Shut the front door that is awesome!!! Love it Kimberly! Way to go! Technically you are making the same stitch. You are really creating a better way to execute it!
I adore that your logic is you don’t like taking stitches off the loom. That’s why I’ve never learned to purl 😅 Will absolutely be trying this technique out, thank you so much! This is genius.
Kimberly, THANK YOU!!!!! as I stated before...I'm new to Loom knitting, but I think I get your instructions. Thank you for being so kind and patient, it is greatly appreciated. You do such beautiful work, you should think about doing a tutorial from beginning......on how you started your beautiful linen stitch project. Thanks again...........a total fan!!!!
You are one smart cookie...coming up with a method to avoid removing a stitch from the peg so often. I LOVE IT! This also looks more like a needle-knit linen stitch that another I had tried. It was pretty but not quite authentic linen stitch. Thanks, so much.
Thank you for this video. I make hats and scarves for a local shelter and this will definitely be making an appearance. As soon as my knitters elbow gets better, I'll be trying it.
The BEST! I've been looking for something more interesting than a simple knit stitch, yet not too advanced for my skill level (beginner). This is both easy and nice-looking. Edges don't seem to be curling either. Thank you!!
It's true. it doesn't curl. And it looks so intricate. One thing to remember, though. it's pretty slow going. It takes 2 rows to knit every stitch, so you might get a little discouraged when you don't see it growing as fast as you are used to. Be patient. It's worth the weight.
Thank you so much for this! Much easier and faster and just as pretty ;) Something you said at the beginning of the video reminds me. . . I was a needle knitter before i picked up loom knitting. For this reason i too don't like purling, or any loom knitting that involves taking loops off and on the pegs, moving them around, etc. To me these things are just clumsy, difficult, and slow on a loom - which defeats one of the main advantages of loom knitting. . . So if you - or anyone reading this - knows of any websites, TH-cam channels, etc that specialize in loom knitting WITHOUT purling and taking loops off the pegs, moving them around, etc, please give me a shout back :) Thank you!
this is awesome!. I just got an S loom and the pattern is calling for purling every other stitch. was worried i would never touch the pattern again LOL . Thank you so very much for sharing !!!
I am new to loom knitting and trying to "teach myself". I absolutely love the linen stitch. Would you explain how you started, how you did your cast on. Thank you so much!
Kimberly....thank you so much. one more quick question, is every row done the same, knit over then "your stitch", knit over......, and then so on..., back and forth until you reach the size or complete the project?
@@kimberlycarrigan8824 I don't know if two years later you're still active on this channel... I'm sorry but I didn't understand how to do the cast on... (I guess I'm even more of a newby....) Do you have a video of how to do it please? And how to bind ofc as well please?? Your stitch is exactly what I was looking for!! I just need help on how to start and finish...
No, it is not a purl or replacement for purl. It is a hack for a slipping the yarn behind the peg without having to lift the stitch off of the peg. Here's a complete instruction th-cam.com/video/qno1Ec5Zr24/w-d-xo.html
So my question is what if u just put the yarn in back towards u and that case then it would just be flipped. Iv seem someone else do it I think it's just a hack easy way of doing it.
Angela Stringfellow You get the same results no matter how you get the yarn behind the peg. This only makes it easier. If you are using an Afghan loom, it might get really annoying picking the yarn off the peg after a while. If you got sick of it and switched to this method, it wouldn't look any different.
this is not a substitute for purling; you can't use this in place of a purl. what she is doing substitutes for the traditional method of a "slip stitch, with yarn in front (wyif)."
+vegangelist yes yes..that is what I ment.. yarn over, but still a great way to do it since working with 100% can be tight..this method will make it a lot easier and faster to do 😏
@@kimberlycarrigan8824 Is a true knit when you lay the yarn across the front of the peg and knot over? Is the true knit stitch a more less stretchy fabric?
+Kimberly Carrigan do u leave the 1st peg/starting loop alone when u cast on? & the ladt peg?? or u add like the others to it when casting on? sorry for asking alot of ?'s just when I do mine it just looks wrong n it's bothering me....lol I did my cast on n took it off like 3x's... -_-
+DomoLadii, put your slip knot on the first peg. Wrap the second peg twice. Knit over. pull tight. Knit every peg that way until you do the last peg. then turn around and start your first row on the second peg. Always start your row on the second peg.
Shut the front door that is awesome!!! Love it Kimberly! Way to go! Technically you are making the same stitch. You are really creating a better way to execute it!
I agree bravo! If this really works as a purl, I am there! Very clever!
GoodKnitKisses can you make a baby blanket this way or do you have a video of you making a baby blanket I’m new To looming

Thank you. I think these would make gorgeous placemats.
thank you very much for showing how to knit the quick linen stitch
I love this! The technique for wyif is awesome. So much faster to do and more fun. It's like magic! I love it! Thanks so much. Great tutorial!!

Oh no, this isn't a substitute for purling. this is a substitute for a wyif. This is for a linen stitch, not a seed or rib stitch.
+Kimberly Carrigan ohhhh, sorry bout that. :)
thank you! as a new loomer, i cant stand to purl but i also dont want my work curling in. thanks for showing this to us. 😳
That's pretty cool. Lots better than the other way. Thanks for sharing it.
My husband and I constantly grab each others scarves so this is perfect 🥰 it's gorgeous. What weight yarn do you use? Thank you for teaching us!
Hi what type of loom do you use I would like to purchase 1.
Thank you awesome teaching
I am new to loom knitting and trying to "teach myself". I absolutely love the linen stitch. Would you explain how you started, how you did your cast on. Thank you so much!
Anna Nash , put a slip knot on the end peg, e wrap the next peg twice, knit over, pull tight, move to the next peg and repeat.
Kimberly....thank you so much. one more quick question, is every row done the same, knit over then "your stitch", knit over......, and then so on..., back and forth until you reach the size or complete the project?
Anna Nash Yes. knit the purl backs and purl back the knits. over and over. then purl the last row and do the super stretchy bind off.

Hi Kimberly....Love this stitch...thanks for the tutorials.....For this stitch ....what would be a good cast on and cast off?
I love the way this stitch looks. Does this stitch prevent curling on the ends/sides? If not, what do you suggest? TIA!
❤❤❤❤❤❤thanks for video love
Thanks posting new to looming. I think its called linden stich. Love 💘 tp loom
Is this stitch the same as a regular purl stitch in the way it looks or is it a total different stitch in the way it looks for knit and purl patterns.
No, it is not a purl or replacement for purl. It is a hack for a slipping the yarn behind the peg without having to lift the stitch off of the peg. Here's a complete instruction th-cam.com/video/qno1Ec5Zr24/w-d-xo.html
Would doing this pattern but with an e wrap row in between each other row work?
I've never tried that. Go for it and let me know how it goes.
Can this be done when knitting in the round on a round loom? It is gorgeous!
can you tell me where I can get this loom, and the name of it? Your work is great, Thanks!
Do you have a video that you made a baby blanket using looming
Thanks how many row
So my question is what if u just put the yarn in back towards u and that case then it would just be flipped. Iv seem someone else do it I think it's just a hack easy way of doing it.
Yes, many people flip the loom over. It doesn’t change the look of the fabric.
This is brilliant thanks.
So did you start your pattern from right to left if you did the chain cast on?
I don't remember. But it doesn't matter. It's the same both directions. Slip the first stitch, knit, wyif
+Kimberly Carrigan thanks for that. Was just wondering would that purl over stitch and e wrap combination work together one row of each?
+Becki Barnett the purl back is a slip stitch. You can't do a row of slip stitch. I'm sorry.
+Kimberly Carrigan ah ok thanks
quick question, I use pulling the peg off the loom, how much of a difference would it make on the Afghan loom?
Angela Stringfellow You get the same results no matter how you get the yarn behind the peg. This only makes it easier. If you are using an Afghan loom, it might get really annoying picking the yarn off the peg after a while. If you got sick of it and switched to this method, it wouldn't look any different.
Love this stitch, thank you!
Is this the KB all in one loom?
It's the Kb sock loom 2

Thank you, Kimberly!
fantastic cheat! not a fan of purling either. will have to try this soon.. thanks for sharing!

Will this work with a flat knit? Or does is need to be wrapped?
of course! I've also used it with true knit.

I was wondering how you start the stitches on the loom?
1957katlady I just did a double e wrap cast on. wrap a peg twice, knit over, and pull tight. Then move on to the next peg and do the same thing.
How would this look as a blanket?
Trinity Morningstar Somebody is making a blanket with this stitch right now. I guess we'll see.
Trinity Morningstar I think this would make a beautiful blanket!!
thank youuuu. i hate pearling
how wud u start the cast on?
I did a simple chain cast on. You wrap a peg twice, knit over, pull tight, and move to the next peg.

true knit
Angela Stringfellow Yes. you can use true knit.

No. It's linen stitch
