It's a Duck! The Story of the DUKW Amphibious Vehicle

A boat. A truck. A boat that's also a truck. And a truck that's also a boat. In World War II the US military needed a vehicle that was able to operate on land and in the water. The DUKW was born, called simply the "Duck" by the GIs.
From former duty in wars, the tasks of the versatile 6WD amphibious truck shifted to deployments as rescue vehicle to a swimming tour bus in tourist locations all over the globe.
