loved it…. the build up, the ambiguity, the clever subliminal messaging and the big reveal. And as for the playtime bombing about in the “new boat” at the end - such fun. Great episode guys, really brilliantly put thought through, filmed, edited and promoted on FB. Highly entertaining….
Man that’s a really encouraging comment to read. Thank you! We work really hard to bring an interesting story (our life is interesting enough but capturing it and sharing it can be challenging at times) to everyone each week and we hope that people enjoy our editing style but it’s rare to get a comment from someone actually noticing any of it. So cheers! So pleased you enjoyed it.
Smart t o have a back up safety line. Our lifting harness failed, but the motor was saved , just, by the back up line. Enjoy the Highfield, it is a beauty!
Yeah, we had nightmares of the outboard dropping all 15m to the sand below so I’m pleased we put something there. Sorry to hear about the harness but relieved you saved it. Bet that wasn’t a fun moment.
Well you had me all in on the boat sale. I thought i was losing another favorite channel on TH-cam. I even felt happy when you led us to believe it was for a new yacht. Then laughed when it turned otno a dinghy. Good play guys. I'd love to buy your old dingy, but shipped to Florida would cost more than a new dingy, most likely. Loved the kind of 80's style race montage at the end. So much fun, definitely made me smile. Im sure you will come up with an awesome name, im horrible at naming things like that. I had a hamster named Aldronon once(see horrible) i named a chihuahua Titan (ridiculous) i wanted to name a Rottweiler bubbles ( see crazy)lol. Good luck with the naming. Have fun with it.
We had some fun editing this episode. Pleased you enjoyed the journey. 😊 The 80s music video had us in stitches too. Only missing a blazer with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows and a quirky sidekick.
You guys are one of the most entertaining sailing channels but don't show up until noon on sunday and by then I'm usually off doing something so have to come back to watch your videos - today I got to it after a hike with the puppy (7 yr old lab). After every "reveal" type hint, I try and figure out what the actual story is - always entertaining. Some folks who run out of gas never learn - glad to see you understand your limits and plan for them. New "vehicles" are always fun to take out the first time!! Donate for a Dream
Haha cheers! Just love getting to share the adventure with everyone. We will keep trying to release videos and posts as long as we can. Might need to sell off a kidney at some point to keep food on the table but who needs two anyway 😂
Ok guys… after personally changing out 4 engines in a boat that my father and I built… I was grieving over the blood sweat and tears of changing out two diesels in Idinoko… I was feeling pretty Blue just like your new engines… but then you guys had totally taken me in with this “bait and switch “ routine now so hilarious … You really got me! Well done… don’t ever change your day job creating crazy video content!🎉😂
It’s been a bumpy year when you think of it like that. The engines have been a massive change for us and still pinch ourselves to think we managed it with everyone’s support. Telling the story of this adventure is one of the main reasons we love being on it. Hope you enjoyed the episode
Hi guys, well congratulations on your new Dingey Highfields are a wonderful brand.. Hopefully you’ll get many years out of this one. Keep up the good work. Always enjoy your videos , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 we are on the big island 🏝️
Cheers! Yeah it’s going to take some getting used to as we rarely get new things to play with. Here’s hoping we can keep it looking as shiny as it does.
😂 love that idea. We are going to spend some serious time deciding this one. Can’t wait for Annapolis. Have you checked out our schedule? Www.red-seas.com/annapols
So excited to join forces and give away some seriously cool boat goodies!! Reminder to anyone reading this to head over to the website to sign up www.red-seas.com/annapolis
Well we all fell for this one. YOU TRICKY RED ?Hits. However This Is Why We All Love You Two And Can’t Get Enough Of You. Wishing you the very best and hope that when at the Boat Show you will have a wonderful time. ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊. Stay Safe As Always. As someone else said here in the comments You Two Are Bonkers And Don’t Ever Change. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
😂 thanks. We hope it wasnt too much of a roller coaster for you. Has been for us. Looking forward to catching up with some people at the boat show. We still need to work out what we should film there.
Hi, yes absolutely we would. We use it every time we jump in to do a quick scrub. Well worth it. We have been hearing from others who bought one too and they say the same thing
The end of the line for private ownership is 25 m, above one needs a captains license and paid crew. I thought from the beginning there's a trap In here. But why did you get a new dimghy?
hoi goede avonturiers ik ben een grootte fan van jullie ik ben ook een zeiler ik heb een ik heb een phantom 28 8.5 meters 2,75 breed en ik hoop jullie ooit te ontmoeten en hoop wel op het water
😜 it’s actually pretty much the same size (350 vs 360cm) so not much to worry about there. You might remember when we built our davits and installed an electric winch. We made sure to over spec both to be ready for something like this to happen so hopefully our maths is correct 😂
I reluctantly changed my 👎 to a 👍… you got a pass only because of Billy Connelly, Craig Ferguson and the Fringe festival. The Highfield is good kit. The aluminum (aluminium?) hull is awesome. Dink
@@RedSeas I’ve never actually used the 👎 on any YT. Y’all work hard and I appreciate the story telling. If I don’t 👍, it’s a “meh” and that is as bad a rating as I would ever give. This wasn’t close to a “meh.” So many are leaving the sailing content creators. I miss R&S, and hope Millenial Falcon comes back soon. Both were favorites and had good reasons for the hiatuses. (Same with Atticus but they are just landlubbing. The jury is out on continuing to follow a camper channel, though)

It’s amazing to get to peak into the lives of other sailors for sure. And it’s funny what people find interesting. For us, this has been almost exactly 12 months in the making, emails, calls and sailing hundreds of miles just to get to this day so it was quite a big deal for us. Hopefully you find some of our sailing episodes a little more to your preferences. 😊
Going to have to check out the episode for details. I suppose in that sense it’s baiting you to actually enjoy our episode but not looking to upset anyone or steal a view.

The Cluthas. .. the paid old steam ferry service boats that worked a service like buses up and down the Clyde. It's called the keel or Chine... Loved that last remark Bri tossed.... Iain, Iain, you're our man, you can do it, 'cause anybody can! I literally laughed out loud.
Glad you enjoyed it. This is the abuse some of us have to live with every day 😂
LOVE A GOOD 80s MUSIC MONTAGE! Congratulations, guys! Looking forward to seeing you again at the boat show 🎉❤
I only regret we didn’t finish in a freeze frame of us doing a high five 😂 can’t wait to catch up again.
with all the people leaving sailing i was worried, then excited with a new boat, then laughing... well played :P
I know, it’s been such a shifting tide lately. Funny enough, we were worried, excited and then laughing too but perhaps for different reasons.

It was a fun episode to edit for the same reason.
Just went through it with sailing Atticus so you got me good.
It’s been an emotional couple of weeks for the TH-cam sailing world. While our news may not be so huge, we do love Linc the Dink an awful lot.

Since it's a HIGHfield, I think you should name it SNOOP.
Haha that’s a great shout. We should add it to the short list
I was actually wondering when you would get the new dink.
You did have me there for a few minutes.
So were we
Well deserved!!!! How about floaty potato!?
😂 spud is a fun idea
You can dance with all that room in that new boat.
It’s wild
You guys changed two engines, so transferring a dinghy motor should be like doing it in your sleep. 🙏🏼.. I have full faith in you guys. 😕
I’m glad one of us is so optimistic lol
Nice new dinghy! 30HP engine... my engine is only 8HP, and that is for my boat (I don't have a tender)😂
Yeah, that outboard continues to be one of those happy accidents we made but what a beast it is!!
Probably a bit silly but call it Mr Fields because you’re going to a lot of different location/Fields
Ooo that’s a fun one to add to the list. Very formal when we great it in the mornings 😂
Thank you.
You're welcome! Hope you enjoyed hanging out
Call it we go!
😂 we go (fast)
Bri, it takes practice to look that good getting into a boat. 😂
And we will keep practicing I guess
Just quick question, the hull cleaner you mentioned a while ago, would you still recommend it?
Maybe looking at buying one.
Many thanks
Hi, yes absolutely we would. We use it every time we jump in to do a quick scrub. Well worth it. We have been hearing from others who bought one too and they say the same thing
A big ole Highfield! You all be stomping in high cotton!
I mean we would never have been able to replace Linc the Dink without winning the award last year and that being the prize.
@@RedSeas I know. Still be crusing and bruising big time on the high seas!
Does it have that new smell?
Going to buy a pine tree to hang on that bow step lol

Totally. So much fun

Name the dinghy "moana uteute" red sea in Tahitian

Holly crap your getting a new boat….but how? I told you Ian’s parents were rich. 😂🤣😂🤣
Exciting isn’t it!?!??!
Ya don’t sink the new dinghy, put the bung in… 😂 …. No tie line, no bung….have you guys ever been on water? That’s what newbies would do.

love the drama !
😂 think we could live without it sometimes but what better way to handle it than to share it in video
I think the dingy is too big. Will your dingy lift handle it. Keep the other one a while.
