Great video! I just received and installed my Eonon headunit for my 2007 Mazda 3. It's the latest model with Android 11 and I'm honestly blown away by it. There are heaps of mixed reviews, but I'm finding it to be quite an impressive system for the price. Connects wirelessly to Android Auto as soon as I turn it on. No boot load time either, just starts instantly (not sure if it's achieving this through a sleep mode, so hope it's not draining my battery). My only issue is that it doesn't sit completely flush with the console and the Google Assistant is a bit inconsistent (but I think that's an Android issue). Looking forward to playing around with it more, as it has given new life to the interior of my car!
I couldn’t agree more, I believe for the price it’s not bad, mine isn’t the fastest and best but it really changed up my car and made me enjoy it again. For me it was a great upgrade vs getting an entire new car. How’s the performance on yours? I’m considering upgrading to that one just so I can do a video on it.
@@D_Spear performance is great. My concern was going to be the boot time, but other than the first time I turned it on it loads instantly. I pretty much only use Android Auto, so there isn't really a delay when using that, but did find the onboard apps when hotspoting from my phone to be a tad slower.
I actually had both the Eonon GA9463B on Android 10, which was CRAP. I actually was scared for my safety because it was so slow I found myself trying to play with the menu for so long instead of looking at the road. I never though about this before buying and never considered this can actually be a safety hasard. I then complained for 6 months with video proof that their unit was the biggest crap any company could release ,and we ended up agreeing on me receiving their newer R63 unit. And as much as I hated the GA9463B and even feared for my safety, the R63 was so amazing I really was blown away. Conclusion: Buy their higher end unit, not all their product are good quality, but their higher end / newer units are definitely worth the buy! I also appreciated their responsiveness when communicating, it is reinsurring having people to help you out when you have different problems installing / updating their unit.

Do you have the android 11 or android 10 model? I have the android 10 model for my mazda 6 2008 and it does not support wireless android auto as I believe... i dont want to connect via USB because their dongle is crap and the old USB2.0 of the device does not output enough power to charge the phobe...

Dont know if its going to fix mine. it's been on longer than it has in a month. Under that one 5802 menu. I went on the one to switch the controls. Put it on bt1 and it has worked so far.

Idk which one you have but there was a menu for mine that you had to manually set the buttons to have the functions you want. By default they had no inputs. I have the newest one with the snapdragon 12 and 6gb ram and tiltable screen.
There's a gain setting on that hidden menu. I raised the gain so that my voice is louder but so will the background noise. One thing to do is mount the mic on a soft surface like the headliner, I noticed when mounted on a solid surface it tends to pickup more noice.

How to set up when I click on the widget the weather app open but not work and nothing changed when I refresh in weather app i got this error Network location failed because baidu location service can not calculate the location when I installed a different weather apps from Play store that working too. I’m not an audio geek by any means but it would compare it to stock sound quality. I think you should just compare price points and see what best suits you. I’d say this unit lives up to the cost of it but it’s not a performance monster at all.
Hi, awsome video. I got a eonon r51 head unit this fall with a backup CAM and got a workshop to install it. Im now having a strange issue where the sound from the speakers dissapear after I pull it out of reverse. Ive looked around in the settings i access with the 126 password. Got any idea what setting I should look for? Heard its because the CAM is powering from the ground and not the battery
There is a setting in the rear view camera app where it ask if you want to mute or turn down the radio when in reverse. Not positive where but look into rear camera settings. I have an Eonon radio, so it can be changed.

Hmm that’s very odd it’s not working already. What I would do is use a fuse tap from the fuse block on the driver side. One of the cig lighters is a switched 12v with the key, I actually used it when I installed factory fog lights. If you haven’t ever used a fuse tap before they are very simple, just takes up a factory fuse slot and taps off of it, and you can pretty much place two fuses in one spot, Amazon sells them, just make sure you get the correct style fuse tap for the Mazda, I don’t recall the type of fuses they take. My Mercedes’ c230 uses similar device. Now my backup camera isn’t working. Whenever I put on reverse gear it shows no signal on the screen. Can u help on how to fix it please Thanks
On my R80 I went to settings>car>factory settings then entered the code found in the user manual. On the next screen choose the "other" tab at the top right of the screen but different model Eonon might have a different screen layout.Then scroll down to "LED panel" or something similar and set it to "power". This way the buttons light up when the unit powers on.
my reply to your question might not help at all because i have a different model eonon. looks like other models have an illumination wire that you have to connect to a power source.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re overwhelmed with installing this! There is not an app for the backup camera, when you put the car in reverse you should see the backup camera automatically if you installed the camera correctly.
You have to change the type or resolution of camera if not it will say no signal or nothing at all when in reverse. It happened to me I reinstalled it 4x thinking I connected wrong wire SMH 😢
So I'm confused I body used radio from side yard and it has the same design on it that it's not got the same thanks thanks and I'm thinking that I've seen it with a different name any ideas
Yes there is a feature that turns it off I guess so you can focus on reversing, kind of odd. I know you can turn it off though. Even the newer Eonon units do this still.
Does anyone know how to increase the overall Bluetooth Music Volume? Even when I turn the volume all the way up it is still very low. Mobile phone volume is fully up. I don't have this problem with my pioneer Radio in the other car. I already tried to increase the BT Music Volume in the settings, but that does nothing...
When i use carplay the sound for the phone call is low and the car phone pad unterferes with the carplay i have to maximize then switch to carplay to remove it out of the way

From what I remember it’s all plug and play, don’t think there was anything separate for the steering wheel controls. Which buttons aren’t working? I know that you will loose the call button I wanna say no matter what.
@@DarrellMaurice I would contact Eonon via Facebook messenger, they usually respond in a day or so but they should be able to have you troubleshoot the issue. My guess is a setting isn’t right on the unit and they can have you fix it.
sounds like you might be missing the CAN bus, its a red block that connects to wire thats bundled with the power. I just installed mine yesterday and forgot about it which caused my controls to not work. Make sure to reset the eonon after plugging it in. Good luck!
Only way that I’ve found is to change the app launcher, not too familiar with how android works but that’s what I’ve read. It doesn’t sound too appealing cause some say you loose the radio app and you have to do some other things to get it back.

Is there a way to master reset the unit. Mines is stuck in rotation and can access apps. I reset it. Unplugged it and still the same I told it remember but I did save or import. I restarted the unit however it did save the settings

@@gedneystoute4268 I am sure you have figured this out by now, but for others, there are two different wiring schematics, one for bose and one for non-bose. My guess is you used the non-bose schematic. At least I hope so, as I just ordered one for my MS3 Gen1 with bose. :|
Yes it has apple CarPlay, all you need to do is connect your iPhone via the included USB port and you’re good to go. Nothing else extra is needed to make that work.
The Eonon units do not have any 4G LTE hardware built in. I had thought the same thing because they say it’s LTE ready, but it can only connect to a LTE hotspot or USB hotspot. It does not take a sim hard or anything because it doesn’t have the hardware. You should be able to just buy a usb hotspot in your country and make it work like that.
Whats the major difference between 2gb and 3gb… i had order one for my Hyundai Elantra but i am bit confuse about the Ram and hows the sound quality… thanks
The 3gb model will be able to run more things at once, it will likely be faster because of that. I’d recommend the 3gb model forsure. I don’t believe I had that option when I was buying…the sound quality is about the same as stock for me. I didn’t notice it being any worse or any better, kind of what I expected. Very cool that they make them for Elantra’s, what year is yours?

I believe its already activated, Pretty sure it’s called RDS? Mine shows the song. Some stations do not do it but most of the stations show the name of the song.
Yes you can have both, I have not tried to connect my accounts though. You will need WiFi or a WiFi hotspot to have it work, download the apps on the google play store.
@@D_Spear I have an Xtrons That looks the same as yours but has different UI for certain apps 2013 Mazda3, Android 10, 9" touch screen... But it's really Android 9. Use a system scan app. You'll see that all they did was change the version name in the coding if they scammed on the Android version for your brand of head unit. Neither Hulu or Netflix shows up in Google play store. Honestly, I'd rather just kickstand my 8" tablet on the dash above the center vents to watch streaming videos other than TH-cam. While I'm not driving. The viewing angle of the stereo doesn't look great for the passenger. Also, with the tablet. I can use a PS4 controller and retro game emulators. PS4 controller won't pair with the stereo. I soon plan to mount a tv to my trunk lid and install a MINIX Android tv box in the trunk and have some collapsible folding chairs for some tail gating multimedia action. Im a fan of a more traditional UI for Android. Nova Launcher is really good. Let's you customize the UI with many options. The main code for my unit is 8888 My stereo sounded tons better when I used the filter to take all the bass out of the front speakers. I left the highs and bass up in the back. The rear door speakers are 6" sub woofers. The front door 6" speakers are mid range with side view mirror positioned tweeters. Stereo is a lot less muddy this way.
You will need to download or save the APK to a USB to get a working version of Netflix because of how Netflix uses WideVine DRM. There is an app to check what WideVine is installed, which will show the L1/L3 version installed, which is needed to watch content, and the L1/L3 will give you the APK version that should work. The Play Store version is restricted to Netflix-approved devices that have the WideVine L1/L3 DRM, and Chinese Android builders can’t/don’t pay Netflix to be on the approved list.

To have the button lights always on you have to attach the orange illumination wire to a constant 12v. I suggest just attaching it to the red wire (ignition wire that tells the radio to turn on)
@D_Spear do the ua12s model too lol. I have it and I still don't know much about it. I've just done the basic things like setting my steering wheel controls and adding a few apps, messed around with the equalizer.
Did you manage to correct the timing, date & coordinates on the dashcam app? Does the dashcam app re-records on the older files? I ordered mine couple days ago.

I think you can go to Settings/apps and permissions/ "your app in question" and "set as default". Hope it helps, this is just an assumption.

Where do you get the factory pw? Is it located in the device manual?
For this model I read it online somewhere and it didn’t say in the manual. For some newer Eonon units the password is in the manual.

Hmm that’s very odd it’s not working already. What I would do is use a fuse tap from the fuse block on the driver side. One of the cig lighters is a switched 12v with the key, I actually used it when I installed factory fog lights. If you haven’t ever used a fuse tap before they are very simple, just takes up a factory fuse slot and taps off of it, and you can pretty much place two fuses in one spot, Amazon sells them, just make sure you get the correct style fuse tap for the Mazda, I don’t recall the type of fuses they take. Hello. Nice video. I have an android 13 stereo and I can't find a way to see the hidden files. Any idea how to do it?
Any way to get those buttons on the device to light up? I got one very simular and its hard to see in the dark the buttons
On my R80 I went to settings>car>factory settings then entered the code found in the user manual. On the next screen choose the "other" tab at the top right of the screen but different model Eonon might have a different screen layout.Then scroll down to "LED panel" or something similar and set it to "power". This way the buttons light up when the unit powers on.
my reply to your question might not help at all because i have a different model eonon. looks like other models have an illumination wire that you have to connect to a power source.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re overwhelmed with installing this! There is not an app for the backup camera, when you put the car in reverse you should see the backup camera automatically if you installed the camera correctly.

You have to change the type or resolution of camera if not it will say no signal or nothing at all when in reverse. It happened to me I reinstalled it 4x thinking I connected wrong wire SMH 😢

Yes there is a feature that turns it off I guess so you can focus on reversing, kind of odd. I know you can turn it off though. Even the newer Eonon units do this still.
Does anyone know how to increase the overall Bluetooth Music Volume? Even when I turn the volume all the way up it is still very low. Mobile phone volume is fully up. I don't have this problem with my pioneer Radio in the other car. I already tried to increase the BT Music Volume in the settings, but that does nothing...
after turning on swip up on screen go to dsp , yo have your equilizer settings there
When i use carplay the sound for the phone call is low and the car phone pad unterferes with the carplay i have to maximize then switch to carplay to remove it out of the way

From what I remember it’s all plug and play, don’t think there was anything separate for the steering wheel controls. Which buttons aren’t working? I know that you will loose the call button I wanna say no matter what.
@@D_Spear The volume or channel buttons aren't working at all. And oh ok I never used the call button anyway lol
@@DarrellMaurice I would contact Eonon via Facebook messenger, they usually respond in a day or so but they should be able to have you troubleshoot the issue. My guess is a setting isn’t right on the unit and they can have you fix it.

sounds like you might be missing the CAN bus, its a red block that connects to wire thats bundled with the power. I just installed mine yesterday and forgot about it which caused my controls to not work. Make sure to reset the eonon after plugging it in. Good luck!

Only way that I’ve found is to change the app launcher, not too familiar with how android works but that’s what I’ve read. It doesn’t sound too appealing cause some say you loose the radio app and you have to do some other things to get it back.

Is there a way to master reset the unit. Mines is stuck in rotation and can access apps. I reset it. Unplugged it and still the same I told it remember but I did save or import. I restarted the unit however it did save the settings
Hi i have this for my Gen 1 Sped 3 radio i installed this radio but i have no sound can you help i read you need to power the Bose amp to allow the speakers to work .

@@gedneystoute4268 I am sure you have figured this out by now, but for others, there are two different wiring schematics, one for bose and one for non-bose. My guess is you used the non-bose schematic. At least I hope so, as I just ordered one for my MS3 Gen1 with bose. :|

Yes it has apple CarPlay, all you need to do is connect your iPhone via the included USB port and you’re good to go. Nothing else extra is needed to make that work.
Is there any way you can unlock the 4G LTE frequency bands..? Need some open to allow a Sim to work in my country
The Eonon units do not have any 4G LTE hardware built in. I had thought the same thing because they say it’s LTE ready, but it can only connect to a LTE hotspot or USB hotspot. It does not take a sim hard or anything because it doesn’t have the hardware. You should be able to just buy a usb hotspot in your country and make it work like that.

Whats the major difference between 2gb and 3gb… i had order one for my Hyundai Elantra but i am bit confuse about the Ram and hows the sound quality… thanks
The 3gb model will be able to run more things at once, it will likely be faster because of that. I’d recommend the 3gb model forsure. I don’t believe I had that option when I was buying…the sound quality is about the same as stock for me. I didn’t notice it being any worse or any better, kind of what I expected. Very cool that they make them for Elantra’s, what year is yours?

I have a very similar unit by seicane and I just plugged my usb dvr front camera and downloaded the app but the picture / video is sideways (vertical) and I can't find a setting to fix it.. there's the auto rotate that does nothing..

I believe its already activated, Pretty sure it’s called RDS? Mine shows the song. Some stations do not do it but most of the stations show the name of the song.

You use the buttons on the left side of the unit or the steering wheel controls. A little bit of a learning curve but I don’t miss the volume knob.

Yes you can have both, I have not tried to connect my accounts though. You will need WiFi or a WiFi hotspot to have it work, download the apps on the google play store.

2013 Mazda3, Android 10, 9" touch screen... But it's really Android 9. Use a system scan app. You'll see that all they did was change the version name in the coding if they scammed on the Android version for your brand of head unit.
Neither Hulu or Netflix shows up in Google play store.
Honestly, I'd rather just kickstand my 8" tablet on the dash above the center vents to watch streaming videos other than TH-cam. While I'm not driving.
The viewing angle of the stereo doesn't look great for the passenger.
Also, with the tablet. I can use a PS4 controller and retro game emulators.
PS4 controller won't pair with the stereo.
I soon plan to mount a tv to my trunk lid and install a MINIX Android tv box in the trunk and have some collapsible folding chairs for some tail gating multimedia action.

My stereo sounded tons better when I used the filter to take all the bass out of the front speakers.
I left the highs and bass up in the back.
The rear door speakers are 6" sub woofers.
The front door 6" speakers are mid range with side view mirror positioned tweeters.
Stereo is a lot less muddy this way.
You will need to download or save the APK to a USB to get a working version of Netflix because of how Netflix uses WideVine DRM. There is an app to check what WideVine is installed, which will show the L1/L3 version installed, which is needed to watch content, and the L1/L3 will give you the APK version that should work.
The Play Store version is restricted to Netflix-approved devices that have the WideVine L1/L3 DRM, and Chinese Android builders can’t/don’t pay Netflix to be on the approved list.

To have the button lights always on you have to attach the orange illumination wire to a constant 12v. I suggest just attaching it to the red wire (ignition wire that tells the radio to turn on)

@D_Spear do the ua12s model too lol. I have it and I still don't know much about it. I've just done the basic things like setting my steering wheel controls and adding a few apps, messed around with the equalizer.

It doesn’t have a slot for one, just a usb A port for a usb drive which is a pig tail.
Did you manage to correct the timing, date & coordinates on the dashcam app? Does the dashcam app re-records on the older files? I ordered mine couple days ago.
