I would like a vocation that learns enemy moves. Like a bluemage from the ff series.
I would love an "Monk" Vocation

I somehow forgot to mention this in the video itself, but do note: Conqueror's Periapts are your friend. They boost your strength and can be stacked up to four times, these are an absolute game changer especially in more challenging sections of the game like Bitterblack Isle. Naturally, this advice applies to any physical vocation as well.
Do they boost the best skill in the game? Radiance? 🤔

Legendary series. Just binged the entirety of it because I'm finally getting back into DD after completing the base version all those years ago on release!
If you're up for a shorter video, covering Chaos Legion would be absolutely sick. The variation in legion combos and the surprising complexity behind them and the general combat is insanely underrated. And it's another Capcom game deserving of a sequel!

@@ThiefofCrystals It is really complex. A lot of mechanics for each legion including s, just frames, charge attacks, defensive charges for stonks, grapple attacks etc.
If anything play it again for the experience (on hard mode) and banging OST! All the best.

Recently found your guide series while playing the game again and I've really been enjoying it! They're an excellent mix of informative and entertaining without being so heavily edited that it's difficult to keep track of. Your humor lands for me basically every time and I'm excited to see what your future videos hold. It's great to see a community for this game is still around as I only discovered it a couple of years ago. I'll definitely be taking your advice into consideration as I try new builds while playing the game again.
And of course, it's most important to remember "Wolves hunt in packs!".

Hey man, I randomly found your channel looking up something else Dragon's Dogma related and the guides helped me learn a lot of things I didn't know about the game before, I even ended up getting back into the game and playing a new playthrough (A Sorcerer at level 49 or so now already, because damn I forgot how sick the magic in this game looks). There was a lot I never found and going back through the game using an actual quest guide has made it a lot of fun.
I think you did a great job with these guides and they are all really helpful, thank you for taking the time to put them together. I have no idea if Dragon's Dogma 2 will live up to the hype though I very much hope it does, but when it's finally out I'll have to look for your guides first.
Last time I played I didn't end up playing the Bitterblack Isle DLC though I did check out a little bit of the post game stuff. I've heard from comments and my friend who did that it's even better than base game so I am pretty well looking forward to that!

I actually did Brawler unintentionally from level 10 to 20 when I switched from Fighter to Warrior and couldn't find a freaking Two Handed Sword! Fun

I have been playing Dragon's Dogma since a little after it's original release. Which is to say, there's nothing really "new" for me in these guides... and yet, I binged the whole series anyway! They were a joy to watch, with great tips for new players and extremely funny all the way through. Def linking them to new and prospective fans!

Now as i also have played as a brawler i also want to add while it's not really a class playing as a shielder (only with a shield) is also very fun and adds a huge amount of strategy and options on how you fight different types of enemies only being able to perfect block for most of your damage is hard af

Reminds me of the Akuma addition to monster hunter rise. All they did was make the sword invisible and give it different sound effects. Works quite well. TH-cam it.

Man, would be cool if we got a full brawler playstyle in DD2. That, and something with spears. The Dragonforged used a spear after all, although we can only get the broken off spear points to use as daggers.

Take a look at my videos friend, I uploaded the edited down playthrough a little while back (couldn't upload the full playthrough because this happened a long time ago and I lost the VODs)
Great video, but you haven't told us how you dealt with the Ur-Dragon's wings as a brawler!!! My life is incomplete without that knowledge, I MUST know! :P
So for that bit I had to compromise or I simply wouldn't have been able to defeat it with no range, I did use a bow but I actively used the worst bow I could and was actually doing *less* damage than my fists had been
@@ThiefofCrystals You know, I'm kind of glad to hear that. I know you CAN hit the wings with every attack because their hitbox is accessible when the wings clip through the ground (during his 'oh no I can't get up' phase and a few other moves) but that's incredibly finicky and I'm glad you didn't subject yourself to that pain :)
Really hate the trend with recent action RPGs implementing full unarmed movesets only to either make them completely useless or locking any usefulness behind tedious preplanning/taking advantage of niche mechanics
People like to punch things, if you're making an action game you can and should capitalize on that

Huh, didnt know you could use both the dodge roll and double jump without a weapon equipped (since it specifies them as dagger skills)
So long as you're on a vocation that uses them, if you aren't using weapons the game apparently shrugs and says 'close enough'

Will you ever cover modded stuff? For example the Greatsword Max? Also second question, you play on Hard mode? Even though I am doing it on my first playthrough the gold is so good to have.
You didn't mention the Warrior's Ferocity augment, does that not give a damage boost without a weapon?

What does it take to get to infinite level?
"Infinity" actually just represents level 200, the highest in the game.

A little late to this party but I have a burning question: how well do pawns take to the brawler life? I can think of a ton of beat em up duos who could make for an interesting double brawler run (Ryu and Ken?) but that hinges on the pawn getting into the fisticuffs as well (and grinding a fair number of bloody knuckles).
Also, I hope Dragon's Dogma 2 has a more comprehensive unarmed moveset. We need a "you have no secondary weapon equipped? Here's some unarmed moves to give you more attack options" moveset.
Sadly Pawns are incapable of becoming Brawlers, since when they have no weapons equipped they simply don't attack. :(

I would genuinely love to (just got done raiding earlier) but I'm not sure what I'd do exactly! Not only have classes been covered to death by people smarter than me it would basically be impossible to create a 'guide' at least in this format given how the game itself plays. I'll definitely consider any suggestions though, and I do intend to make a 'Magic of FF14' one day!
@@ThiefofCrystals You're not wrong. There are tons of guides for the game. I'd suggest doing a more personal video about the things you like and dislike about the game and what keeps you subbed.

Are these guides optimized for hard mode BBI?
I wouldn't strictly say my guides are "optimized" in any sense, they're intended to give a quick and accurate summary of the various pieces of each vocation and how they function, but if it affects anything I have been playing on hard mode the entire time.
BBI is interesting because certain tactics that may not be as prevalent elsewhere in the game can suddenly become distinctly powerful - Magick Archer's Ricochet Hunter is an excellent example.
What about DDoline? There are some new vacations. It would be very nice if someone makes an vídeo about it... I dunno, dunno. Just thinking...
I'd need a reliable way to play, but apparently there are private servers going or in the works? I'll have to look into it more
@@ThiefofCrystals I was trying to find out if there is one and is sounds like a Discord group is working on it or currently has one going, but it's not polished and things like levels are set in place and so on. If you guys find out more and it seems decently polished i'd like to know about it too.

Honestly, BBI is to Dragon's Dogma what PvP and optional bosses are to Dark Souls. Sure, you can skip it, but where's the fun in that? Go on, dip your toes in. It won't suck you in and never let go.

HONESTLY I really REALLY wanted to make 'Piewalker' - literally a vocation built around throwing pies to kill enemies, but pies specifically do such insanely small damage that it actually seems impossible to kill bosses and such because you cannot physically carry enough pies to take down their health, if I can figure out a means of making this pan out (could maybe work on normal difficulty specifically) or substitute a less shit but still funny throwable, I'll gladly revisit the idea!
@@ThiefofCrystals Throwblast works fine with strenght and can burn for DOT any boss and skulls to reduce defence and almost forget about vandal's ring

This series was so much fun to watch and quickly became my favorite DD content along with the stuff infinite cringe makes. It's bittersweet to see it end but I'm excited to see what else you make because your sense of humor and editing are amazing
