- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 24 ก.พ. 2024
- What’s up yall in today’s video we’re going to pan flush 9 qts of ATF +4 through a nag1 automatic transmission (W5A580). This task covers all 2012-2018 Jeep wranglers that have automatic transmissions and 4wd. I will also be replacing the OE fluid pan with an Upgraded Doorman oil pan with drain plug (865-866). They say its the best upgrade pan for this transmission which helps keep things nice and clean under there, so with that lets get under the Jeep and do a 90k miles transmission fluid exchange. Thanks for watching🍻

old fluid still looked ok,hard to believe with 90k miles.maintaining vehicles will keep em alive longer great job.(now if only I could teach my customers this lol)
Yeah it wasn’t too bad, I do a pan flush about every 15k to keep it clean. Maybe this video can get out to some more customers. lol 🤷♂️ thanks for watching 🍻

Good job Doorman on the drain plug placement😂
Drill tap put your own plug in where you want it.( new pan)
This is where I was headed but not many are set up this way, and the pan was fairly cheap upgrade. 🍻
Good transmission. MERCEDES BENZ 722.6. Worked on a lot them and they are very reliable. The only problem I ever saw was from owners not doing this.
Good video 👍
Thank you 🙏 🍻
I wanted to see if there was enough clearance for the oil pan to clear without lifting the transmission and this video was very helpful and got even more information. Thanks for including the fluid amounts too and showing how the drain on the new oil pan works.
I have some comments/reservations about the new oil pan if I may:
The issue I have with the pan is that it is painted power coated; Over time and especially due to the constant contact with the transmission fluid, the finish of the oil pan may age to the point of possibly flaking off or dissolving. Which then of course could create some major issues. Anyhow, just my thoughts, hopefully my concerns are unfounded.
All the room on the pan and they put the plug right above the exhaust lol
Not exactly over, but yeah 🤣. Still works though 🍻
@@ATEMOFFROAD I’m still getting one 🤷🏻♂️ easy to be the best option when it’s the only option
Very interesting video, thanks. Could you please share the model of the Doorman Pan with drain plug?
I was checking out the PPE pan. It has the drain plug towards the front of the vehicle/exhaust. Definitely more costly though.
Yeah I was looking at that one too, and not a bad option at all, but kinda out of my price range at the moment. 😅 thanks for watching. 🍻
Great video. Yea pretty dumb where they put the drain plug. I guess its better then not having one.
if you find out what thread the drain plug is, you can always run a FUMOTO oil valve
I need one of those, I want to say it’s a M12 x 1.25 but I’m not 100 💯 sure. If you do this mod can you share with us? Thanks for watching 🍻🙏
For next try Shell atf134 is made for the 722.6 , nag1. 5 and 7 speed mercedes. Os a better option than the mopar atf4
Great video bro! Yeah this has been an on-going issue with the Dorman Trans pan. It's been brought to their attention on more than one occasion and they still haven't' addressed it. Nevertheless, I'm happy to see that there's at least some sort of upgraded pan with a drain plug on it. I was looking at the one PPE offers which has fins for heat dispersion and a drain plug too! What's your thoughts on that one?
Thanks bro, I’m just happier now that most of the fluid gets in the cup rather than all over the driveway 🤣 not exactly the best drip but hey the mess is less. Thanks for watching 🍻
I really should think about changing mine but I might just pay up and have someone else do it 👍
It’s a job that’s for sure, hoping this pan will help with the next few services. 🍻
im scared to see what it looks like when i remove the pan. jk 167000 miles...
did your nag1 have any transmission whine when accelerating?
No at all I’ve had zero issues with this transmission 😅🤞 thanks for watching 🍻
What about the oil inside the turbine?
This method you will never get all of the old fluid out, but you will get most of it. This is why I recommend the doorman pan with drain plug. This way you can cycle and drop the fluid out as many times as you want after the first initial pan drop and filter replacement.
Thanks
Good video, Can we invite you to do a review for our product?
