I'm a physician and I dealt with lots of trauma as an anesthesiologist for 35 years. I've flown for 45 years including competition aerobatics, many backcountry adventures in Colorado, Idaho and Utah and also, gliders. I'm now a retired tailwheel flight instructor. I am data driven and have realized for many years of reviewing accidents with professional NTSB and FAA Accident Investigators that proper helmets can save many lives. Many fatal accidents would not be fatal if the pilot was wearing a proper helmet. Food for thought. I'm sure glad to hear Mikey is on the mend!

STOL like flying combined with dropping in and out of these remote and often unfamiliar locations, adds another element of risk to what is already quite a dangerous activity. I've been flying sport aircraft for some time, and when visiting remote locations I research the area hazards, wires top of the list. Always ask the local pilots what to look out for. Lastly was he actually landing or doing a beat up when he struck the wires? Glad he survived and will recover.
At the first landing mid-video, I was watching that power line, while you were quite high enough not to be a factor. Whishing the best of recovery to this gentleman. By the way, that fuel gage isn't exact. You have a sinusoïdal sensing mechanism and a liner scale gauge.

Any data on how the vertical area (forward of cg)added by large tundra tires may affect “ yaw coupling” or rudder authority at high angles of attack? I’ve flown most GA aircraft, jets and turboprops but don’t have experience with tundra tires. I have owners tell me no but some aircraft could be more susceptible.
@@dtwyckoff I would think the surface area forward of your CG would have a negative affect on the amount of vertical surface area of your tail. It would be interesting to see if they have any affect on the rudder or elevator at different angles of attack and bank.

Went through my prop without a scratch, caught my spring leaf gear about 6" down from the fuselage, all it did was scrape a little paint off my spring leaf on the leading edge! All I knew is I went forward in my harness and then heard a loud "PING" piano wire sound, it was a single strand line going out to a barn, was I ever LUCKY! Taught me a LIFE LESSON! I NEVER, NEVER flew below 500' unless I absolutely, "Like drive my truck around the field" KNEW 110% that afield was clear and safe!
