I have that abiding memory of Rick kicking off a Quo gig with Caroline. The red glow of the Marshall on off switches behind him and the feedback when he cranks the volume. That first downstroke hits that barre chord ripping into eardrums like a sledge hammer. Unfortunately we will never see that again RIP Rick thanks for the memories. Try out softer ride, backwater, roll over lay down or paper plane you'll enjoy!
Can I just say this is one of the best reactions I have seen to someone watching the legendary Status Quo! I have been lucky enough to see this one of a kind band 5 times!
I´ve seen these guys live, it was very loud and very fun. They have many great songs like "paper plane", "down the dustpipe", "again and again", "roll over lay down" and "whatever you want". RIP Rick parfitt.

The Quo have been an institution here in the UK and all over Europe for over 50 years and deservedly so. Nobody ever rocked the world better. What a shame Rick Parfitt (in the blue shirt) passed away a couple of years after this was shot, he and Francis Rossi (lead guitar) were the original members back in the '60's and I believe they're STILL ROCKIN the world. God bless 'em all.

In the late 70's early 80's they had 28 vox AC 30 amps onstage as a backline and that was fecking LOUD!
And we’re talking about closed theatres/auditoriums here,so you didn’t just hear them,you FELT them! Guy next to me at one gig was(stupidly)standing right in front of a speaker”stack”,and as they hit the first mighty chord,he screamed”Jesus Christ!”and clutched his ears. He swore (later,when there was a break) that he could feel his bones vibrating!!🤣
Went to a concert every year for 4 decades, you can't beat the Quo :)

I've seen them live on multiple occasions, and yes the 2 loudest bands live are Status Quo and Motorhead.....
Status Quo was the seventies rock band. hit after hit.
Imagine being onstage for 2 hours doing mostly Barree chords - I always envied the guys - my hands didn´t make it - lol - saw them and it was one of the greatest concerts and one of the LOUDEST!!!!!! Oh, bless them .....
Of course it's Next level Rock 'n' Roll But the USA chose to Ignore them in the 70's
I saw SQ one time in London, great show, they were the kings of English 12 bar rock & roll.
Two more Status Quo songs you will like lots...Roadhouse Blues and Down Down. Both '70's rock. Quo were the forgotten Brit rockers along with bands like Slade etc.

I’ve seen the Quo several times,and if you think that’s a lot of amps,you ain’t seen nothing until you’ve seen /heard/felt them in a closed auditorium with even MORE amps than that! When you look up the word”loud” in the dictionary,it should say”Status Quo”!😂One of my friends watched them ,and got too close to the speakers,on a Saturday show , and his ears shut down for three days! He said,halfway through the following Tuesday “Hey!My ears just went”pop”and I can hear again!” That is LOUD!

I heard so many stories from people who never heard of them and went to see/hear a liveshow and stating afterwards that that was the best and loudest act they had ever heard/experienced.

Quo were definitely a favourite of mine for a very long time. The long hair, the pony tail, was gone by then but they still rocked it. Timeless rock n roll. I don't think kids today know how to dance without being high. Sad isn't it.

Great to see the US reaction to Quo but sadly the US have missed decades of great music and live performances. The greatest rock and roll band of all time and I've seen them all.

I saw an interview with Rick Parfitt from SQ a while back where he explains that a lot of the amps on stage are just fake and are only there for appearance sake. In fact he went on to explains that with the way they do the sound now the sound on stage isn’t that loud and it’s only really loud in the audience.
That is for their own live shows, when they had a lot more cabs on stage they had lights in them instead of speakers, what you see here are all fully working amps and cabs, yes you are correct in that they have it quieter onstage because they use in ear monitors but it is still bloody loud on stage believe me.
@@leesloan8216 Stood really always in the front and those speakers were working... LOUD! They wear earprotection for it. They were known for being the loudest live-acts in Europe.

BBC radio banned Quo for years...one of the best british rock bands and banned because they only played 3 chords...i now listen to the rubbish the same station plays and they dont even play an instrument..and we pay for that crap
