It's cool to see Alex review a car so close to the one I have. The regular 300 was good enough, I didn't need AMG.
Why do so many people think something only has merit if it is of interest/use to *them*? These coupe suvs are selling in large enough numbers to show there is a market for them. Not everyone needs the practicality of a traditional suv - and looks are subjective, with choice being a good thing.

Alex, the only thing that bugs me about this video is that your camera on the steering wheel is not sync'd with your talking. Small nitpick, but it is what it is.

The regular version which I have is very rare to find! They mass produce the coupe. Where I live, I have never seen a GLC43 suv! I am the only one with it since I have had it for 5 months.
I like the regular, non-coupe AMG version. I think it looks better and is more usable.

Agreed. This isn’t even a coupé, which has two doors. It’s actually a slightly lifted 5 door lift back.

Those are not true quad exhausts. they do have pipes behind that exhaust tip. I have the c63s and it still have fake exhaust tips.
I think of this version of the GLC 43 is that of the new sports "sedan" to the American market. I still prefer the GLC 43 in the standard SUV version.

Do left hand drive models suffer from the terrible tyre scrub when turning corners as do right hand drive cars? In the UK these models hop and skip in those conditions as if there was a frozen front differential. It is so bad that the tyre sidewalls squirm and traction is lost every few feet in a turn, resulting in jerks and sharp thumps that can be felt and heard.
Mercedes claim that this is 'normal'. The only answer that have is to recommend fitting narrower 'winter' wheels and tyres, which is no answer at all and doesn't work. Type this into Google and follow a few links….. ' mercedes glc tyre skipping '

Seems like meaningless horsepower/torque wars going on with this type of vehicle. While I greatly appreciate having ample power for safe merging and passing and quick moves in city traffic I don't see a great need for 0-60 times of under 6.5 seconds. The standard version of this crossover and the BMW X-3, and the Audi Q-5 among others have plenty of power to perform safely and confidently.

You are right, I misspoke but TH-cam doesn't let us annotate or correct as they used to :-\ This is the *only* AMG engine that isn't, hence my confusion. For some reason I thought this one was but the 2.0L wasn't. My bad.

I just wanted to confirm as I have always heard these are not "real" amg products because the engines are not hand built, which I agree with somewhat. That metal placque with a Germans name on it is pretty special

Some customers want something that is taller and bigger than a performance sedan, but they don't want to give up on the performance o drive like a tank. So they manufacturers come out with performance SUVs like these which is taller, bigger and don't sacrifice the performance or the driving dynamic. These performance SUV definitely aren't meant to carry 5 full size adults in the car.

I have a 43 (M276 3.0 L V6 Bi-Turbo) and it isn't hand built. GREAT engine... not tuned to its full potential but still GREAT. Also, nothing close to proper in-house/hand built AMG engine.
Raman Deol hand built or not hand built it’s still a Mercedes. I bought the GLC43 fully loaded for $84 out the door and I loved it. I could have waited for the v8 but it’s not worth it considering my suv hit 60mph in 4.1 seconds.
On paper, this is a great crossover, but when you look at it in person, it is missing something.

Can someone explain why car reviewers make such a big deal over 0-60 acceleration times ? Who buys a car over another because of a one or two second difference in the acceleration ?

I’ve never really understood coupe SUV’s. It destroys practicality which is the main focus of an SUV. If anyone can give me a legitimate reason to buy a coupe over a traditional crossover (besides styling) please share it
Admittedly, i am not a huge cuv suv fan but at to this vehicle i can only say “why?” There are far more affordable, utilitarian suvs out there at a fraction of the cost
It is pathetic how much MB lags behind on infotainment. The screens are so small and the software is garbage.
According to CAR AND DRIVER, the "Rolling start" accelerations of the GLC43 coupe and non-coupe versions are virtually the same (5.4 vs 5.3). Yet you have to pay $4,150 more for the uglier coupe?! No thanks.

You can't have it all. You can get all the styling, driving dynamics, safety, technology that you want, but you'll have to pay for it with pricing and reliability.
You could get the Japanese alternatives, but they won't handle as well, be as comfortable to drive, have as much tech, or be as safe in a crash as the Germans. Your call. Pick what you want. If you lease these as most buyers do, then the reliability doesn't matter.
Crossover coupes are pointless.
