I shaved my head last night. I was so sick of having handfuls of hair fall out from medications I take to keep my disease in check. I freaking love it! I've never felt more liberated. My husband came in and just kissed my head. My kids helped shave the back. Thank you for being such a supportive ray of sunshine. My hair is on it's way to wigs for kids.

She complained about it and said she loved my long hair(yet it was damaged from bleach and not taken care of). Then she proceeded to cut my hair off and butchered my hair!! I have done better haircuts than this witch that cut mine. It was at an awkward length. And Everytime I get my hair cut they cut it longer than I asked for. 🤬
My hair is incredibly thick. It was like 2 inches below my shoulders. It's a pain in the ass to keep up so I dont over heat. I also am prone to migraines and had a car accident in 2015 that had major scarring. I always wanted to see my scars, but everyone told me to not shave my head. So a couple weeks ago, I went for it. I LOVE IT. It was emotional to see my scars. My headaches are so few now. I didnt use any clips on the buzzers, and buzzed it back down again today. I feel stronger and more powerful than I did before.
I have extreme Alopecia, trying to keep the bald spots covered was sickening, so I shaved it bald. Two years now, and I wouldn't go back. Once a week, shaving cream, razor, living my best life. Compliments all the time!! Freedom!!!! 😍😍😍😍
I shaved my head 5 years ago, it was liberating! I've always loved the feeling of a shorn scalp and was always petting my own head. It was also nice having hair that dried in 5 minutes vs. 3 hours. There's no need to be emotionally attached to your hair, it grows back!

I just had my head shaved yesterday - I'm 74 with natural gray hair and I'm rockin' it. It is so liberating not to have to bother with hair, it's cool and comfy and I love it.
I kept thinking about shaving my head for months but was always a little scared. Then this video popped up, I saw how beautiful all these women looked after shaving their had and made the decision to do the same. Finished 20 minutes ago and I couldn't be happier
When I shaved my head to support my girl with cancer who lost hers, I felt so free and wonderful. It looked good from the front but I absolutely had an egg shaped/flat back of my head. I also found some strange birth mark/large flat mole that was not super cute. Lots of cowlicks became evident as it grew from shaved to the skin to a slight buzz to rosemary’s baby to pixie and so forth. I thought when I did it I would just not cut it for a couple years and it would be fine. No. I needed a cut every 6 weeks for the first 6 months and those cuts actually made it look infinitely better and even visually somehow often made it look longer. I had shoulder length hair in just 18 months but with lots of layers. I had hair to the middle of my back in 4 years and that was even getting is cut and colored every 2-3 months. While I can do whatever I want, my friend with cancer still can’t get hair to grow in 1/3 of her head from scars and radiation treatments so at the end of the day, we should just remind ourselves we are lucky to be alive and although hair can be fun and exciting it isn’t everything. Friendships are everything.
It was nice to read this. I've shaved my head from years. Partly because I always loved the look yes. But what gave me the push was when when I started losing a significant amount of hair due to a disease (gastroparesis) that's incurable. The hair loss is permanent and Im left with a lot of thin and bald spots. I still like the way I look but miss being able to do fun stuff with hair and color etc. Give your friend my best💚.

My niece a few years ago was diagnosed with Cancer and together we shaved our heads. I donated my 28 inches of hair and now whenever I have enough hair, I cut and donate.
Something I don't understand is why people with cancer bother with the wigs. Sport the bald look, it's not like it even looks bad. If I was going through cancer treatment there's no way I would wear a wig. I would want people to know I'm struggling, why should I pretend I'm not? A family member of mine wore the wigs at first and then didn't after because she realized she doesn't have to pretend she doesn't have cancer and is doing fine. She's allowed to be bald, she had freaking cancer and was going through hell. I'm glad people have the option though. I'd rather people wear the wigs and be able to enjoy themselves and feel normal if that's what they want.

I hate when people say hair is just hair or that it's no big deal, it'll grow back! First of all, not everybody's hair grows back fast, some of our hair takes years to grow just a couple inches. People that say "it's just hair" don't have to worry because their hair probably grows back so fast it's like they never shaved it off in the first place. Lol And not everybody can pull off a bald head, I would look terrible. I used to cut my hair all the time when I was younger and I later ended up regretting it. Now here I am, many years later, and my hair is just now the length that it was when I first chopped it off. It was a terrible experience and I did not feel empowered. I felt cute for like a week, and then, the moment was gone. LMBO.
But more power to the women that actually feel empowered and free by shaving their heads. But why do women always say shaving their head made them feel empowered and free? You know what would make me feel empowered and free?! When I pay the last of my car note in a couple months and I am debt-free. I might even laminate the document and have a drink.

I have very easily damaged hair from meds, health, (and it being curly), and there was a period when huge chunks would fall out. So I understand where you’re coming from. I love so many shaved heads, but it just wasn’t for me. If that’s the case with you, I just want to say that knowing I could get a wig did a lot for me. I hope you do whatever makes you happiest. ♥️
I've been watching a lot of "Girls shaving their head" videos lately. I've always loved my hair. As a person who never liked her body, my hair has always been my safety anchor, the only thing I liked about my physical appearance. I've been looking a lot of these videos lately because I'm trying to accept, sooner or later, I'll have to to this, since I'm fighting against brain cancer and am currently doing radiotherapy and chemo. I don't really think I have a nice head shape and now I also have an enormous scar after craniotomy. I gravitate around those kind of videos because I need to find courage and understand it's not a bad thing to shave my head, even tho I feel like my hair kinda defines who I am and give me a little self confidence and helps me tolerate what I see in the mirror. I'm scared of losing my hair and hating myself even more.

I’ve shaved my head twice now. One of the times I did I was serving at Olive Garden and I had soooo many older ladies raving abt how much they loved my hair and how they wished they could’ve done that when they were young and tbh they were always the best compliments anyone could have given me lol
Captain Heawee I’m always up for changing your look in general. I’ve found comfort in changing mainly my hair. From all the colors of the rainbow to many different cuts. I’ve never shaved my head completely, shortest Ive gone was a pixie cut. I’ve got so many different opinions but I don’t care because I feel like you should try various looks throughout your life ! Someday ill shave my head too :)

I had super long blond hair and everywhere I went, I got tons of attention. From men, from women, etc. It got fried and my sister (a well established Dallas stylist) cut it into a pixie. No one looked at me. No one wanted to talk to me. No guys hit on me. No women wanted to be my friend. Legit, it broke my confidence, I felt invisible. I went out and bought a wig and went back to being the center of the universe. Now my hair is grown out and sexy and I would NEVER go above the shoulders with a cut

When I was about 16 I had this older friend who used to cut and dye her hair in all kind of different colors and shapes and one day she just shaved it all off. I remember asking her how she was able to do all these things without getting anxious about it. She said ¨Because I don't put my confidence in my hair. It's just hair after all, it doesn't define me as a person or if I'm beautiful or not ¨ I don't know what the purpose of writing this was actually, but I found what she said to be really inspiring for me, and I started to view my hair and myself in a different way after that.

You know, it's interesting, at the start of the year people were wanting this year to be like the roaring 20s, and this so reminds me of how in the 1920s people were trying the "shocking" bob for the first time, but it became the iconic look for the era, and a cool symbol of freedom and empowerment. This feels like a parallel in many ways :) our 2020 equivalent.
I'm one of the "essential" workers that has to keep going to work. I usually just put my hair up in a ponytail because I have to keep my hair out of my face/way. Would you do a video on some simple, yet awesome looks for keeping hair out of the way for those of us who have to keep it out of the way? I'm also so bad with hair styling and being a girl in general but your videos inspire me to want to do more with my hair.
You could do the boxer girl braids, where you have them on the side of your head. You could always use a fun colored extension (like kids have) just to add in there and make it fun. The most comfortable thing i find is braiding my hair from top to bottom since you do not have that weight pulling on your head. If you have a bandana or such you could always use that as the third strand and have a fun look! Just a few ideas :)
Gotta love being essential. Bright side is we still have jobs. I've just been rocking a low bun with a thick headband to keep the frizz down. And a beanie. My poor hair is on lock down too
I usually do french braid pigtail things. Because hides floof really well. Or just a big hairclip. Now it's important that it doesn't go in your face and mouth. So you have to touch it less.

When my son asked me to shave my head, I didn't hesitate. He was 3½ when he was diagnosed with leukemia. He lost his head of curls after the first month of treatment. As longas he had no hair, I had no hair. From August 2017 until November 2017, we were oth bald. It was so liberating. I have grown out, cut and donated my hair four times in my life (11, 15, 21 and 24) but when your own child asks you to do it, nothing else matters. The night before I did the shave, he was playing with my hair and he asked "Mommy, can you make your hair small like mine?'' I made the appointment two minutes later.

My face shape doesn’t exactly suit a shaved head, but I’ve done it. Did it while I was in Army BCT and while I LOVED the low maintenance, I’m having a lot of difficulty now trying to grow out the pixie it has become.

Shaving your hair off feels so liberating. I remember having long thick black hair past my shoulder and I let all my friends shave a chunk off and donated the money to The Cancer service we have in Australia. I think everyone should do bald at least once in your life. It's so worth it.

Maybe you could start with an undercut! My hair color has always been a safety thing for me. Only thing people ever complimented me on from a young age was having red hair. Parents wouldn’t let me dye it until I moved out. Always had to keep it long. It’s been 22 years and I’ve only ever felt pretty with long red hair. I cut it to my shoulders and got an undercut, and Thursday I’m dying it black. I’m scared but wish me luck lol.

I have alopecia totalis I’ve had it since I was like 3 or 4 so I have no hair at all on my head no eyebrows (I wear a wig as you can tell) but this video made me feel a lot better about myself. I still struggle everyday so this was so refreshing . I just wish I had more confidence like these girls!

I never ever comment but, I had the same thing happen to me *trigger warning* my dad forced me down and cut off all of my curly hair at 14. I’ve identified with my hair ever since then. Everyone at school made fun of me. Now at 23, I just cut off all of my hair to reclaim my identity and to love myself more, it was also becoming too much to deal with because of depression. I feel so great with no hair (even though it’s growing back FAST) I plan on going bald before summer! Never forget how amazing you are and love yourself
@@djfhfh It could've been because of lice? At least in my school, many parents didn't bother with their kids hair when they've got lice, they just shaved it all off for them. Which was awful, nobody should have their hair cut off without their consent. I was really lucky that my mom took time and effort to go through my waist-length hair with a fine comb for hours and hours to get it all out.
emma M when I was a kid, I had head lice because it was spreading around my school, I had hair down to my hips and my dad didn’t want to deal with treatments because I had so much hair so he shaved it. My parents were freshly divorced at the time so you could imagine my moms surprise when I can home from being at my dads for the weekend😩

I am so here for the energy these women have about shaving their heads and the support and encouragement Brad expresses for them. I had hair past the small of my back when I cut it all off to a pixie cut. It was soo long, got in the way, weighed my head down, I never did anything with it, etc. Looking back now, I wish I could have donated it, but it had been dyed red multiple times and was too compromised. That was 7 years ago, and my hair is that long again, only I've been maintaining it (getting layers, trimming thin ends, etc.). I don't think I would ever have the courage to shave my head completely, but if it came down to it, I would totally grow it out untouched and donate it. 🥰

Same! I had been shaving the sides, because I was overheating at work, for two years. I just took my mid-back length hair and gave myself a nice little pixie-I feel weirdly more girlish than I ever have. I finally feel like a woman, not some perpetual weird adolescent boy. Its so good.
I feel more feminine when my hair is short to. I've never had the courage to go bald yet. But my hair is up to my chin, that's the shortest it's ever been, I'm not skinny enough to go bald though. I've always internally wanted long hair, but for some reason I feel more confident with short hair.

I also am prone to migraines and had a car accident in 2015 that had major scarring. I always wanted to see my scars, but everyone told me to not shave my head. So a couple weeks ago, I went for it. I LOVE IT. It was emotional to see my scars. My headaches are so few now. I didnt use any clips on the buzzers, and buzzed it back down again today. I feel stronger and more powerful than I did before.

I shaved my head 5 years ago, it was liberating! I've always loved the feeling of a shorn scalp and was always petting my own head. It was also nice having hair that dried in 5 minutes vs. 3 hours. There's no need to be emotionally attached to your hair, it grows back!

When I shaved my head to support my girl with cancer who lost hers, I felt so free and wonderful. It looked good from the front but I absolutely had an egg shaped/flat back of my head. I also found some strange birth mark/large flat mole that was not super cute. Lots of cowlicks became evident as it grew from shaved to the skin to a slight buzz to rosemary’s baby to pixie and so forth. I thought when I did it I would just not cut it for a couple years and it would be fine. No. I needed a cut every 6 weeks for the first 6 months and those cuts actually made it look infinitely better and even visually somehow often made it look longer. I had shoulder length hair in just 18 months but with lots of layers. I had hair to the middle of my back in 4 years and that was even getting is cut and colored every 2-3 months. While I can do whatever I want, my friend with cancer still can’t get hair to grow in 1/3 of her head from scars and radiation treatments so at the end of the day, we should just remind ourselves we are lucky to be alive and although hair can be fun and exciting it isn’t everything. Friendships are everything.

It was nice to read this. I've shaved my head from years. Partly because I always loved the look yes. But what gave me the push was when when I started losing a significant amount of hair due to a disease (gastroparesis) that's incurable. The hair loss is permanent and Im left with a lot of thin and bald spots. I still like the way I look but miss being able to do fun stuff with hair and color etc. Give your friend my best💚.

Something I don't understand is why people with cancer bother with the wigs. Sport the bald look, it's not like it even looks bad. If I was going through cancer treatment there's no way I would wear a wig. I would want people to know I'm struggling, why should I pretend I'm not? A family member of mine wore the wigs at first and then didn't after because she realized she doesn't have to pretend she doesn't have cancer and is doing fine. She's allowed to be bald, she had freaking cancer and was going through hell. I'm glad people have the option though. I'd rather people wear the wigs and be able to enjoy themselves and feel normal if that's what they want.

I hate when people say hair is just hair or that it's no big deal, it'll grow back! First of all, not everybody's hair grows back fast, some of our hair takes years to grow just a couple inches. People that say "it's just hair" don't have to worry because their hair probably grows back so fast it's like they never shaved it off in the first place. Lol And not everybody can pull off a bald head, I would look terrible. I used to cut my hair all the time when I was younger and I later ended up regretting it. I've been watching a lot of "Girls shaving their head" videos lately. I've always loved my hair. As a person who never liked her body, my hair has always been my safety anchor, the only thing I liked about my physical appearance.
I've been looking a lot of these videos lately because I'm trying to accept, sooner or later, I'll have to to this, since I'm fighting against brain cancer and am currently doing radiotherapy and chemo.
I don't really think I have a nice head shape and now I also have an enormous scar after craniotomy. I gravitate around those kind of videos because I need to find courage and understand it's not a bad thing to shave my head, even tho I feel like my hair kinda defines who I am and give me a little self confidence and helps me tolerate what I see in the mirror. I'm scared of losing my hair and hating myself even more.

I had super long blond hair and everywhere I went, I got tons of attention. From men, from women, etc. It got fried and my sister (a well established Dallas stylist) cut it into a pixie. No one looked at me. No one wanted to talk to me. No guys hit on me. No women wanted to be my friend. Legit, it broke my confidence, I felt invisible. I went out and bought a wig and went back to being the center of the universe. Now my hair is grown out and sexy and I would NEVER go above the shoulders with a cut

When I was about 16 I had this older friend who used to cut and dye her hair in all kind of different colors and shapes and one day she just shaved it all off. I remember asking her how she was able to do all these things without getting anxious about it.

I suffer with hairloss and got tired of the constant upkeep of hiding it. I watched this video and immediately ran to the bathroom to shave my head. And I love it. I also bought some fun wigs.
You know, it's interesting, at the start of the year people were wanting this year to be like the roaring 20s, and this so reminds me of how in the 1920s people were trying the "shocking" bob for the first time, but it became the iconic look for the era, and a cool symbol of freedom and empowerment. This feels like a parallel in many ways :) our 2020 equivalent.

I'm one of the "essential" workers that has to keep going to work. I usually just put my hair up in a ponytail because I have to keep my hair out of my face/way. Would you do a video on some simple, yet awesome looks for keeping hair out of the way for those of us who have to keep it out of the way?
I'm also so bad with hair styling and being a girl in general but your videos inspire me to want to do more with my hair.
You could do the boxer girl braids, where you have them on the side of your head. You could always use a fun colored extension (like kids have) just to add in there and make it fun. The most comfortable thing i find is braiding my hair from top to bottom since you do not have that weight pulling on your head. If you have a bandana or such you could always use that as the third strand and have a fun look! Just a few ideas :)

When my son asked me to shave my head, I didn't hesitate. He was 3½ when he was diagnosed with leukemia. He lost his head of curls after the first month of treatment. As longas he had no hair, I had no hair. From August 2017 until November 2017, we were oth bald. It was so liberating. I have grown out, cut and donated my hair four times in my life (11, 15, 21 and 24) but when your own child asks you to do it, nothing else matters. The night before I did the shave, he was playing with my hair and he asked "Mommy, can you make your hair small like mine?'' I made the appointment two minutes later.

My face shape doesn’t exactly suit a shaved head, but I’ve done it. Did it while I was in Army BCT and while I LOVED the low maintenance, I’m having a lot of difficulty now trying to grow out the pixie it has become.
honestly no! I've hated the way face looked for my entire life but I just shaved my head a week and a half ago and honestly I think it makes my face look prettier!

Shaving your hair off feels so liberating. I remember having long thick black hair past my shoulder and I let all my friends shave a chunk off and donated the money to The Cancer service we have in Australia. I think everyone should do bald at least once in your life. It's so worth it.

Maybe you could start with an undercut! My hair color has always been a safety thing for me. Only thing people ever complimented me on from a young age was having red hair. Parents wouldn’t let me dye it until I moved out. Always had to keep it long. It’s been 22 years and I’ve only ever felt pretty with long red hair. I cut it to my shoulders and got an undercut, and Thursday I’m dying it black. I’m scared but wish me luck lol.

I have alopecia totalis I’ve had it since I was like 3 or 4 so I have no hair at all on my head no eyebrows (I wear a wig as you can tell) but this video made me feel a lot better about myself. I still struggle everyday so this was so refreshing . I just wish I had more confidence like these girls!

When I was a kid my dad shaved my head and I was bullied for months; since then I haven’t cut my hair without getting panic attacks. My hair is down to my butt now and I haven’t cut it in YEARS. Watching women shave their heads makes me feel empowered and shameless about having a shaved head years ago❤️

I never ever comment but, I had the same thing happen to me *trigger warning* my dad forced me down and cut off all of my curly hair at 14. I’ve identified with my hair ever since then. Everyone at school made fun of me. Now at 23, I just cut off all of my hair to reclaim my identity and to love myself more, it was also becoming too much to deal with because of depression. I feel so great with no hair (even though it’s growing back FAST) I plan on going bald before summer! Never forget how amazing you are and love yourself
@@djfhfh It could've been because of lice? At least in my school, many parents didn't bother with their kids hair when they've got lice, they just shaved it all off for them. Which was awful, nobody should have their hair cut off without their consent. I was really lucky that my mom took time and effort to go through my waist-length hair with a fine comb for hours and hours to get it all out.
emma M when I was a kid, I had head lice because it was spreading around my school, I had hair down to my hips and my dad didn’t want to deal with treatments because I had so much hair so he shaved it. My parents were freshly divorced at the time so you could imagine my moms surprise when I can home from being at my dads for the weekend😩

I am so here for the energy these women have about shaving their heads and the support and encouragement Brad expresses for them. I had hair past the small of my back when I cut it all off to a pixie cut. It was soo long, got in the way, weighed my head down, I never did anything with it, etc. Looking back now, I wish I could have donated it, but it had been dyed red multiple times and was too compromised. That was 7 years ago, and my hair is that long again, only I've been maintaining it (getting layers, trimming thin ends, etc.). I don't think I would ever have the courage to shave my head completely, but if it came down to it, I would totally grow it out untouched and donate it. 🥰
My mom just finished radiation for cancer and we shaved her head yesterday after all the hair started falling out. This video came at the perfect time, thank you Brad 💜

Same! I had been shaving the sides, because I was overheating at work, for two years. I just took my mid-back length hair and gave myself a nice little pixie-I feel weirdly more girlish than I ever have. I finally feel like a woman, not some perpetual weird adolescent boy. Its so good.
I feel more feminine when my hair is short to. I've never had the courage to go bald yet. But my hair is up to my chin, that's the shortest it's ever been, I'm not skinny enough to go bald though. I've always internally wanted long hair, but for some reason I feel more confident with short hair.
