Most underrated band ever! Everbody talks about Santana. This band did the funk, the blues & the deepest disco. Does not get any better. Which is why class DJs like Theo Parrish keep playin em!
There were so many funky bands of those days it would be hard to pick "THE BEST" IMHO. Suffice to say WAR was on of them for sure. I had every cassette the majority of them put out mid 70's. It was a time the funky sound was 'IN' and we boomers were glad we were alive.
Hi Dave. Any clue why they broke the band up? I saw and got my pic taken with the entire band in 2015 or 2016. They asked me backstage after I was singing every song with them from the audience. Wonderful People's wonderful flashback music for me.❤❤❤🙏

i've been looking for an extended concert performance by the Lowrider band for a while and i finally found it. This is awesome. My fave live album of all time is "War live" and this concert reminded me of it. We had War tour downunder a few years ago, how i would love to have Lowrider also tour Australia one day. Post pandemic of course!

I never knew this Video existed! This is the Concert We did in Washington, with Tommy Chong! A Fantastic Heart Tribute Band Opened for us, and were so Kind, to let me use their Keyboards! The backline order got mixed up for me, and Chuk Barber, our Percussionist! In the 70s you couldn't ride the strip without hearing Cisco kid or low rider I'll never forget it I still play mine at least once a month go lowriders and the original WAR

I’m guessing this came up in my list because the other night I came across and watched the other band with the ONE original member, “WAR”. They were playing a gig outdoors at Venice Beach, CA in October of 2021. A couple things, I need to note. First, they never mentioned this band, not once! Second, that band’s one member wrote a lot, if not most of the songs AND most importantly, SANG lead on all those songs! Third, that version, to me sounded better! Lead vocals, and grove wise! Sorry, but for me this version doesn’t appeal to me as much as the other version.
You can feel their collective heart! I had full gratitude for being able to donate my time as a camera operator. They were always on my bucket list, just to see in person. 💞😇🙏🥰

WAR was a band that wanted to represent the world cultures through music. so they like Carlos had afro am, latin am, mex am, causation for the deep south jazz, blues, and ppl on the band brought the original sounds to integrate in the songs

This is my favorite studio recording band not LIVE !!!!! However I have to be honest as a fan here we go::::: THEY ARE HORRIBLE WHEN THEY PLAY LIVE. THEY ONLY PLAY SIX OR SEVEN SONGS IN THE 2 HOUR CONCERT AND YOU CANNOT RECOGNIZE HALF THE SONGS or the lyrics!!!!! The three new musicians added are always trying to figure out what new THRASHING version of the song they're doing on stage.., 😤😷 TIP FOR YOU GUYS ,, FAKE WAR and LOWRIDER BAND,,,, PLAY THE SONGS THE WAY THEY WERE RECORDED!!!!!!!! Lowriderband and the fake war out there I classified them as one of the worst live Acts. They are what we musicians call the garage jamming band... Are they off their peak, crisp, talent from their musical prime back in the 70s through the late 90s? Well, honestly, yes. Are the two current groups pieces of a rich rhythmic puzzle which is somehow just not complete without the members in the other group and those who are jamming in a heavenly choir now? Definitely. (Although, of the two, I prefer this Lowrider Band). And yet, can they still bring enjoyment to their fans while having great fun onstage night after night as a band of brothers? Undeniably!
Doesn't matter what name they use if they can't play the songs the way they were recorded and try to make up lyrics and notes and talking all the way through the songs the songs are unrecognizable the harmonica player here's a tip for you not every song should be a solo😮😮
