This is like the one physics mod I've actually felt compelled to replay through the whole game with. Everything else felt overdesigned or not at all built with the game's systems in mind, but this one pulls off momentum-based speed in a way that doesn't take away too much from the game's core design. It's a really fun time and playing it alongside the new Graphics Enhancement mod is making Frontiers feel fresh and brand new.
It's cool because there doesn't feel like an over-reliance on the spindash somehow. One of the few mods I've personally played that had good ground momentum as well.

There’s some information about the next mainline game Sonic Team’s working on: About how the working title is Frontiers 2, how it has much bigger islands and much more emphasis on speed, physics, and fluid movement, and how they’re most likely going to build off of what was done in Frontiers. I really, *really* hope Kishimoto’s team has noticed the New Genesis mod and can take cues from what’s been done in Frontiers and Generations’ modding scenes so an offical game can have gameplay like in this video and like in CD’s and Unleashed’s cutscenes without the modding community having to tweak so much of it.

I think all this needs is the ranking system from Chaos Polarity (the one that gives you rings for higher combo strings) and this would be my ideal mod pack for Frontiers. Even without it, this seems like an amazing experience that leaves me salivating as I desperately await my new computer to arrive next month so I can properly run the thing, because I wanna try this so bad! But the reason I want that ring bonus is because it made the Super Sonic fights absolutely peak! Having a way to regain rings without slowing down the pace, said way being based entirely on your skill with the refined combat mechanics, it was literally everything I wanted from Frontiers combat. Especially with how much harder it made those Titan fights, making you need to rank up just to survive, was absolutely SICK I don't know if that feature exists as a separate mod yet, as I'm pretty sure New Genesis isn't compatible with Chaos Polarity (High Speed Style wasn't, at least not the last time I tried), but I really hope it becomes one someday because I NEED that

I've always thought a DMC combo ranking system would be perfect for Frontiers, and the way it implements it along with the other combat changes is just awesome. It's way tougher than Vanilla, and you're forced to vary up your moves to keep your Phantom Rush Gage up, as it depletes way faster but does SIGNIFICANTLY more damage to help chip away at the enemies much larger health bars. It's definitely not for everyone, but I think it's worth giving a shot if you're up for the challenge. I think it got an update somewhat recently too
Kronos Reimagined mod it's actually the most polished beta kronos mod with story changes cutscenes, bosses fixes objets and has the most bug fixes I hope you try that in a new frontiers story playthrough.
@@DolphynsDeck Kronos Reimagined is the cleanest experience out of them all, with moved cinematics and moved Giganto. Starfall Island is the most expansive, with it building with the FH set data and it's re-rendering of cutscenes that i sadly haven't gotten in realtime yet- True Kronos is probably the most customizable and the most vanilla out of them all, so it's really up to you to pick which one of those you like the sound of more.
I LOVE THIS MOD SO MUCH, It fixes nearly everything I dont like about frontiers. The only thing is when i spin dash or drop dash the sound is incredibly loud and I dont know how to fix it. But apart from that it is a FANTASTIC MOD.

YES! I agree fully! Sorta related but at first I was honestly turned off by the alien robot designs because they had no personality while fighting. The Cyber trail gives me an idea: How about repurposing the Boost as a "mode" you have to achieve by reaching high speed? Basically, a modern version of Advance 2's Boost Mode. This kind of Boost would actually be more satisfying than a mere button press. If someone could change the Cyber trail to have the Boost's aura, plowing properties, and the sonic boost-esque effect when triggered, I'd love that. I'd also give the rolling its own kind of Boost aura, if possible - smaller, has the center closer to the ground, and perhaps looking similar to the Slide effect so it looks more intimidating, heh. Edit: Also make it do slightly more damage than the standing Boost, since it's technically two moves combined.
So I finally got it to work. I tested the adventure conversion mod and surprisingly it works with new genesis, though it takes away the ability to attack and breaks the rolling feature making everything a spin dash it actually isn’t a bad combination it makes the boost unnecessary on rails due to the trick boost in the conversion mod as well. Overall it’s a good experience if you want to make the game as adventure as possible and I recommend you try it with the bounce bracelet if you do try it.
And I’ve been playing the open zone stages like this and boy oh boy it feels like a completely different game. Cyberspace feels soooooo much better no matter the stage length
If I Were To Make A Request The Creator Of This Mode, It's To Make Combat And Physics 3 Options 1. The Combat Changes, 2. Physics Changes, And 3. Both. I Gladly Will Play For The Combat, But Mess With The Physics And That Will Heavily Effect My Rating.
i have actually tried this mod and i have to say it feels really slow compared to actual momentum physics if you dont have max speed, unlike actual momentum physics from games like sonic GT (which i would love to have a physics mod of), it feels like a crappy port of the sonic 2 physics into 3d games also spindash feels like its meant to slow you down, not speed you up
Anyone know why after I collect the green chaos emerald the objective never changes and just says “get the chaos emerald” the waypoint still leads me to the empty vault lol
I don't play custom physics very often because people tend to change the game in ways I don't like or it's just basic momentum physics I don't need after update 2, so I'd say this is a cut above the rest at the moment. I've seen some of Project Unlimited and Project Accel and they look like they're on this level or higher though.
You should make a video listing your definitive mods list for the game! I know you list what mods you use in your description but it seems to just be the mods you're putting focus on, rather than your whole mod list, as it does look like you're using some LUT mods, i might be wrong though

From what I remember, the terrain glitches depend on the order of your mods. Try putting True Kronos above New Genesis or vice versa. Put them at the very top just to be safe. As for models & animations, I have a tutorial: th-cam.com/users/shortsxdHx-hJRedg?si=k9FIFgQMamJF_6sO

I was trying to use Socks Rio Sonic with Frontiers reanimated but the game would crash upon start up. So then i tried another model with the same animations and the game would still crash. Do you know what I should do? Also there are invisible walls where rea and kronos split. So im stuck on kronos. How do i get rid of them?

It depends if you like boost moveset or momentum moveset or vanilla combat tbh I always feel the game is best when its the closest possible to vanilla with slight modifications

I think they can still do cool things with it if they take inspiration from Unleashed's FOV but they don't seem interested in that anymore. Breaking chairs and pots at top speed was really cool and they just don't do it these days. Wouldn't mind seeing rolling make a comeback.
The Ninja fight underwater was peak, jumping to get air only to parry the clone at the last second, that looked so fun to watch.

It's awesome mods like these that try Frontiers from ok to an absolute blast.
Combat is a huge culprit for why I keep returning! It's probably the one thing you can keep doing after 100% because of all the combo routes.

So I finally got it to work. I tested the adventure conversion mod and surprisingly it works with new genesis, though it takes away the ability to attack and breaks the rolling feature making everything a spin dash it actually isn’t a bad combination it makes the boost unnecessary on rails due to the trick boost in the conversion mod as well.
Overall it’s a good experience if you want to make the game as adventure as possible and I recommend you try it with the bounce bracelet if you do try it.
I was planning to play that mod at some point but I was turned off by some of the spinball physics. Perhaps combining these will make it fun 👀

I'm pretty sure a lot of codes are enabled by themself when you use this. I'd recommend disable hit stop on homing attacks

It depends if you like boost moveset or momentum moveset or vanilla combat tbh
I always feel the game is best when its the closest possible to vanilla with slight modifications

I'm not really a fan of removing boost, especially since now the spindash is acting like a more annoying boost
You can use the run button to easily pickup momentum tbf. All you really need to do for speed is use that and curl down hills, no revving needed

Hot take, I want them to officially retire the boost mechanic.
I think they can still do cool things with it if they take inspiration from Unleashed's FOV but they don't seem interested in that anymore. Breaking chairs and pots at top speed was really cool and they just don't do it these days. Wouldn't mind seeing rolling make a comeback.
