I will give 10000000% if given the opportunity, I want this so bad, becoming a Law Enforcement/ police officer is a dream for me, heck even Corrections is as well.
As a former Explorer of the LVMPD in the late 80's early 90's if the department really stressed the physical fitness aspect than all of the officers that i personally witnessed that became morbidly obese and still keep their job would have been fired!!!
If you know anything about law enforcement and you watch the cops show, all it does is show how unprepared cops all over the country are when compared to the cops from the east coast. I wont say too much on it but its true.

They do run with their recruits. Most of the academy staff actually do marathons or are a part of a running club. The police work in Vegas is gnarly to say the least. You have to be able to think through stressors such as yelling to make split second decisions. If you can’t handle yelling in the academy, you’re not going to make good decisions in the street. If you can’t make good decisions in the street, you’re not going to be an officer for very long.

They need to raise the bar on their PT. 20 min for 1.5 miles is a joke.
