This drum is awesome, I agree, but the way you mic and mix your sound makes all the difference👍🏻👍🏻. PS, I have two of these, one with yamaha vintage wood hoops. You should try it, absolutely worth it👌🏼👌🏼
Sadly I agree, since TH-cam changed the algorithm again and now running two major ones I can barely crack 1000 views a vid.....sadly the end might be nigh.
I bookmarked this comment so I could return to it: I prefer the Haynes over the standard copper as I found it a little to dark but....I love the tone, aggression and power of the Bordin.
It’s an amazing video but I would really prefer to hear it without the large room. The room has character just like any reverb and does confuse the sonic picture a bit. Otherwise the way all different tunings are presented is brilliant
Tell me about it, this was the only space I had and the owner wouldn’t allow any construction to seal in the space. Once the lease was up I was out of there. Occasionally I revisit some drums because of this issue.
You make great recordings and you are great player but for this sort of video, I'd like to hear the snare without the reverb - the reverb colors the sound significantly. And sounds weird in the mix with out any reverb on the bass drum.
Just bought one yesterday on Roy Haynes 98 birthday. What a beautiful with a double digit serial number. I am totally blessed
Congrats on your new acquisition, it's a brilliant snare.
Best snare drum ever. No matter where I hear one of these it's just owning the airwaves
Something about this drum that just sings.
Wonderful snare drum. That high tuning is lethal! ! !
I played it just the other day and copper does not disappoint.
this snare is on another level - Carter Beauford used this .... such a solid and pleasant sound at the same time

I will dig the Fig out and swap the hoops over.
Man...you channel is criminally unwatched. Another great video!

Damn, seriously this is one of the best snare drums I have ever heard. I wish I would've purchased this year's ago instead of my Steve Gad maple
But the GADD maple is also damn awesome.
Which new line drum Yamaha do you think would get me closest to this sound? I can’t pay the piece of history price tag right now. Thanks
I bought one 1 month ago. Beautifull shell with dark fondamental note. But hard to find the sweet spot between tuning and best batter head..
I have been using it A LOT in the studio and it's one of the dark horse snares I found can be used on almost anything.
@@IAMDRUMMER yeah! Versatile.. and complex. I'll try thinner heads like caftone on top and 200mil snare side.. Maybe i'll hear the best it can give..
@@Odthean maybe one day
@@Odthean ok. understood but It's not for today
Oh no, how bad was it?
How does this compare to the Yamaha Copper 14x6 Snare Drum that you also reviewed?

I they early videos while I was at my factory that was a 320sqm concrete box, the reverb you hear is all natural and was very hard to control.
@@IAMDRUMMER wow great room sound! I can imagine it felt constraining. Keep up the good work!
Do you know where I can buy one of these? Is this one for sale I am Drummer ?????
Check placed like Reverb, Guitar Centre online and of course eBay. This one isn't sole sale as is a collectors item.
I have one for sale David
@@mulhacen8315 How much is it for sale?
@@sigstha HI Sigfried, already sold sorry.
@@mulhacen8315 Aaaah ok, thanks
Your snare drum videos are not recorded well. Is it the mic placement?
Placement is OK but I am only working within my means. Maybe you could create some videos of your own showing proper mic placement etc.
