A brilliant player. There’ll never be another David Daws! Such technical mastery, tone and fluency in his playing! I love listening to him play especially accompanied by the ISB!! Thank you for your ministry! ❤
What ministry? Have you read Catherine Booth who was very critical of people who wasted time, pretending to be preachers of the Gospel "...your talk will be as sounding brass or tinkling cymbal. Oh! it makes my soul weep tears of blood to think of the misdirected effort that will be put forth this very Christian Sabbath. Plenty of labour, but how little comes of it!"* - 'How to work for God with Success,' Catherine Booth, Short Sermons. * No wonder the Lord's work is done in such a bungling way! I say those who want to be successful in winning souls require to watch not only days but nights. They want much of the Holy Ghost, for it is true still, 'This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.' We have grown wiser than our Lord now-a-days; but, I tell you, it is the same old-fashioned way, and if you want to pour out living waters upon souls, either publicly or privately, you will have to drink largely at the fountain yourself, and have them very ready to let out! If you have not, your talk will be as sounding brass or tinkling cymbal. Oh! it makes my soul weep tears of blood to think of the misdirected effort that will be put forth this very Christian Sabbath. Plenty of labour, but how little comes of it! All because it is cramped, and ruined, and misdirected, for want of thought and prayer, and a single eye for the salvation of souls. May God rouse us up to this, and make us willing to think, and labour, and learn, and wrestle, and sacrifice in order that we may do it. - Catherine Booth would have been very disappointed at a Salvation Army that was diverting its energy into the playing of music rather than the proven of meeting the needs of the poor - the evidence is clear. www.sermonindex.net/modules/articles/index.php?view=article&aid=29815
Yet at the same time the greatest avoidance of conducting the true mission of The Salvation Army, to help the poor out of their misery. Something to be proud of, indeed.
Not now - he's lost his lip. But instead of taking the hint from god about this being connected to his pride, and turning to helping the poor, he just moved to euphonium...
Yes it says what a self centred narcissist David Daws is and how silly people are to applaud him for over 2minutes... while ignoring the mission of the TSA to help the poor grow out of poverty.
I would like to point out that David was Helped With His Cornet Tuition in No Small part By My Dad(Bandmaster Alan Barrett at Greenford) who is in Heaven Looking down on him and Smiling Now. God Bless You David, You are an Exemplary Soloist that I dont think the Salvation Army Will Ever See or Hear again, on Cornet or Euphonium. Take Care. Former Bandmaster Andrew Barrett(Greenford). Now in Kings Lynn.
Where would the world be without talented, inspirational teachers? Thank you for reminding us of just how important teachers are and I give special thanks today for the teaching and influence of your father. It's true that as time passes - people forget how great things and people get started...but God Never Forgets. God Bless
I wonder if David thought all those years ago that he would be sitting next to me in Sale Manchester eating pizza with the Birmingham Citadel Salvation Army YP band

Brilliant playing. First time for me! Top artist.
The greatest display of cornet artistry ever recorded, regardless of the couple of clips. Extraordinary.

@@johngowlett471 Providing quality Christian art to the world contributes to that mission in its own way. The world needs music.
Wonderful playing .Enjoyed it very much. Thank you.
True cornet mastery. Cannot be faulted.
I love David's sound

Beautifully played, such a lovely tone, up there with the best!
Legend, Beautiful
great massed band performance & soloist of SA David Daws ♫♪
Beautiful. Sheer artistry. Phrasing that should be a lesson to all aspiring players. Every note says something!

You sound extremely critical of a man demonstrating his God given talent. How very un-Christian.
@@johngowlett471if you are a true Christian, I think I prefer to stay on the dark side - where people appreciate other people's efforts.

I miss playing my cornet !

Why did you stop
Muy hermoso
see the second cornet player of the ISB looking up and raising his eyebrows at David's slight mistake at 35 seconds. .
it the solo crt player (front row) ☺ ♫♪
Yes, banding is SO judgemental. You know what is not judgemental, getting out and helping the poor instead of judging each other on lip-work...
