Ecuador Llama Racing: Kids race llamas for pride and their environment

In Ecuador's highlands, tiny riders and their woolly steeds have competed for local pride at an annual race called Llamingada. But even the young competitors are using the spectacle to draw attention to their unique ecosystem and the need to preserve it. Sumeyye Ceylan explains.

Llamas are pack animals that can carry up to 30 kg (66 lbs), kids that age weight that or even less, is not a problem for them

It's mostly a tiny female in the race. Everything is fine for the llamas
