For Quo live performances, anything from this 1984 show or Birmingham NEC in 1982. I don't think anything later than this is as good. Caroline, Hold You Back, Forty-five Hundred Times.
More recently Two WayTraffic is a belter............tho I have to say the era of Roadhouse Blues is them at their best! Saw them several times and always such good fun. th-cam.com/video/nAWvkfDN6No/w-d-xo.html
Rollover Lay Down, Mystery Song, 45 Hundred Times, Caroline, Big Fat Mama, Down Down, Slow Train, Rain. Albums Hello, Piledriver, Blue for You, On the Level, Quo, Dig of Two Head & Quo Live at the Apollo Glasgow 76 the best live album ever.
So many Quo tunes to choose from to listen to. Promise you, you won't be disappointed. I've been listening to them for 50 plus years. Still get a buzz. One of the greatest bands of all time!!!🎸🎸
Quo Milton Keynes bowl ‘84. 50000 in attendance, blasting through a Tasco 250,000 watt PA system. Awesome gig, also check out Roll over lay down, Down Down & the incredible Forty five hundred times from the same gig.
118m record sales worldwide yet almost unknown in the U.S.! Go figure that out. First gig 1962, last gig 2024, a UK phenomenon. "Energy" is the right word to describe the Quo. If you're serious about doing more Quo just start at the beginning of this gig and take it from there.
There was a lot of internal tension within Status Quo in the early 80s, and in 1984 they decided to call it a day and go on one last big tour. They did the tour and figured that was it. A year later, Bob Geldof asked Quo to re-form to play Live Aid (they opened it, as a matter of fact), and playing that gave them a whole new lease on life. You definitely will want to check out their Live Aid performances of Rockin' All Over The World and Caroline.
The harmonica player is the one and only Bob Young, a road crew member of many years standing. A real character and a mean player to boot. This track just goes to show what a well rehearsed band the Quo were and are. Everything just flows and no-one does it better...Rossi was and is a perfectionist and it shine through.
Just about the best version of this song by anyone ever! So much better than the original. This was one of the songs which basically started Quo down the road of boogie rock. They heard it in Germany in the early 70's and have developed it to be one of the finest rock tracks ever performed live. This was meant to be their last ever tour. I was in the middle of that crowd somewhere, awesome day!
Saw quo twice in the 70's they always put on a good gig the jumping up and down and singing to the bit in the middle was a thing with quo fans and this track they were one of them bands that knew how to work an audience.
John Coghlan was the original drummer who added a real groove and swing, he left the band in 81, Alan Lancaster left the band a few years later and emigrated to Australia, during the seventies they were called the frantic four because of the energy they created on stage. Status Quo we’re a prime example of music doesn’t have to overly complicated with virtuoso musicians, just play music people can party too.
I was there. They were magnificent, that night. Weirdly, singer/lead guitarist Francis Rossi say in his autobiography that he didn't think they played that well that night. This was supposed to have been the final night of their final tour. "Retirement" lasted just over a year. They got back together when Bob Geldof personally invited them to open the massive Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium in July 1985. AS to where this was recorded, it was an open air show at Milton Keynes Bowl.
It wasn't quite the end of the road mate, they managed to keep performing for another 1,2 3, err...40 years!. Despite a few line up changes and sadly, two deaths (Parfitt in 2016 and Lancaster in 2021), they just kept rocking. They played their last show in mid 2024. I've followed them since 1973 and you couldn't ask for a better live band. Thanks for the reaction 😀
Alan Lancaster, the bass player was singing lead. Rossi is dark, straight hair, still playing. Parfitt, blond guitarist, played with them 'til his death in 2016. Rest In Peace, mate. 🙏🏽 😢 💔 ✌🏼😊🎶❤️✨️🕊
❤❤ OMG, wow, thank goodness for silk shirts and wife beater tshirts!! Sorry, if that sounds bad! Great song and loved interaction with the crowd!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks Snoops for making old girls day!!!
They thought that tour was their last. Live Aid (they opened that one actually!) and many more reasons made them return in 1978 I think, and keep going since then. To tell more would be writing a book. Try Live at Montreux "Caroline" next. Fantastic way to open a concert! Enjoy :)
I'm sure thats not the full version. By the way i was there!! Which band had 3 lead singers, Rossi with his nasel twine, Parfitts rock voice and Lancasters blue voice. Undoubtedly the best live band from era.
Nowhere near the end of the road for the Quo! Sadly Rick Parfitt died a few years back but they were rocking still then and Francis Rossi (green Tele) is still going strong.
Quo opened live aid and though Queen stole the whole gig,Quo set the tone, they were magnificent. Look up Status (pronounced stay-tus not stattus) Quo live aid. And also check out the live version of “Rain” It’ll have you Rockin.
They are still going although originals Alan Lancaster Base and Rythm guitarist Rick Parfitt have passed away. The best rockin boogie band in the world check out Thd Hello album and Quo and Piledriver. The best rockin boogie
@@SnoopySnoops1 , the sad thing is, even that's an edited version. The full version is over 21 minutes. They cut out a whole section of Francis Rossi's guitar solo. Audio only versions are out there on youtube.
Any other rockin' Status Quo picks like this? Leave em' here for me. I'm so down to do more from this show even, let alone the rest of their stuff lol
please, Big Fat Mama - Status Quo - The Midnight Special🎸
Rockin' All over the world from Live Aid

Thank you "Snoops" 😊 I remember my Status Quo concert in the mid 70s, what a show and party that was, never forget that, one of the best live bands 🎸
This whole show was amazing, I was infront of Parfitt, about 30ft back from the stage, just amazing 🤘
Roadhouse medley, the sixteen minute version, or Status Quo with an orchestra. See the orchestra go all rock! Brilliant.
I was at this concert,2 hours 45 mins of classic Quo.Check out "Forty-five Hundred Times" from this concert.

RIck Parfett was world renown as the best rhythm guitarist!!! R.I.P. Rick 💙!

Great shout about watching Live Aid. In addition to the songs you mentioned, they also played Don’t Waste My Time at Live Aid.

Hoky smokes. I love Roadhouse Blues. I pushed my lunch away to get up to jam whoohoo! I ❤ this. Live music😊
They og did this in 72
They were playing it live as early 1970, check out the beat club footage.
Wow! Blown away! 🤯 Thanks Snoops and L33! ☮️❤️🎶

I was there, so many wonderful memories..God bless Rick and Alan, if you want to rock and leave your cares behind, Qou will deliver!!😊
Please do 4500 times from that show. The greatest driving tune of all time.
Saw quo twice in the 70's they always put on a good gig the jumping up and down and singing to the bit in the middle was a thing with quo fans and this track they were one of them bands that knew how to work an audience.

Alan Lancaster was kicked out by rossi in 85 .. didn't leave.
I saw them in Glasgow in the early seventies. I couldn't hear properly for days!

Alan Lancaster was the bassist and singer on this occassion. Francis Rossi is playing the green tele. And Rick parfitt playing the white tele.
I was at this concert right in front of Rick Parfitt at the front.was my 2nd quo gig at 12 years old and so loud 🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was there, lost all my mates!! Pushed to the front. What a day!! Big up for this one. Sir.
Alan Lancaster, the bass player was singing lead. Rossi is dark, straight hair, still playing. Parfitt, blond guitarist, played with them 'til his death in 2016. Rest In Peace, mate.
🙏🏽 😢 💔 ✌🏼😊🎶❤️✨️🕊
The medley within was, 'Irish washerwoman', 'Mexican Hat Dance', and a tiny bit of, 'Shakin' All Over.'
It was at The Milton Keynes Bowl.
The album Hello is one of their best of their best period of the 70ths
...yes its a good album but what about "Piledriver"? rock on !
I was at this concert....cant believe it was 40 years ago
I am glad you are on the Status Quo train again. Greetings from the Netherlands
That was great, Snoops, thank you!

This is so great, love it .

Try Live at Montreux "Caroline" next. Fantastic way to open a concert! Enjoy :)
super ,mon groupe prefere👍👍👍🤟
One of the songs they included in that medley was "Shakin' All Over" originally by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates - well worth checking that one out!
Snoops comes through again.
good one snoops
Quo continued from the '60s to this year when they have officially retired :)
Claudie is a great ballad. Rocking all over the world is a classic.
You have to see early Status Quo doing “ Pictures of matchmen”. Psychedelic rock!
WAOUH...!
Try out Forty five hundred times…….. a Classic !
Great to see Alan soar!
I loved that ❤
I'm sure thats not the full version. By the way i was there!! Which band had 3 lead singers, Rossi with his nasel twine, Parfitts rock voice and Lancasters blue voice. Undoubtedly the best live band from era.
Rock In Peace Rick.
My favorite cover of this is by Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush.
You would love his Hendrix vibe.
Saw them w wishbone ash back in the late 70's.
Nowhere near the end of the road for the Quo! Sadly Rick Parfitt died a few years back but they were rocking still then and Francis Rossi (green Tele) is still going strong.
Class
Quo opened live aid and though Queen stole the whole gig,Quo set the tone, they were magnificent.
Look up Status (pronounced stay-tus not stattus) Quo live aid.
And also check out the live version of “Rain”
It’ll have you Rockin.
Mystery Song, Down Down & Break The Rules next please.
From end of the Road the best song is 4500 Times
Or BACKWATER/JUST TAKE ME....
The band is still playing today!
Almost, they played their final gig in the UK in Taunton in the summer, it's unlikely they'll come back again.
Will you welcome the magnificent Status Quo.
Pictures of Matchstick Men and maybe the cover of it by Camper Van Beethoven
Head down arse up boogie,Sydney Horden Pavillion twice mid seventies.👍👍👍
Damn I forgot to press my kilt!
I can imagine tension between francis and Alan..
Checkout Status Quo doing "Rocking all over the World " at Live Aide
4500 Times rocks
Same concert "4500 times"
They are still going although originals Alan Lancaster Base and Rythm guitarist Rick Parfitt have passed away. The best rockin boogie band in the world check out Thd Hello album and Quo and Piledriver. The best rockin boogie
Dude, play Roadhouse Medley from the same concert.
They weren’t called “ England’s favourite band “ for no reason!! I’m not English BTW.
This version has been cut a lot...Check out big fat mamma live
The editor butchered this song. large chunks cut out of it
3mins 38, a big cut.and 4mins 20.
Same with 4500 Times. Hope the full unedited versions come out sometime.
Watch them open Live Aid 1985 👍
Just for info, stat is pronounced stay, stay tus quo. thanks.
Such a shame so much was edited out of this.
Need backwater live 84 .
It is pronounced Staytus quo not Stat. Nice reaction.
No status in STAYTUS Quo
Do yourself a favour do more live Quo!
L33, sorry to be pedantic but its Stay-tus.
Dreadful editing of this version
The harmonica player wasn't John Sebastian and sounded a little shallow. The rest was quite good. The medley of old children's songs was entertaining.
Ya need to check out Forty Five Hundred Times from the same gig... one of the greatest live performances ever!
I just watched it! Just incredible! Wow! It's like a whole gig in 17 minutes! I just hope Lee does this at some point!
@@SnoopySnoops1 , the sad thing is, even that's an edited version. The full version is over 21 minutes. They cut out a whole section of Francis Rossi's guitar solo. Audio only versions are out there on youtube.
