared that the reason the Duty uniform was a bit loose was because you had to undress and redress the figure to change uniforms. A separate body would be better and allow for better-fitting tailoring. I wasn't even expecting to be able to have a duty uniform option because the QMX version had come out with that and I missed it. So I am glad to be able to have both uniform options.

@@TheBenThomasShow Argh... agreed, I would have paid more for two bodies, even with having to share a single head and hands. It's just better than having to undress and redress a figure. If you find a body that works when this comes out, post a video about it. Thanks. I enjoy your channel for your coverage of the Star trek figures. I don;t get them all. I have the QMX Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, and Exo6 Sisco, and Data, with Laforge and Picard on Preorder, along with Savic on preorder. I didn't get more because they didn't look good enough. If Voyager figures had been better, I would have gotten them and I was on the fence about Arrcher so long that I never pulled the trigger. I think I'll be satisfied with a representation of the TNG crew and the Wrath of Kahn movie Kirk Spock and McCoy. Anyway, the quality of the Exo 6 figures seems very uneven, so I just end up hoping the ones I want the most look the best and have largely lucked out so far. I am hoping the Picard figure ends up being as good as it potentially looks when in hand and that the tailoring isn't a detraction in order to make the uniforms loose enough to swap between.
Looks pretty good. That uniform looks a little dark in terms of red. I have Exo 6 Kirk and Spock from the Motion Picture and really like those figures. I’m an TOS and TNG fan. I like DS9 as well. I may have to get this. Of course I’d have to get Data as well. The figures I’ve been waiting for are Kirk, Spock and McCoy from Wrath of Khan.

I’ll be getting the Standard version. I’m not sure I’ll rock the Darmok look, but I like the extra accessories. I always thought the idea of doing both screen and prop color uniforms was overly ambitious, so I’m not surprised that idea fizzled.
Agreed in terms of overly ambitious 😅 but then I wish there had been more of a vote from the community on which they would like to see more. I like the red more of the leisure coat but also prefer the duty uniform hah thanks for watching and supporting the show!!
I think the likeness will be better in hand. If you look at photos from WonderFest the headsculpt seems much more accurate. Exo-6’s studio photography sucks. And Exo-6 spends an inordinate amount of time and money trying to match the “studio” colors of the uniforms; so they are not screen accurate. I hate this approach. I wasn’t in the studio when they filmed. I want to see the colors I see on television. Nanjin Tam’s Facebook posts shows that his thinking processes are erratic and haphazard at best.

I've order this, but it doesn't quite scream Patrick Stewart to me. As for the wording Nanjin recently said something about this, that deluxe term is being saved for some special releases down the line
Interesting! I wonder what that means when we already have the likes of Kruge coming with the first ever Exo-6 hair and not sculpted! Would have thought that would be a natural next level. I swore I wasn't going to get a second Picard (since I have the FC one), but damn if I didn't want that NG duty uniform. So I got the Essential "Duty" Edition.
I don't use that many accessories on my figures, so the "base" versions are becoming my go to - depending on what accessory is behind that paywall.

Much like the TOS command color was actually green but appeared gold/yellow, the TNG command color is more of a wine red than what appeared on broadcast SD. The fake suede used on Picard's jacket reflects the light differently and took the dye differently. I own both accurate uniforms.

@@TheBenThomasShow Thanks. He really sweats the details in getting these colors accurate. I think it even says in the fine print on the website why they chose not to go with the leather shoulders on the jacket and went with the suede look. The leather version only appeared in one or two episodes and then switched quickly thereafter. My guess is due to the reflection of the lights in the smooth finished leather.🖖
I haven’t ventured in the area of EXO-6 yet. I am a big Star Trek fan. I used to watch the original series reruns as a kid and am old enough but still a kid when I saw the movies in theaters. My favorite is still Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan. I loved The Next Generation show as well and the figures looks great! I’m not sure if I will collect this line but I have to say it’s very tempting. Darmok episode was ok but my favorite was Yesterday’s Enterprise and Picard Season 3 was amazing. Great video and content Ben.

Captain Picard is a must-have for Trekkies and TNG fans... I pre-ordered the standard edition. I need the Earl Grey cuppa tea lol.
Picard also wears the jacket in a standout episode where he uses his wits to get a Klingon cloaked ship to head to Romulus to track down Spock.

Most likely I’ll get the standard edition with all the accessories knowing I’ll never change his outfit.. the headsculpt is pretty good. I don’t expect any changes before release. I am very nervous about how they do Riker. That headsculpt is going to be ‘interesting’ to say the least… but hey we got 3 of the crew now!! Bring on the rest!

The neck is too thick, the eyes look angry while the mouth has a slight grin, the jaw is too wide. They have plenty of reference material to nail the look but fell short based off these photos.

But I don't know about this one...we'll see. I think my wallet is still holding off on Kirk, Spock and Bones from TWOK...which will come out at some point????
Dude thanks for the kind words!! I also love data but TNG is always gonna be my favorite! So I plan to get the bridge crew either way. The first contact Picard will look to old next to the rest and not look complete because of the uniform. If you plan to get the crew I'd say Picard is a must. His relationship with data will always be one of my favorite parts of their show. If you only had two tng, they'd be great or with a geordi! I currently have locutus next to first contact data and like it despite it being wrong timelines lol twok will come! But who knows when !
I believe Najin said that Exo-6 is offering the "Darmok" edition for those that already have the Qmx Picard figure and didn't want those buyers feeling pay walled into buying the Standard (deluxe) edition just to get the "Darmok" uniform. Also I believe Najin said they may be offering an option to buy just a nude body in the future. BUT for me, I'm going all in on the Standard (deluxe) edition. And as to favorite episodes, I am opposite of you ...I really liked the Darmok episode and find the "flute" episode extremely boring....yawn...to each his own.

@TheBenThomasShow Yeah, I like the Darmok episode because Captain Dathon felt that establishing communication, for his people, with the Federation was so important that he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to make that happen.
