Hurrah for Captain Beale and the Phoenicia. And all those who have risked life and limb for this great cause. This is a great series and shows that ancient sea travel not only could’ve happened, but it probably did happen, with Captine Beale in the “Phoenicia”sailing around Africa, and then sailing across the Atlantic into the Americas is proof of this!!
Come to Montrose, Iowa across from Nauvoo to see the restoration of the “Phoenicia”at the Phoenicia workshop

Don't you realize that you have presented a false dichotomy?
      Is 1 Kings 19: 11-13 "Biblical?"
Why won't you believe The Old Testament?
      Is Matt 16: 17 "Biblical?"
      Why won't you believe Jesus?
      Is James 1:5 "Biblical?"
Why won't you believe The New Testament?
      Is Luke 24: 32 "Biblical?"
Why won't you believe The New Testament?
Why do you miss-use scriptures to try and make your point?
You try to use Matthew 7: 15 to assert that all prophets today are "false". Why don't you tell the _truth_ and include Matthew 7: 16-20? Why won't you believe *Jesus* when he said that Prophets in _any_ time would be discerned " _by their fruits_ " ?
Our God provides a plan for all of His children to become like Him through His Grace and His Covenants, whereby His children may inherit ALL that He has. In short God expects something of us who choose to carry His banner.
I get that you believe you are doing God a service. John 16:2.
You do not know what you say when you accuse our Brethren Revelation 12: 10. Is it a pride thing with you? Or are you parroting what you've been told by others?
      Revelation 12: 10
"..for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.."
I testify to you in The Holy Name of Jesus Christ that these things are TRUE. And will bring you joy beyond anything from this earth! IYou are invited to humble yourself and recieve the messengers He sends you Matthew 10: 40. Repent and be baptized Acts 2 and follow the Covenant Path with us on The Holy Highway of Isaiah 35! Come and see Brother! John 1: 39.

So many choose a risk free safe life and are afraid of everything. I love the reasonable risk takers tale. These things give life purpose for the adventurer and scientific truth for the followers. I love the agenda-less pursuit of science in this story. It is a non-cynical approach to life. No snowflake types in this story.

The Phoenicians likely were sailing to America to pick up tons of copper from upper Michigan that was mined anciently by the Jaredites. Then taking it back to the old world supplying much of the copper for the Bronze Age. Much of that copper was sent down the Mississippi to Poverty Point where it was likely picked up by the Phoenicians. (No one actually knows what happened to the 100’s of tons of copper mined anciently from MI but this video gives a good idea.

The Jaredites are the "prophets of old" spoken of by Nephi. They were in Jerusalem. It is the Jaredites that Lehi sees in the Tree of Life Vision.
The Book of Ether describes their migration South to Egypt, their building of large and spacious buildings, their wearing of fine linen and their conversion to those that "mock". The Jaredites are destroyed in Egypt and it is their demise Lehi sees in the vision.

      Joseph - Manasseh, Ephraim
      1 Chronicles 5
5 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: & the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
Because of the birthright, Joseph was entitled to a double portion of the inheritance from his father, Jacob. Ephraim was assigned to preside, or lead, the family of Israel. Ephraim & Manasseh were each given one part of the double portion of inheritance & became two of the “tribes of Israel.”
      Genesis 48:13-20
13 & Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, & Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, & brought them near unto him.
14 & Israel stretched out his right hand, & laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, & his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15 & he blessed Joseph, & said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham & Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; & let my name be named on them, & the name of my fathers Abraham & Isaac; & let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
17 & when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: & he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
18 & Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
19 & his father refused, & said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, & he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, & his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
20 & he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim & as Manasseh: & he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
      Jeremiah 31:31-34
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel, & with the House of Judah:
32 Not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My Covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My Law in their inward parts, & write it in their hearts; & will be their God, & they shall be My people.
34 & they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, & every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, & I will remember their sin no more.
      Jeremiah 31:9-12
9 They shall come with weeping, & with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a Father to Israel, & Ephraim is My firstborn.
10 Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, & declare it in the isles afar off, & say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, & keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
11 For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, & ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
12 Therefore they shall come & sing in the height of Zion, & shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, & for wine, & for oil, & for the young of the flock & of the herd: & their soul shall be as a watered garden; & they shall not sorrow any more at all.
      New Testament
      Hebrews 10:16-20
      16 This is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put My Laws into their hearts, & in their minds will I write them;
17 & their sins & iniquities will I remember no more.
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
      20 By a New & Living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh;

      The Promised Land
      Apocrypha
      Testament of Naphtali 2:1-18
1 For in the fortieth year of my life, I saw a vision on the Mount of Olives, on the east of Jerusalem, that the sun & the moon were standing still.
2 & behold Isaac, the father of my father, said to us; Run & lay hold of them, each one according to his strength; & to him that seizeth them will the sun & moon belong.
3 & we all of us ran together, & Levi laid hold of the sun, & Judah outstripped the others & seized the moon, & they were both of them lifted up with them.
4 & when Levi became as a sun, lo, a certain young man gave to him twelve branches of palm; & Judah was bright as the moon, & under their feet were twelve rays.
5 & the two, Levi & Judah, ran, & laid hold of them.
6 & lo, a bull upon the earth, with two great horns, & an eagle's wings upon its back; & we wished to seize him, but could not.
7 But Joseph came, & seized him, & ascended up with him on high.
8 & I saw, for I was there, & behold a holy writing appeared to us, saying: Assyrians, Medes, Persians, Chaldeans, Syrians, shall possess in captivity the twelve tribes of Israel.
9 & again, after seven days, I saw our father Jacob standing by the sea of Jamnia, & we were with him.
10 & behold, there came a ship sailing by, without sailors or pilot; & there was written upon the ship, The Ship of Jacob.
11 & our father said to us: Come, let us embark on our ship.
12 & when he had gone on board, there arose a vehement storm, & a mighty tempest of wind; & our father, who was holding the helm, departed from us.
13 & we, being tost with the tempest, were borne along over the sea; & the ship was filled with water, & was pounded by mighty waves, until it was broken up.
14 & Joseph fled away upon a little boat, & we were all divided upon nine planks, & Levi & Judah were together.
15 & we were all scattered unto the ends of the earth.
16 Then Levi, girt about with sackcloth, prayed for us all unto the Lord.
17 & when the storm ceased, the ship reached the land as it were in peace.
18 &, lo, our father came, & we all rejoiced with one accord.
      Book of Mormon:
      Alma 63:5-9
5 & it came to pass that Hagoth, he being an exceedingly curious man, therefore he went forth & built him an exceedingly large ship, on the borders of the land Bountiful, by the land Desolation, & launched it forth into the west sea, by the narrow neck which led into the land northward.
6 & behold, there were many of the Nephites who did enter therein & did sail forth with much provisions, & also many women & children; & they took their course northward. & thus ended the thirty & seventh year.
7 & in the thirty & eighth year, this man built other ships. & the first ship did also return, & many more people did enter into it; & they also took much provisions, & set out again to the land northward.
8 & it came to pass that they were never heard of more. & we suppose that they were drowned in the depths of the sea. & it came to pass that one other ship also did sail forth; & whither she did go we know not.
9 & it came to pass that in this year there were many people who went forth into the land northward. & thus ended the thirty & eighth year.
      The Mentinah Archives
      Book of Hagoth 1:1
1 Behold, I am Hagoth, & I am waxed old. I write this book so that my generations may be kept & so that the acts of my people may be recorded. I am that same Hagoth, the son of Hagmeni who was the boon companion of Moroni & followed him in war & peace. & it was my father who was a builder of walls & battlements who assisted Moroni in subduing the enemies of the Nephites & in securing our lands & our religion & our freedom. The same was my father, & he descended from that Zoram who took the eldest of the daughters of Ishmael to wife; & also from Jacob the brother of Nephi, whose father took his journey into the wilderness from Jerusalem when Zedekiah was king; & also from that Simeon who was a Priest of the Temple, who took his journey with Mulek when the Benjamites retreated from ruined Jerusalem, & also from that Mulek himself, who was son of Zedekiah the King. Wherefore behold, I am descended from Joseph, the same who was sold into Egypt, & from Aaron the brother of Moses, & also from Judah.
      The Old Testament
      1 Kings 11-13
11 & the Word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,
12 Concerning this House which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in My Statutes, & execute My judgments, & keep all My Commandments to walk in them; then will I perform My Word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
13 & I will dwell among the children of Israel, & will not forsake My people, Israel.
      Zachariah 6:12-15
12 & speak unto Him, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch; & He shall grow up out of His place, & He shall build the temple of the Lord:
13 Even He shall build the temple of the Lord; & He shall bear the glory, & shall sit & rule upon His throne; & He shall be a priest upon His throne: & the counsel of peace shall be between them both. (the royal government & the royal law of God united in a single office)
14 & the crowns shall be to Helem, & to Tobijah, & to Jedaiah, & to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
15 & they that are far off shall come & build in the temple of the Lord, & ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent Me unto you. & this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.

The route taken was likely the route of the Mulekites (for those who don't make it to the end) whereas Lehi rounded the Cape of Good Hope, Africa.
Both routes today, are well known sailing routes.
Ancient mariners mostly relied upon the stars for navigation. Maintaining a positition relative to the stars, allows for staying on East/West headings and maintaining an approximate lattitude.

You're welcome to direct me to a host of Biblical passages, but the Bible (more than any other book) is subject to endless interpretation.

On the contrary, we spend a full year focusing exclusively on the Bible and then the following year, on the Book of Mormon etc. Sunday School however, is not what it used to be and class-time is much reduced. Emphasis is now being placed more on Individual Gospel Study.
To that end, I've committed myself to read the entire Standard Works (cover to cover) each year for a minimum of five, consecutive years (I've just completed my third reading.) Of course this is not my first reading of the scriptures, just a personal goal now.

It's no surprise that the Phoenicians were recruited to help build the Temple of Solomon, they had experience building megalithic structures, namely stone henges, including those below the surface of the Great Lakes, where they mined copper in present day America for centuries, leaving more and more Haplogroup X genes behind each year. These stone henges under the Great Lakes, all over Europe and the Mediterranean and down into Africa were used to determine when it was safe to sail to avoid seasonal hurricanes.

Her are the similarities. It's more than the "narrow" neck of land.
#1 Herodotus associates Asia with "desolation" (except India). "As far as India, Asia is an inhabited land, but thereafter, all to the East is desolation". Book 4, Chapter 40, Section 2.
This is the same "desolation" as in Alma 22:32 and refers to Asia. Asia is delineated from Africa at the Isthmus of Suez. This is the "line" Bountiful and Desolation in Alma 22:32.
#2 As you pointed out, Herodotus claims "Egypt is narrow". This is the Isthmus of Suez and is the Book of Mormons Narrow Neck of Land. Book 4, Chapter 41, Section 1. Alma 22:32 calls it the "small neck of land".
#3 Herodotus describes the seas on either side of the Isthmus of Suez. He calls them the Red Sea and Our Sea. Book 4, Chapter 41, Section 1.
Alma 22:32 calls them the Sea East and West. Both are describing the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
#4 Distance: Herodotus then describes the distance across the Isthmus of Suez. He claims the distance is 125 miles. This isn't very accurate but it is what it is and what he thought at the time. Book 4, Chapter 41, Section 1
Alma 22:32 also describes the distance this time in days traveled. You can see they both attempt to describe the distance across the Isthmus of Suez with varying degrees of accuracy which is expected for the primitive measurement techniques used in 600 BC. .
#5 Herodotus claims Africa is surrounded by water except the Isthmus of Suez. "Libya is bounded by the sea except where it borders on Asia". Book 4, Chapter 42, Section 2.
Alma 22:32 repeats this by saying the Land South is surrounded by water except the Small neck of land. "The Land of Nephi and the Land of Zarahemla were nearly surrounded by water there being a small neck of land between the Land Northward and the Land Southward.
Can you not see my concern? Can you not see that Herodotus might be describing Lehi and the same sailing we read about in the Book of Mormon. If Lehi circumnavigated Africa, he ended in Egypt. This is why his descendants describe Africa in Alma 22:32. They got the "map" from Lehi.
This is very troubling to me and I need answers.
If Lehi was in Africa then the Tree of Life Vision was a map to the Biblical Garden of Eden in Ethiopia per Genesis 2:13. It fits the description of the "head" of the river because Ethiopia is the source of the Nile River. Many Jews made this journey and became Ethiopian Jews.

There is more evidence for the book of Mormon (migration) then there is for human caused global warming, evolution or the big bang. All three theories by the way. The Book of Mormon has stood the test of time while under fire. This is just more corroborating evidence. I wonder? Were there climate activists during the second half of the ice age? I imagine them dressed in orange, blocking muddy dirt roads to stop this crazy infernal melting
