What Zoro did after Robin said “she want to live “ is called “金打kinncyou”, push the sword out then put it back and knock the cross guard. The act is simple but means “I use my life to promise you
I think (Edit: rather than “use his life”) it’s more like it signifies that he has drawn his blade for a purpose, so it’s more like a pledge that since he has drawn his blade now he will not go back on his word/oath.

@kawanvictor21 yup, and it's a very good reason, they call the admirals their weapons, and they are always 3, it's also a way to dehumanize them, they stop being a person and become weapons of justice, embodiment of their own sense of justice
278 is hands down one of the best Episodes of the entire Series. One small important bit is when Zoro says that he understands now. He was the only one of the Crew who was not immediately won over by Robin on Day One. He never 100% trusted her because he didnt fully know what her deal was. Up until now, even as he participated in a Mission to rescue her, he still harbored a small doubt. When he walked over to help the others pull Sogeking out of the roof, he shot Robin a stern sidewards glance as if to say „You better have a good reason.“ Now he understands. Now he can trust her.
one of my favorite small Zoro moments is despite up to that point never really trusting or liking Robin, he's still the first one we see intervene in the first vs Aokiji.
Fun Fact: The CP9 agent with gray hair, red shades, and blue earrings who was with Spandine on Ohara is named Laskey, and even though it is never stated in the manga or anime, he's actually the father of Kalifa.
One imo often overlooked moment in these episodes is the scene where Robin is rowing away in the raft: Everyone she knew died and her home was destroyed and still 8year old Robin tries to stay strong and derishishishi through the pain as Saul did during his death and as he taught her to do. But she can’t (who could?) and just breaks down crying as the camera pans to show a burning Ohara. Just absolutely crushed my heart
Yes.. I wanted to say that too.. Many people doesn't zoom into that part much, but if you imagine yourself as an 8yo rowing away from your homeland burning up in flames, everyone and everything you know is dead.. And you don't even know where you are going, who you can depend on.. Gosh I can't even imagine that as an adult.. That exactly amplified the terror and her fear of the buster call.
I love how Oda can pivot from comedy to tragedy to inspiring hope all within the same story arc and it fits perfectly he's truly a master of his craft and One Piece should be studied in schools
For real. It's some of the most brilliant themed storytelling there is. Oda literally risked his health to invent such genius creative writing. It shouldn't go to waste in the future.

The way he set up Robin as this dark mysterious figure and then the way he reveals everything, from just how important the poneglyphs are, the corruption in the World Gov organization, how her knowledge made her such a danger to them, the lies that were surrounding her, Luffy understanding the subcontext of who/why she was so scared/hurt, the light of the straw hats reaching her after we got to see the pain and darkness she went through, her inner dialogue as she shares her true self. If anyone has ever struggled with thoughts of wishing they were not alive, this was a moment of great impact. We know that feeling, and this scene with Robin is what helps remind us to keep going when things are tough.
Finally, my favorite episode of all One Piece I can watch it 1 million times and cry everytime
It's such a good thing robin didn't know usopp left the crew cause she would have believed her fear that the straw hats would betray her even more
Spandam is indeed the son of Spandine. Spandine was the former chief of CP9 and played a significant role during the Ohara Incident
"Hi againn Hylo and Kiss! 🌟
Episode 276 had me on the edge of my seat with the intense battles and the development of the characters. It’s fascinating how Oda weaves in the backstories and struggles of each character, making us feel so connected to them. I can’t get over how you pointed out the significance of Robin’s past and her relationship with the Straw Hats-it really added a deeper layer to the story.
And can we talk about episode 278? The animation quality is just stunning! The action sequences are getting more thrilling, and I found myself gasping at some of the twists and surprises. Your reactions to the cliffhangers were priceless! It’s moments like these that remind us why we’re all such huge fans of this series.
I also appreciate how you both bring your unique perspectives to the table. It’s refreshing to see two passionate fans who genuinely enjoy sharing their thoughts. Keep up the amazing work, and I can’t wait to see your reactions to the upcoming episodes! Here’s to more laughter, surprises, and epic adventures in the world of One Piece! 🏴☠️💖
This was the moment that truly stuck with me forever. Been following One Piece since 2007 and seeing where the manga is now just makes all of this hit harder. Robin is the best.
So appropriate that we're revisiting this part of the story with them given the current events
I had entirely forgotten that yesterday was One Piece day on your channel, and now I'm blubbering on a Saturday morning like Franky. IKITAI! 😭
I love when SniperKing shoots through the flag. It’s so badass
One Detail thats not in the anime but in the manga. It's no spoiler because somehow the anime just doesn't mention. The guy who shoots the evacuation ship is sakazuki, he is now an admiral like kuzan. So if you ever meet the other two admirals you will know that one of them is the guy from robins past
It's mentioned also in the anime, they said "It came from Vice Admiral Sakazuki's ship". Min 28:24
@eeydan yes they said his name but not that he is an admiral in the present time. In the manga it was said that he is Admiral akainu
@@lakubana92 oh, ok, good point, they will know it later anyway with our help but it's easier to understand it in the manga, many people probably didn't realize he's the same person in the first watch.
Still 𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂 too this day🔥👒.
What a Saul touching moment this was. ❤
Try not to cry for the thousandth time watching the scene again challenge: *Impossible*
So glad u guys watched the 3 episodes i was worried i was going to have to wait till monday for "I wanna live" 😭😭 always makes me cry these few eps if u guys can do watch that scene in the dub it's one of the best ❤
This is one of my favorite moment in One Piece. I cried so much watching it with you two. No other media has made me cry so many times before.
I really think Robin's flashback is peak, not only because how heartbreaking it is and how emotional we get watch it, but because as a historian myself I enjoy the theme behind it. One Piece is truly gold, how deep the story of our silly rubber man can get is amazing. I love this show to death and I'm crying once more watching this flashback
One of the greatest moments in the series to this day, still my favorite arc to this day you guys are so lucky to be watching this for the first time!
Found you guys recently and love the reactions. Super sweet ❤️
Don't worry you're gonna love Sakazuki even more
I can never watch the I WANT TO LIVE scene without tearing up. I’m not sure its possible
The name of that country would give away everything lol... oda said "sorry audience, its to soon for this reveal"
Now you know why Robin never called her by name. From now on she knows that she belongs to them.
I have been waiting for this since day one ❤
Sogeking shooting down the flag is an underrated moment...
Everyone else: "What do you mean? Everyone agrees it's one of the best moments in the show!"
Still underrated. That's just how good it is.
I feel like theres such a childlike quality to "take me out to see with you" that gets overlooked, its just so sweet
ngl, I'm impressed with how fast you guys are going through the episodes
I haven’t watched you two in a bit but oh my gosh those bangs look so good on you!!
Franky's reaction still sums up me whenever I see this episode. One of the many many good moments this story brings to the table. Oda-san is a genius.
You guys are amazing reactors! Always a pleasure to watch your videos!
