At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The speech from Hürrem around 3:14 remains one of the most iconic in the show. Not a bit of it is untrue and it's exceedingly telling that almost every character established as a moral figure within the show, such as Affife, winds up siding with Hürrem in the end.
firuze is becoming too arrogant believing in something that she does not have, she is still a concubine and has not gained anything, even suleyman recognized this
Afife finally turned sides and now is with the good one, Hürrem sultan's!
Murderer is Hurrem
@@tamijones992 no she's not
Сашка ВСЕГДА выигрывает ✊
Why was Suleyman angry with Hurrem while the Firuze arc ?
i believe it was how she argued for valide’s chambers after arguing mahidevrhan shouldn’t after being put in charge of the harem right after her passing saying it was inappropriate then was hypocritical fighting for the same thing when it was her in charge
This hurrem is not bothered about love, she is only scared of losing her power
i do not agree, firuze is showing her greed when asking about HER ring, woke up suleyman finally
@@renatepiecha4113in early episode before hurrem was sent to his chambers, she said to gulnihal " I will make that sultan my slave".after Mehmet was born she hold him and said" You will rule the world and I will be a queen". And many more incidents in the show that proves that all she wants is power. But hurrem fans are so blind😂
@@ad8447 good observation dear. Her blind fan base will never realise that fact. I don't understand how they support this cruel witch after the death of mustafa and his innocent son
How haappy to see Hurrem returned wounded as she done to Mahidevraan sultan... Fate
But the moment Suleiman married her, he made her more promises than ever made to Mahidevran. I don't condone Ottoman sexual slavery, but the true is Mahidevran was never promised his faithfullness
Take love dear. Hurrems blind fan will never see this
