It's time for me to do my Cut, Bleach and tone today so I thought I would film it. I will show you how I achieve this faded platinum cut as well as show you all the products I use, plus ones that I don't recommend.

Turned 50 in May. Gave myself a buzz cut and bleached/tones it. It was liberating turning 50 and chopping it all off.
That cut and color look beautiful on you. I started buzzing my hair 2.5 years ago and haven't grown it back out. I just recently started bleaching it to white blonde and love it. I love when women have buzz cuts and are confident with it. It's so freeing as well.
I love mine too but people are always either telling me how cool it is, or asking when I will grow it out? Like it gets sone strong opinions lol.
I am still waiting for my Hair to grow back after Chemo. I showed my Friends Pictures of you and told them I will stop wearing Headscarfs when my Hair looks like yours. :)

My hair grew enough to put some color on just not too look like chemo hair..but I'm searching for natural bleaching video, dont want to put chemicals just y3t..hope something like this is possible :)

I just found this! I am buzzing at my next hair appointment in a couple of weeks. Right now it is a fuschia pixie. My concern was maintaining the cut and color. Your video is SO informative and thorough. I think once my genius stylist does the initial cut and color I can maintain it with your fabulous tips. I am SUPER EXCITED!!! Bleach does the most lightening in the first 30 mins (and hardly any damage), and the most damage in the second 30 mins (and hardly any lightening). If you want to bleach for an hour: apply, process 30 mins, rinse, reapply, process 30 more. You will be surprised at the level you get while maintaining hair health. 💜

YOU LOOK STUNNING with the colour and cut, I’m a natural dark brunette but because of the greys have gone blonde to tone in the greys as being dark I was like a skunk in two weeks. The olaplex is brilliant my friend is a hairdressers and does my roots every 4 weeks and uses it. Xx

This was so interesting. I recently went blonde to try to grow out my natural gray. Boy is it a process and maintenance is intense. Wish I would look as good as you if I shaved it all off. This style really suits you.

OMG! Yes! I couldn’t figure out why my hair was so frizzy and then someone told me that was horrible stuff for your hair. Switched and BOOM, frizz gone.

I’ve got the same cut and color. After bleaching I just wash my hair with the violet toning shampoo from Fudge and leave it in for max 5 minutes. Thats enough to get it from yellow to platinum. Maybe it’s worth a try 🙋🏼♀️
I have never thought of bleaching the sides first (but it makes so much sense)!
I recently shaved off all my hair (recently as in last week lol) and my hair grows so fast that it’s almost at your length already. I’ve been thinking about going platinum since I feel like if I hate I can just shave it all off again.

I developed a sensitivity to various chemicals that are found in most shampoos, soaps, lotions, etc, so I tried Argan Rain shampoo and conditioner and it's great! It doesn't irritate my skin at all. I love the smells.

So, I know this is an older video but I still really liked it. I shave and bleach my own hair too and it was really interesting to watch. I'm going to try your shaving method though.. i usually just shave everything off on the same lenght😅

I use the blue kaleidacolors bleach with a 30 volume developer for an hour and a half to two hours and it comes out as white as a sheet of paper. I’m not tender headed/sensitive scalped, so it doesn’t bother me, but I don’t need to use toner or anything after. I also bleach my eyebrows for 10-15 minutes and they also come out pure white.

did you ever tried the tigi bed head dumb blonde products? i really love this series for blonde hair, especially the reconstructing conditioner and the purple schampoo (it tones perfectly without toning the haur purple). also the smell-omg the smell 😍
I love it!! I’m A short pixie girl myself! I changed it up to longer have it long for about another year then Ilove going into the salon and saying take it all off ! They freak out hahaha!

The Joico enduring violet shampoo and conditioner in the rust/maroon bottles are sulfate-free and are good options. My bleached hair cannot and doesn't like the line you showed earlier, they were too drying. Pravana has "The Perfect Blonde" purple toning masque (@ULTA) you may like it. Glad you like the Joico Blonde Life Brightening masque. I'd bleach at home, but my hair's longer and it needs heat to activate the bleach- dark hair problems.(you can put Clairol Vitapoint on your ears to protect them) 💜

Great video! How often do you bleach and tone your hair? And is it the same developer for the bleach and the toner?
If you ever decide to try something else, I use the Ion Sensitive Scalp bleach and developer. My level 3 hair lifts easy and faster with their 20v and bleach than with anything I’ve used before and the bleach is a cream rather than a powder. My hair is currently the same length as yours and it doesn’t bother my sensitive scalp at all or irritate my psoriasis.
How long do u leave it on?
I’ve been shaving my head with a number 1 guard all over, but I am now trying out this wonderful tutorial of yours and I must say I do find this a bit more flattering for my head shape, so thank you very much

You should be using the lowest volume developer you can get (either 5 or 10vol) for your toner. And if you use a higher volume with your lightener you should be able to cut down your processing time

I just started buzzing my own hair instead of going to a salon. Now I’m dealing with all those little hairs all over the bathroom. Do you have a special way to contain all those hairs without clogging up the sink? I love your hair. I’m trying to get the courage to bleach it. Thx so much for your video. ❤️🌸

I know there are special shampoo and conditioner that is the color purple but it's for blonde hair it's like 55$ bucks at hair salons
How often were you bleaching/ re-bleaching your hair?
Hi Mel! Well, I did it! Using your process, I was able to accomplish Platinum. Amazing, since for years, the beauty shops could NOT lift my hair to Platinum. I have level 5, fine hair, just like yours. I used your steps, including the "ION scalp protector oil" before the processing, and never had a problem. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes also. However, I did feel burning towards the end of the 20 minute TONER processing using the Wella Color Charms. I watched your video several times to ensure you did not say to reapply the ION scalp protector. I'm wondering if I should've reapplied it, or whether that would adversely affect the toner process. I DID have to bleach the white/gray areas of my hair, since there were still stray dark hairs in those areas. However, I used vaseline over that whole area while TONING - to prevent the white hair from turning purple. All in all, it is the most time I've spent on my hair in the last 8 years combined, but was an interesting experience. I used the Pravana shampoo/conditioner/spray afterwards, and then used the Joico Masque for 15 minutes, as you indicated. After that, I used Macadamia oil, since I did not get the Verb Ghost Oil. My scalp felt fine, and my hair stubble (LOL) felt soft. I used a soft wax on my hair to lay it down the next morning, and it shines beautifully. The beauty shops did not put enough time into this process - most likely were afraid to leave the bleach on my scalp for and hour, let alone an extra 15 minutes. Thank you for your tutorial! HUGS! I will say, the toner does kinda sting a little bit...but it has never burned me. I am not sure if the scalp protector would work or not but may be worth a shot :)

Ugh! I miss my blonde hair!!! I use to be blonde on top and a dark brown underneath ! I was in beauty school but my hair was collarbone length and super easy to bleach! But now my hair is waist length and I can't imagine bleaching my hair now lol I miss being blonde! Even more so that my son has dirty blonde hair! Lol
And btw I love your short hair! It suits You! Even the hair you had before this hair cut! I'm too chicken to go short! Lol

I am fascinated by your process. I have watched this video 6 times in all. Just one question, Did you have to wear the processing cap when you were waiting to turn purple while toning? I got the impression that you did not, so I thought I would clarify that point. I might actually try this, since I was trying to go Platinum several years ago, and no one could lift my hair enough. My hair is pretty much like yours, fine, dark (not sure what level brown). I can now see that they did not do half of what you do, which still amazes me for fine hair. My head is 30 years older though and has some gray/white areas already. You advised me to seek advice from a hair tech, and I will. I am under the impression that those more solid gray/white areas should be avoided for the full process, like you avoid your top area. If I experiment with this, I will let you know how it turns out. Why did you shave your hair ? I’m new to your channel and the first video I saw of yours was you styling your faux hawk so when I visited your channel it’s self and saw you were bald now I was like whaaaaaat !!! LEGIT you couldn’t be MORE ADORABLE are you kidding I’m so so so so glad you did this video I’ve been thinking for a LONG ASS TIME now about shaving my head because I have grey roots NO MORE colored roots they come in COMPLETELY grey so I want to go lighter so I’m not dying it every month 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️and my hair is black so I have to dye it quite often and I’m only 42y/o but I’ve been grey since I’m 18 and I feel I’m losing hair because of that I.e. the dying so often..so if I shaved my head when my roots grow in it would LEGIT look just like yours without having to dye it 🤣🤣 that’s how WHITE the grey is...I’m TOTALLY serious about shaving my head too like I’ve asked everyone around me of course everyone is saying no don’t do it but IDK 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ what made you DARE to do it??? Tip for chemical burn; pour a lemon lime soda on the burn and it takes the pain away instantly. I'm a cosmetologist and watching hair cutting and coloring videos make me cringe. You did a very good job.
Can you recommend any of them for a purple hair?
I don’t know the name, but if you want to add more purple...they make color depositing conditioner. It add more color than just the toning shampoo. But, if not...def try out the Pravana :)
