I'm on disability and couldn't find a steady job in my town so I started scraping earlier this year and any trip to the scrap yard is a good day for me
Im disabled and I scrap when I can. Its an honorable thing to do. Your keeping it out of landfills recycling it and keeping control of yourself not asking others for help. know a scraper have something made of metal has a cord on it going to toss it out. Let him take it. Thats the honorable thing to do.
I have been scrapping, basically on a full time basis since 2010. If I would have any money management skills at all, I would be well off today. Some weeks, I earn more than $800. I love this stuff.
Try junk removal. Customers will pay you to haul off their washers and dryers. Then you scrap them for additional funds. That's what I do. Scrap hauls usually cover my fuel expenses.
scraping is good as a hobby for extra income but if you are retired is not bad you are helping to recycle and getting exercise and get to meet many different folks, ill be starting to scrap soon but it will be only e waste

This is an old video. After covid-19 started, the prices of scrap have skyrocketed, making it more profitable than ever. Copper #1 here right now is $3.50/lb. Highest I got was $3.85 once
since i never could find a job i been scraping for years. I make what ever I make better nothing and living on the streets. what I don't like is the heat of the day and doing the best I can during the summer months.
I need to have scrappers stay away from my display tables for my yard sale (not trash day). I was looking for screws one day to screw the table top back onto the metal stand, and some metal scrapper took my stand! What an idiot! How am I to display my other items that I am giving away? I can't place them on the ground, they are not trash!, and the street is right there. The items would get extremely dirty. When in doubt ask, because I will call the police for theft.

never jump in a dumpster that you can't pull yourself out of. Scrap what you can get and forget the rest that's stuck or too deep. safety first.
