    • @acuenca19
      @acuenca19 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

Michali Fabian I think you're right. When your abs muscles are tonified making simple planks, you can increase time duration a lot cuz you can not increase your abs muscles contraction. So if you reach 3:00 minutes, you must change your thoughts.
1.-Your focus in beating your record is wrong. It's not about getting more & more time. You will get more work making several series of 1:30 mimutes maximun.
2.-Try to make different versions of ab planks not only static exercises but dinamic ab planks. Try to make different variations of isometric planks. For example: first of all make isometric side support series and when you reach 1:00 minute, make it touching floor with your hip & ellevate until start position of isometric side support.
Greetings from Spain from Angelus P.T.

You could also try adding weights such as a weighted belt or jacket or just buying a cheap school backpack and putting sandbags or something inside it. The weights should rest steady on your back or waist such that they don't fall to the left or the right and try to flip you over (unless you are doing that on purpose).

Thank you! I've never planked and this was surprisingly intense.

When you think of the exercise, it seems really simple and you might think "oh this is easy, I can do this for 5 min easily".
Then when you actually try it you're violently shaking after 20 seconds. 😅

I reached 20m yesterday after nearly one year planking. All my body sweated out. I got some mistakes that you indicate in this videos. I'll fix it to get better. Thanks a lot

Grafxgrl Of course, 20 minutes. I’ve heard that a Chinese police man had made the world record for planking in over 8 hours and a half. That’s not my goal, but I’m still trying to make it longer and longer. I can feel a lot of good things have changed in my core.

Binh Duong Nguyen that’s amazing and impressive! I started this two days ago. I weigh 150, am 5’5, 61, and stayed up less than 5 seconds!! I did it a few times. Holy cow this is hard. I tried it on my mattress to soften it on my toes and arms.

@@grafxgrl8030 at first, I started with some tiny apps on appstore about planking. I followed the workout each morning, began with only 15s. After 30 days, reaching 5m with my best efforts. I set my goal increasing 1m for each month. I was so surprised that i could eqsily reach 15m after trying 11m for several days. But you know, more interesting that when I got 15m, my body was not sweat out as it had been at 11m. And now at 20m, I still feel free at 15m, just start dropping the first dew at minute 16.
I hope you can get that motivation and experience the feeling that I have.

Planking was invented by the Devil himself. Shortly after inventing the “Horse stance” 😭

Should my whole body make a straight, descending line or does my back need to straight and flat?

    My takeaways
    -No flared elbows
    -Tight fists
    -Push the floor with forearms
    -Straight and engaged lower body
-Hip and shoulder in a line
-No excess lower back engagement.(This becomes my limiting factor at the end of a set)

Great job man, plank needs clarification as it is not easy to know how we are performing it without filming ourselves and because there is so much misunderstanding about the form out there. Great content and clarity as usual
