It was because he is dks cousin so maybe he asked him for help later
Batboy no. Funky was launched shown in the beginning when he landed into a plane. No explanation. Never appeared in the intro. And any excuse saying maybe he got blown away off screen I still think that they did lazy work. Funky should have been in the intro And ending.

well duh, that cutscene was pre-rendered.
Funky wasn't in the end cutsence beacause he was looking for his own originality.

Jimmy John Joe its from the donkey kong tv show which there is a easter egg to the show if you go to funkys flights as funky a red bird will take his place and if you leave he has a chance of saying get em with the old banana slammma which was donkey kongs catch phrase and the stuff I was saying about anyone can dance is a part of a song funky sings in one of the episodes.

Gotta say...this was a really lazy port.

How so? They've added in new things, it's 1080p now, Funky speaks for himself. I'd think a lazy port would be just a straight port of the original with no changes.
And the game itself is still amazing.
It looks like a straight port with no changes. 1080p is always fine but it's expected for 2018. Funky Kong is just a reskinned Donkey Kong who makes the game easier. What about new stages, ability to use Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong on their own, how about the return of animal buddies like Expresso, Winky, Rattly, Enguarde, Squitter, etc. All these things they could have added but they didn't.
Evil Trapezium you can use diddy and the rest on their own when you beat the game
