Why isn’t WAR in the Rock and Roll hall of fame?? They are such a unique and POWERFUL BAND!!! They have their own style for sure! I heard that they were jamming with Jimi Hendrix the night before he died. But yes, they’re such a unique band and NO OTHER BAND THATS IN THE RRHOF SOUNDS LIKE THEM! One of the rawest groups ever. Their instruments did the talking. Unheard of now. Tribal funk at its best. Lee Oscar is the only harmonisist I know that has that signature sound and carries the bands distinct sound. Classical music of my era. And proud of it.

I saw WAR a long time ago in a hot club with only one-way out which my mother told me never to go to a clubl ike that. However, it was WAR and I went anyway,, by myself.. They played for 3 hours. Now, it's the Low Rider band. I must see them again before I die . They party and I love it
I was cruising the other day blasting Cisco Kid, I forgot how badass the song was. If you have a real sound system in your car, it makes it all that much better. All the different instruments come to life. If you cant relate to War, something is wrong with you.

Aww my days at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, fall 1973 and I had bought Deliver the Word.. But before that I had War Live and all day music and bolero just rocked my little ole college dorm room.. Back then you could get this converter for DC to AC and hook up your eight track in the house.. I had exotic curtains, black light posters, about 6 speakers all throughout the room up high. My room mate had the coolest room and everybody wanted to hang.. Then Fall of 1973 I went to Soundwarehouse and bought 3+3 by the Isley Brothers And War.. But I had gone to OKC one day and went to this brothers apartment. Hardly no furniture in that front room but what he did have was this bad component set.. He put on low rider and we just jammed.. and course up and down the highway and by ways.. You was in world with your Music.. We went to see them at the Civic Center and afterwards bass player BB Dickerson rode around Oklahoma City with us looking for barbecue.. BB had this bad green leather outfit with vines design on it.. The dude was cool.. During that era War was one of the most influential groups of that era. The 70’s. LB December 24, 2021 (Christmas Eve- Merry Christmas to everyone and God Bless you all)..

Lonnie Jordan stabbed BB in the back and he found out he was sleeping with his wife!!! The band hired Luther Rabb for the last album,..it didn’t work the BB element was missing,,,so they tried it again with peace sign without a bassist and at that point, the guys realized dude was a snake, so they regrouped without Lonnie, but Lonnie won the court battle for the name…. So he hired some Mexicans and his family members and trying to pass off as the original.

Legal matters between original members of War & Jerry Goldstein who owns the trademark name War. Members wanted out of Goldstein's control & offered to legally purchase the rights to War, Goldstein refused. Members Brown, Oskar, Scott & B.B. Dickerson walked away & formed their own group calling it the Lowrider Band after the band's biggest hit. Lonnie Jordan decided to remain with Goldstein & created a new lineup using the name War, he's the only original member in that lineup. Hope that helped.....
Great band. I've truly loved and enjoyed the music that they have made. Forever thanks for this video. My only problem with it all is ; the sound man. Whoever is in charge of the sound board should be either fired from his job or taught how to bring sound forth in a much better way. The vocals were way off. I'm just watching and listening from my home computer. Thanks for the privilege of doing so. But the vocals on my end were way off. Sound man; get it together, because on my end it sounds off. Not as Good, as it Should be. Howard, Harold, Lee, Lance, Pete, Cal, Chuk ; thank you for a job well done. But Please get a sound man who knows what he's doing. God Bless.

Make No Mistake About It...Let it Be Written:HOWARD SCOTT HAROLD BROWN and The One and Only LEE OSKAR..This is WAR.I recall WAR as being the Band No One wanted to Follow in Concert.My Favorite Thing was when POPPA DEEr.i.p.would demolish,destroy His Percussions on Stage at the End of their Performance.The First Band I saw do that was BLACK OAK ARKANSAS With Guitars,but now I understand why PAPA DEEr.i.p.did it.They used several variations of WAR as Their Name including RAW WAR spelled backwards.Some bullshit Music Business dispute(They were Gifted,but not Educated)LONNIE JORDAN Decided to Take The Money and Run and took the Bands Name with Him.His picked up some Mexican kids at the border gave them some cheap ass instruments while he played and sang everything on synthesizer and ran around calling them WAR.I saw where RAW was to Perform at THE HOWLING WOLF Music Club on St.Peter St in New Orleans.I though I'm sure I'm not the Only One to discover this,It's a small venue so I better get there Early It'll be packed.I arrived about an hour and a half early.There was no one there.I was sitting at the bar and at about 9:45pm a small crowd of guys came rolling in.I was like wait a minute...at least 3 of the guys came over to bar and sat right next to me.I looked and it was the Band Member on all the album covers with the funny looking eyeglasses.It was The whole Band except for Lonnie and PAPA DEEr.i.p.whom had passed on.I was like You'll are WAR? He responded Yes.So We start talking and I'm putting set-list together.I requested that they perform SO from the WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS Album.And as I began making requests they became Silent and we're just Looking at Me,which I was still tripping off the eyeglasses they were as Funny in person as on the album cover.I didn't mention them and held back laughter as he spoke, remember I was already at the bar for about an hour.Now here comes another Band Member with The Sad Ass Story about Lonnie Fucking over them and legally preventing them from performing certain Songs and Using Their Name.I was Pissed and Bored at the same Time.All the Enthusiasm for A WAR Concert was gone.Not only did I not Understand it I didn't want to.The drummer was on stage warming up and ups walk LEE OSKAR Harmonica in hand.He walks up to a Mike and started to play slowly.I got up and walked to the stage and stood directly in front of him and just stood there.He stated to pick it up,I stood there about ten minutes and His Legs started moving I stood there for another ten minutes Got a Private Live Performance by LEE OSKAR and the Drummer and I walked out.I left Feeling Sorry for them.I don't Support Lonnie and his bandinos.But I took to social media on this Once Before and Since Lonnie found a guy who Sing the Hell out of SO and He posted it.I was truly Impressed but wouldn't pay one penny to see him.This is WAR.I See they recruited LANCE ELLIS From McDonough 35 High School on Sax.Both He and His Brother were Excellent horn players and We hung out for a minute trying to put something together while in high school,but it never happened.Long Live The Surviving Original Members of The Band WAR..Love&Peace😁😎 luv ya byo eJ
