I have to disagree, this is one of the best RCR episodes simply because it is fan-written but still RCR-edited. Also because it has much more automotive, gaming, etc pop culture references as well as an assortment of americana than the usual RCR episodes. And the first and foremost: the references and the content do not feel dated even more than 2 years down the line (or maybe i am just old).
That was fun, now never do it again. Or, if you do it again, don't do it as a regular monday episode... This video had some good cracks, but it missed the RCR vibe. Conflicting viewpoints made for an incoherent narrative, describing every facet of the car individually but not all fitting together to form a clear picture. Because, in the end, it isn't the BROWN jokes that make RCR so great: It's the story you tell in each and every review. From the PT cruiser, to I'm Your Dad, to the Avenger insanity, all of the iconic RCR moments come not from the joke, but from the image.

Agreed. This episode doesn't do it for me as a whole. It feels like a bunch of loose ends and oneliners that don't really tie together that well. Of course that is expected if mulitple people write stuff for one review. I like the fan interaction, but I don't think its something Mr R. should try again. Very well explained.

Eh, I don't care what people say. I think the Aston Vantage is one of the most beautiful cars ever made, even if it is in a rental car-ish kind of way.
It's timeless in it's simplicity, and remains high on my list of dream cars.

not gonna lie, but I sorta fell in love over the modern Astons over their subtlety, which I personally felt sporty cars lacked in recent times.
Same, there's something about having a car that can have its limits pushed without being noticed, not exactly a sleeper but like you say, subtle.

Based on the closing song, you guys seem genuinely concerned about the death of the manual transmission. I think your trip to the UK will be an eye opener. Recently, I did some research into the manual/automatic split here in the UK by sampling the cars for sale on Auto Trader. The split came back as 70/30. That's 70% manual, 30% automatic. I think you'll like it here. Also great idea for the fan-written video, more please! I am not on Reddit due to not having attained the requisite level of nerdiness to want to be involved with it, but if you do another fan video, I may just have to sign up. I would say next time you should do a proper regular car like a Taurus, or something else that everyone can relate to and will have a story about.
