Yeah of course he has to get respect, but like it was said even bigger respect should also go to khalifa. Not only is her power a bit more complex to understand but also kaku had atleast 2 people, who he could get tips from (jabura and lucci are both also zoans, so they couldve given him a quick guide on his fruit), but khalifa had a weird power to begin with and kinda pulled some interessting attacks out of it. Sure i guess there was more potential, but for only some hours of time she had quite some good moves ready
This is actually my favourite fight scene in an arc full of incredibly good fight scenes. Kaku's increasingly bizarre techniques are just so much fun. The entire pasta machine sequence just made me laugh uncontrollably the first time I saw it.
2:16 I remember first time watching this episode very vividly. I was so angry and annoyed I literally could feel my heat up. Oda's ability to make us despise characters intended to be hated is unmatched.
Back then i was honestly not angry about spandam but a bit about storywriting on that part. I mean it even was stated before Hand, that spandam is even weaker then 1 little marine soldier and they tried to tell me robin couldnt overpower a weakling like him. Sure i know she doesnt had her powers and she gets weak from the handcuffs, but even a completly weakend robin should be able to slam him and then kick him in the face and run afterwards. Thats the only part i didnt liked on a perfect arc
Zoro's Lion Strike attack was the one he used to finally cut steel and defeat Mr 1, so that would be why he was confident it could cut through Kaku's Iron Body.
18:58 I first saw this scene about 17 years ago. To this day, it still haunts me. And I don't mean it in a negative way. The amount and level of emotions conveyed in that scene is just overwhelming. There's pain (physical and emotional), sure, but there's also hope and fear, to the level of panic, in fact, and trust, desperation, determination, all together and at once, in one single panel/scene. The level of expression Oda (and the team at Toei Animation) got there is so. fucking. powerful.
23:00 This is revealed in a cover series that was not adapted to the anime (that takes place after this arc, so I won't spoil the contents of it) and in the questions corner Oda has in the manga called SBS. CP9 agents are, for the most part, orphans raised to be assassins by the World Government. And I say for the most part because Kalifa is the daughter of the blond CP9 agent who was with Spandine in Robin's flashback, but AFAIK, she is the sole exception.
Kumadori is another exception, in a truly wild way: his mother is in fact still alive, and also an assassin herself (tho whether that was for the WG or not I don't think is known).
"Lion's Strike" is one of Zoro's most powerful techniques btw. It's what he used to defeat Mr. 1 and he mainly uses it against his toughest opponents. The fact Kaku tanked it is pretty impressive honestly.
This attack focus on Kakus iron body. If Kaku just defens himself with iron body, Zorro could cut him with lion strike. But Kaku block the attack with tempest kick. The surprise moment was gone for Zorro
it's more that he didn't tank it. In the manga Kaku outright said it would probably have worked on his iron body if he'd tried to take it head on. It's the slicing through steel move after all.
You might have noticed that Robin‘s voice sounds a bit different from episode 299 onwards. Thats because Yuriko Yamaguchi was on maternity leave at the time, Yuko Kobayashi filled in for her until Ep.319.
I still love that despite being the one who was most suspicious of Robin, Zoro's the one whose new ability resembles hers. Man maybe slow to warm up but once he does he's ride or die

3:32 "Nitoryu Nigiri" nigiri is written as "two slash" here, but is also the name of a style of sushi, this is relevant because every subsequent attacks he make here can be heard as a type of sushi. "Toro" and "Otoro" are fat part of Tuna, "Shamon" is salmon and so on. 4:00 "I've become a square with no blind spot" this works because square and blind-spot are both pronounced "Shikaku" in Japanese, ("Kaku" is angle and "shi" can be either the number four or death) so the giraf litteraly said "even though I'm a "shikaku" (square), I've no "shikaku" (blindspot). 6:09 "Nigorizake" with the proper kanji is a kind of sake (rice wine) which have residue clouding it. The moment in which she clings with her teeth to the bridge is so damn powerful and sad, especially considering how in her life she has been used, betrayed and sold by everyone to the point of feeling suicidal instincts. If it were not for Saul and her mother she would not be the person we see today. Ps. I hope Spandam will suffer so much that he can't even be pushed in a wheelchair, he will drink urine with intravenus-drip and his gums will bleed so much that he will choke on his own blood at night so he can't sleep. Too much?
I saw a video by someone who said One Piece is too long so they are only going to watch every 100th episode. When he got to 300 he was shocked by Zoro fighting a giraffe.
4:47 Yes, thats what i personally love about one piece fights, even when their serious, their still so goofy just by how the world is biuld and how ppls look and act, its so brilliant :D
Just found the channel. You are in one of One Piece's most amazing arcs right now and it's just about to get amazing. I'm really eager to see you make it to one certain episode in the near future, even though I already know I'm still not ready for it.
The last finish blow from Zorro was unable to block from Kaku. The Aura from Ashura made a projection of 9 swords and only 3 of them are real. Kaku was surprise Zorro go throw his tempest kick and get cut from all his 3 swords.
When you think about it it makes no sense for Kaku to have his midriff showing Look at Chopper. He got huuuuge and his hat and shorts grew accordingly. Kaku gets a bit elongated and his clothes can't fit him anymore
Zoro complaining about the use of "Pasta Machine" as an attack name is kinda hypocritical; at least half of his attacks in early One Piece are food puns in Japanese (case in point; Onigiri means rice ball and whatever demon slash is sometimes used as the English name).
Don't know if you'll see this comment, but Demon Aura isn't just show Zoro's power, but speed. He moves so fast that he gives the illusion of being 3 different begins. They're basically after images, but that's how I see it. It could be something else entirely
It's a bit of a shame these subtitles don't have the original names of the attacks - there's a ton of puns there. For example Zoro's attacks are often pronounced the same way as some kind of food. His trademark Demon Slice (oni-giri) also means riceball (onigiri), and the souped-up version he used in the Judicial Tower is called Enbima Yonezu Oni Giri, which can mean "with mayonnaise" (enbi-mayonesu). BTW, this could be a reference to another character voiced by the same voice actor, Hijikata Toushirou from Gintama, who is a massive mayonnaise addict. Also, the names of Kaku's attacks often incorporate "kirin", which is Japanese for "giraffe". For example his Giraffe Cannon is called "Kirimanjaro" in the original. Trivia! 😊
Don't know if you heard about it, but in the manga there are so called cover stories that were not adapted into the anime (for the most part). Maybe some patreons can give you a hand with those? They aren't mandatory, but they do expand the world and connect with the main story on some level (and are very quick to read)
At this point in the story, Garp doesn’t have the importance that you two are giving him. The live action made a choice to reveal that he is Luffy’s grandpa much earlier on for their narrative but the anime audience doesn’t know that yet.
I love that Oda can be really subtle with some stuff but when he wants you to hate someone, he will make you hate someone from the tip of your toes to the very core of your soul. Spandam is definitely on the top 10 most hated in the whole series.
Dang i forgot about how badly Robin got treated in this arc. I need to see Spandam mercilessly beaten. The Navy in this series is so horrible except for Garp and maybe Smoker.
Kaku is just a kid trained against his will to be a WG's assassin. His dream was to be a carpenter, he was really happy during his infiltration in Water 7.
Yeah and then on top of that he became besties with Rob Lucci of all people. We all know Lucci is perfectly happy where he is.
Even in the future- I feel for Kaku more than everyone else in CP, he's the only one in that organization with a decent size heart

Ps. I hope Spandam will suffer so much that he can't even be pushed in a wheelchair, he will drink urine with intravenus-drip and his gums will bleed so much that he will choke on his own blood at night so he can't sleep. Too much?
Before we ever met Zoro in Shells Town, Coby described him like a demon while he and Luffy were on their way to the prison yard.
Ashura is indian mythology reference
Many mythology has it even buddhism
Yeah it's called "Asura".

I saw a video by someone who said One Piece is too long so they are only going to watch every 100th episode. When he got to 300 he was shocked by Zoro fighting a giraffe.
Congrats ep 300 milestone🤩👍
4:47 Yes, thats what i personally love about one piece fights, even when their serious, their still so goofy just by how the world is biuld and how ppls look and act, its so brilliant :D
Just found the channel. You are in one of One Piece's most amazing arcs right now and it's just about to get amazing.
I'm really eager to see you make it to one certain episode in the near future, even though I already know I'm still not ready for it.
18:50 Haylee is SO over it. love how all she does is just wait... waiting for what's to come for him. She's not even reacting just waiting patiently.
The last finish blow from Zorro was unable to block from Kaku. The Aura from Ashura made a projection of 9 swords and only 3 of them are real. Kaku was surprise Zorro go throw his tempest kick and get cut from all his 3 swords.
この頃ロビンの声優は産休入ってたんだっけ
「生きたい」まではギリギリセーフだったんだよな
Our demon has finally arrived straight from hell!🔥🔥🔥
300 party 🥳🥳🥳
Now you’ve seen the demon God Asura, be ready to witness the glory of the God of Snipers.
Congrats on reaching 300....
Next episode is going to be... uhh Go D. ly.
congratulations to both of you,we are 300 episodes in!
First one who called Zoro a demon was Koby when he told Luffy about him. One of the first forshadowing examples of Odas storywriting.
21:43 ... yup ... it was Coby in episode1 !
he described zoro as a demon
When you think about it it makes no sense for Kaku to have his midriff showing
Look at Chopper. He got huuuuge and his hat and shorts grew accordingly. Kaku gets a bit elongated and his clothes can't fit him anymore
Remember when koby said, Zoro is as strong as 3 demons.
Kaku actually pissed zoro off after he made the comment on robin.😢
Zoro complaining about the use of "Pasta Machine" as an attack name is kinda hypocritical; at least half of his attacks in early One Piece are food puns in Japanese (case in point; Onigiri means rice ball and whatever demon slash is sometimes used as the English name).
he was just mocking Kaku for making it up on the spot for random stuff, not the food connotation
@@ZarathosDaimaoh Dude I know, but it is also hypocritical, which make sit funnier.
Don't know if you'll see this comment, but Demon Aura isn't just show Zoro's power, but speed. He moves so fast that he gives the illusion of being 3 different begins. They're basically after images, but that's how I see it. It could be something else entirely
Can't explain without spoiling, but it very definitely is something else entirely. The Wano arc gives some more information.
One Piece is cool to me because the Straw Hats can be legitimately frightening characters.
girls, garp is scarier than buster call, just trust me
so ain't no way garp on that ship 😂
1 Garp = 10 buster calls
In terms of character personality my favorite CP9 member is Kaku
In terms of combat prowess my favorite is Lucci.
This. arc Is the first awakening of Demon Trio..🔥🔥🔥🔥
Zoro is a BEAST .. Zoan Type Devil Fruit is known to be SUPER STRONG and DURABLE
6:20 kiss always have unexpected things😂 good reaction sisters❤
🔥🔥🔥 zoro moment
always an intresting intro you got lol
girls please watch and post on a daily basis cause at this pace it would take 2 full years to catch up 😭😭😭😭
2:49 "Target the pidgeon!" 🤣🤣
Ngl that's always on my mind seeing this fight, f*cking pidgeon
Asura makes debut 🔥🔥🔥
These 2 episodes make you hate Spandam even more..
i'm telling you by the end of this arc you will watch the best 250 episodes of your life
Dang i forgot about how badly Robin got treated in this arc.
I need to see Spandam mercilessly beaten. The Navy in this series is so horrible except for Garp and maybe Smoker.
Hi do you guys have a booster box of one piece romance dawn cards on your shelf? keeping it sealed if so ?
Kaku is Similar to Chopper when he Can't Control His Devil Fruit
peak is coming... im so excited to see you react to one of the best anime moments of all time soon
Zoro is cursed from Japanese demons like Asura and Oni, its like he's borrowing power from them, and they are binded to his swords
all sword styles by now: no-sword style ,one sword style, two sword style, three sword style, nine sword style
I want you to look at the summer time renderings
