In Sweden its tradition to put a big bundle of firtree outside the door in wintertime ( if you live in a house) to keep bad spirits outside. It looks nice too of course and practical to brush of the snow on ❤❤ the spitit thing is probably forgotten...

Just a note for anyone watching. Make sure you can identify your evergreens properly. Yew is an evergreen and is poisonous

      Yeah, don’t eat Yew. 🤢
Also she has juniper, not cedar 😉

      @@Marta_is_herearen't they the same thing?

    • @Marta_is_here
      @Marta_is_here 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@anidnmeno Juniper makes berries, cedar does not. True cedar has needles, juniper has scales.
there are many types of juniper and cedar trees.
Here in Texas they call the junipers in hill country “mountain cedar” but it’s not cedar at all, it was misidentified 100 years ago and the name stuck even though everyone knows they are juniper trees.

@@Marta_is_hereShe's actually using Western Redcedar, _Thuja plicata._ It is not a true cedar (of the _Cedrus_ genus), but here in the Pacific Northwest we often simply call it Cedar.

With the construction that you have going on in this video, I didn't hear any of it at all so, I don't know about anybody?. Anyway great video thanks for that, evergreens are my favorite especially when it comes to candles or oils I'll put a little drop of evergreen oil just one on my lamp like on top of the light bulb just one little drop and then of course you know you turn your light bulb on and then when it gets hot you can smell it throughout the room. I've been doing this for many many years long before I had my daughter and she's going to be 33 this year. So FYI if anybody would like to try it just one little drop on the bulb any sense that you like to do either, put one drop on the bulb, turn on your light and let it do its thing and then if you want to do it again with that same bulb I always take a damp cloth and wipe the top of it you know cuz sometimes oil has that little bit of build up and we want to be fire safety. Safety first. 😘🐾... 🌛🌚🌜🐾

    I love your juniper bundle!
I have lots of juniper here in Texas and have been collecting berries this season.
I just bought some of the soft kind like you have, in a large bouquet with some pine at Trader Joe’s! It’s their “evergreen bouquet” I’m so excited!!
I’m originally from the northwest and miss the pine.
Can’t wait to get to work.
(Why do so many call Juniper Cedar? )
    Lovely video as always 💫

I left a reply on your other comment, but for the reference of anyone else reading this, Annie is not using Juniper here, but Western Redcedar, _Thuja plicata._ It is also known simply as Cedar here in the Pacific Northwest. While it is not of the _Cedrus_ genus, neither is it of the _Juniperus_ genus as Juniper is. They are both in the Cypress family, which is why they look similar.

Hi! I have a bunch of pine needles that I want to wrap into a smudge bundle, but I'm scared that once it dries out it could be a fire hazard as I've heard they can be quite flammable. Should I worry about this and take safety precautions ahead of time?
    Thanks!

I really like the idea of hanging evergreen above my bed, but last year I had this homemade rug with something living in it and I was bitten really badly! I am thus a bit paranoid, so how do you clean the evergreen first without stripping it of its natural energies? Im thinking I could wash it in water and then wave it through smoke?
Also we could barely hear the construction works, don’t worry! 😉

I noticed you have not mentioned Redwood. What would be the properties of Redwoods? I am making some bundles to "gift" at my Yule celebration. There is a Redwood across the street from me that I have watched grow for 30+ years. It has provided evening shade during the summer all over my yard and house. I really want to hold that spirit in a redwood bundle but not if there could be harm to anyone that I gift it to.
