I started with 10 daily, then 12... in the span of 3 weeks I am already doing 60 a day, resting every 4-5. Even today I broke the 60 barrier. I hope to be doing 100 in 10 days or so. It is all about starting with something doable and then increase at your own pace.
Currently doing 75 daily, 50 in one set plus 25 on second and run 30 minutes Monday through Friday! Been on this plan for 3 weeks now!! Mindset improved almost instantly and now body is starting to catch up to my mindset #adaptation #trustprocess
I'm 54 and I can do 70 in a single set of failure. I do two sets of 50 for the 2 minute timer set to do it 2 minute plank per set every morning. Increasing my time under tension with the two minute plank definitely increased my single set to failure. Thank you 👍
At age 54 it is an incredible achievement! I do not have exact data, but I'm sure most people around this age cannot do even 5 - 10. Even I am struggling to do 25 in a single set and I'm only 30.
@@gmark247 Start doing them every morning you will go up. Also set a timer for 2 minutes and hold the plank after you can't do anymore your numbers will go up quickly. Thank you 👍
@@kingfisher2259 Awesome 😎 I'm doing the same thing at 54 and I'm hoping I can maintain it till I'm your age. 50 push-ups at 69 is pretty incredible at one set. I can do more but I don't try to go all the way to fatigue. Thank you 👍
Make sure to change up your form, if you do push ups from your lower chest with ur hands relatively close together it'll do more for your lower chest rather than ur shoulders/back of your arms.
I usually do 56 at once, 1 minute rest and then 40, 1 min. rest and 22. It may sounds weird but works for me. 4-5 times a week for more than 10 years. Warm ups and stretching are very important. I used to follow push up challenge but not anymore.
I started with 12 as my maximum reps. Happy to say that after 2 years of slowly progressing, currently on 20 Wall-assisted Handstand pushups, 30 Pseudo-planche pushups and 50 strict-form pushup with 2 minute break in between variation
Two weeks ago, I started the 100 push ups a day challenge. My highest rep was 20, but now I can do 50 push ups in at once. I managed to reached 500 pushups a day, just once.😄😁
I started off doing 100 a day but just breaking it into many different sets of 10-20 reps throughout the day. Then I was able to do 25-30 per set. I continued doing 100 daily and I started doing a little more than 100 because I was doing 30+ reps and realized it was getting easy. Then it just became a daily routine and it makes me feel good and gives me a pump. It got to the point before I went out in public I would sneak off to the bathroom just to do pushups and get a pump lol
@@raulmihaistioboranu3391 I started doing push-ups at the age of 17. I couldn't do three at once. but I was persistent and made it to 25/30 in one series. but I used to do 10/15 sets of 25 push-ups a day. my friends couldn't believe that I was like that just from doing push-ups. If I could, believe me, anyone can. I was weak, thin, allergies, asthma. I had a doctor's exemption from physical education throughout my whole education.
Six months ago at the age of 75, had abdominal surgery and lost lots of muscle and strength. Started with single push-up sets of 10, scaled it up as my strength returned, now doing 40 to 45 per set, then another set of the same number on my knees. Reckon I'll stick with this routine but increase it to 3 sets per day. No real stress, quite do-able.
Currently am doing 100 pushups every day. 40 reps for the first set, 20 reps for the second, 15 for the third & fourth set, and finally complete with 10 reps
I am 84 and was doing 100 pushups a day until I got the omnicron a year ago. That took me down severely in strength caused by a total lack of apetite for three weeks. However, since I have done pushups since I was 8 had to get back at it. Currently I am doing a couple sets of 35-40 a day, but my mind is set on gettingback to 100. I used to do two sets of 50 a day, but I also would do 100 per set a couple times a week. I had a love and hate attitude until I was 75, then suddenly I loved doing them. Great excercise for body and mind.
I'm glad this video showed up in my feed today. A few months ago I started to do pushups but reinjured my back. I'm finally strong enough to begin again, I will start again tomorrow morning. I'm 57 so it's going to be a nice challenge but I'm up for it. Whew!
When I was 25, I got up to 120. One set of that in the morning and another in the evening. I started only being able to do 20, but did as many sets as I could one day with short breaks between each set until I couldn't do even one. I took a week-long break to let the muscle soreness disappear, then started my twice-daily routine. Each week, I increased the set size by five, sometimes spending two weeks at a set size, but always eventually increasing until I peaked at 120. Unfortunately, I stopped for a long time, mostly owing to getting a physical job that often left me very tired at the end of the day. 17 years later, I can only manage maybe 30-40 at once.
I used to do push ups to only 3. More than that I feel like I am dying already. One day one of my close friends taught and encourage me do better and surpassed my limits. Now I can already do 30 push ups in the morning and anlther 30 in the evening in 3 sets, 10 reps each.
This is by far the best video about push ups that I ever have seen! I am fifty years old and have been doing pushups since I was 8 years old. My dad a military vet showed me how when he realized whoopings didnt hurt me! I still do 200 at least a day! 20-25 reps per set allows me to do as much as I want without over doing it! There are a lot of youtube fitness influencers that need to watch and listen to this video because their info is just wrong! Thanks for sharing!🙏🏼🤗
My advice 4 you is to do 10 push up while you do something like cleaning room, waiting for food to warm up, before showering, before you know it you will have done 100
I started off by barely being able to do 20 push-ups till failure, but I've been able to place myself during training to train the proper parts of my upper body in the proper way. Now, I'm able to do 85 in 1 set without rests, and use that as a monument to do other crazy challenges; my most recent one being 350 reps in under 50 minutes. Little things like this are what will take some of us to the point of high level calisthenics.
@@AnandKumar-gc2xt I tried to do 100 every other day (400 a week) for about 8-12 weeks. Most of the time, the 100s were in 10 by 10 sets. But as I progressed, I slowly made it to 20 by 5, then eventually 2 sets of 40 + a set of 20. This built basic muscular endurance so I could crank out my 85
You are still way stronger than someone who is unable to do 30 push ups ... its just a matter of time before u gain your strength back 💪...all the best!!
Its amazing how you can progress with pushups when you do them frequently. Try to squeeze in 1 or 2 extra before you fail even if its a bit wobbly, it does make a difference for next time
I'm on day nine of the 100 PU a day challenge for thirty days and I have to say I was originally doing 40 then 40 then 20, and I have switched to ten sets of 10 because I find I cant cheat as much, I don't get tired as much and it psychologically feels easier. Also, by "cheat" I mean doing a proper pushup, sagging butt, arms at 90 degree angle etc. When I push myself I tend to get sloppy is what I meant.
If you do 100 push ups a day, you probably won’t see any results because you don’t give your muscles enough time to recover. Your muscles take a lot of time to repair themselves. It’s better if you do 100 push ups every 2 days, and it’s also better if you do more complicated variations of push ups if you’ve already mastered the normal push up and can do at least 20 at once.
I am currently 17 and one year ago I reached 77 pushups in one set. But in the last year I hardly passed 35. I want to get back in shape this summer. I will again try 200 a day.
Been doing 100 push ups, 100 pull-ups and 100 dips , and 100 sholder raises with 15 pounds a day for 3-4 years now 3 to 4 days a week works perfectly for me 👌
I'm 14 and have been doing 100 pushups everyday from the past 6 months with no rest days and now, I can do 10-15 reps at once and complete the 100 pushups in 8-9 minutes
Right now i can do 90push ups at ago and not less than 350 per day different variations, each set 20 counts and 20seconds resting. I really enjoy doing this and whenever i do exercise i really feel good and it makes my day💪💪

You will be able to do push ups within 10 days . lncrease +1 push everyday . l guarantee u will be able to do 20 push ups straight in 30 days . (Note : do push ups which u are convenient with . l prefered diamond push ups more than normal cuz it is easy .) sorry for bad english
4 months ago, started with 2x10 with 1 min of planking, and walking 30 mins a day. I'm now at 5x15 plus total of 5 mins of planking and minimum 1 hour walk after work, plus I started going to the gym. I do not count my push-ups or planks as "gym workout" it's everyday without excuse. All this together, with thinking about what I eat, my body has changed more in the last 4 months than the last 5 years. Taking "self-control" is a reality when you set it as your goal.
Biceps engage during pushups...but not on the bench pess. Hand placement engages the upper back as well, so pairing pushups and pullups together can really thicken and develop your scapular muscles. When I used to body build, I would warm up with pushups, and burn out after overloading on the barbell
I am doing 17 Push ups times 5 per day at the moment, I retired at 63 and I am 69 now. My neighbor at the back of my home had an accident and I went over the wall easily due to adrenaline, but struggled to get back over the 6 foot wall and realized that I had lost a lot of my strength. That has galvanized me to become strong again, so for the last 12 days I have been exercising like mad. I ordered weights that will arrive in 2 days as well as protein powder. Sometimes one must just bite the bullet and get on with it.
Any workout day when you doing high endurance training like 100 reps of pushups in under 30 minutes etc. I recommend doing every other day. I am currently doing 100 pull ups every other days with super sets of dips. What I have personally noticed is taking a day off definitely help your body recover and that off day can be given to leg workouts or cardio exercises which will make perfect balance of your whole body.
Doing 100+ pressups and situps a day (along with dumbbells) dramatically improved my chest and arms over the past 10 months. I'd been doing bench press, squats, and deadlifts in the gym for a couple years before, running too, so I was already looking quite athletic (as I have to some degree since childhood) but this bodyweight stuff, and critically, committing to it over a long period, really changed my body shape for the better. Chest much fuller, shoulders wider, back wider (dumbbell rows help with this), arms thicker, striatus clearly showing, abs coming through more, especially when I flex. These changes were clear even after one month. It was surprising how much my body changed. My body seems to respond much more to consistent bodyweight and dumbbells exercises than heavier barbell ones. I can do about 30 pressups maximum in one go. Situps with proper form about 50 maximum. I do 2 sets of pressups followed by one of situps five times in 40 minutes to an hour. Pressups went well over 100 total per workout after about 1 month. Generally fluctuates around 125 to 160 per workout. Maximum was 165. I do not do it everyday, that lasted about 14 days, before going to every other day or so, but the improvement in body shape and strength continued.
I can do 20 proper push-ups in sets of 10 daily but... ...it's also important to do push-ups the right way. There are tons of TH-cam videos about the proper form of push-ups. It hurts like heck at first, but once your muscles are accustomed, not only do you get stronger but you look stronger. It's the old saying "no pain, no gain". Push-ups are worth it! 💪💪💪
@@sifuyavuz I wouldn't be doing too many push ups like the ones in the videos. there were a few with good technique but the others are putting to much stress on the shoulders, narrow hand placement works best and it ingages ur lower chest
I use to get out of bed and hit the deck and do 20 push-ups...go pee and start coffee then do 20 push-ups...feed my cat then 20 more...wake up my wife for work then 20 more...pour my coffee then 20 more. This was a 100 push-ups within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning.
I made a plan in 5 levels, from 3*15 to 3*35, with a increase of 5 reps monthly. Now I'm lvl 4, with 3*30 daily. I'm 50 year old, and I want to avoid overtrain and quit. The easiest set is not the first, but the second!! The plan also contain crunches and squats.
The answer in my case is not a lot, I train callisthenics and do well over 1000 push-ups a week as well as all the other training - burpees, pull ups, sit ups and many others and I see hardly any change in my body - I’ve been doing this 5 times a week for 2 years. I look good, but not ANYTHING like the people you see in these TH-cam and instagram channels. At the end of the day everybody has different genetics, some people benefit greatly, others won’t. Still, keep grinding it’s all good for your mental health. Follow Iron Wolf - That’s the training I do for reference. And you can see even with that MACHINE of a human, his body isn’t anything compared to the influencers out there.

I make sure I do 100 every single day not all at once but throughout the day I will reach 100 don't listen if someone says rest or your muscles need to recover that will make you lazy do it every single day you rest when you sleep
I got started from the beginning only 5 times at once and took a rest then Continue, but after one week I can do 10 to 15, later on 20 even 25 times at once, So, Push up is very helpful, now I do 💯 times every day it's going well about 30 days now, I feel very big different specially noticed from other people can say huge different. Thank you for this video and for your sharing. The benefits are ours.😊
I’m 19 at 153 pounds. I used to not even be able to do 10 push ups. Now I do over 500 push ups a day. My whole view on life has changed. The human body really is capable of more than you think.
im 53 now and i never messed around with doing curls for biceps i have broad shoulders a chest and big triceps so ive always done push ups or bench pressed, right now without doing any bicep work out my arm is 17 1/2 inches im sure i could get it to 18 inches but im injured bad from work blown disc's in neck and back so i have good days and really bad days, but my arms and the number of push ups i can do is still the same as when i was in my 20's i guess.oh well.haha so at 53 there is hope for all so keep it up peeps, laterz
I barely even reach 10 when I started. But after 2 months (home routine), I can do 60 in one set as I wake up. In the night before going to sleep, do 30 push ups, then jog for 25 mins, then another 30 push ups then go to sleep. I am a skinny guy and after my home regimen, my endurance increased, my muscles in the upper body gained mass, I don't get tired easily even after a whole day of work. It works wonder. Just start slow and steady. Your goal is to increase the number of push up you can do every day.
I’m 68 years old and I do 100 pushup M-W-F, 3-sets (40, 30, 30); then 3-sets of 10 pull ups; and 3-sets of core exercises. On T-H-Sat I do core exercises and 1 set of pushups and 1 set of pull ups. Sundays I rest. This routine keeps me toned. My focus is on form and doing each rep slow and intentional.
You would be surprised how the body responds to consistent, calisthenics over a long period of time combined with proper diet and nutrition--even as you age. Two years ago I couldn’t do one pull-up and now I can easily do three sets of 10. Worked my way up using bands. Push-ups were the same going from one set of 10 to three slow sets of 100 total. Core workout is the same. I didn’t think an older man could see this kind of progress. I truly believe the key is a continuous, habitual program. Simple but consistent… adding a few reps as you go. Body weight exercises are overlooked as a fantastic way to gain strength and definition. Of course diet is a big part.
One set for me can be thirteen push-ups. I used to do 250 push-ups a day long ago and chest waas on-point, yet largely BIG! Now when I train I can certainly reach to a hundred a day in sets of twenty to twenty five! Thanks for sharing. It's moivating!
I've been doing push-ups for decades. I can usually do 80 slow, deep push-ups in one set, either hands spread apart, or hands close in. I can do 180 faster, more shallow push-ups in one set, which will include a number done with one leg suspended off the ground, followed by the other. I used to be able to do more of the fast, shallow ones. I think I made it to 215 or 220 one time. That's tough to hit with any regularity. But hey. 180 is still good.
I started with a test years ago with how many I could do in 1 minute, it was 18 so I divided that in 3 so I did 5 sets of 6. Now 2 years into it I do 10 sets of 30 every morning.
I beg an to do pushups at age 11. Was doing 100 within 2 years. Won a Marine Corp company competition at 19 years old. Now at 72 years old, I have purposely backed off to 50 pushups three times a week and feel great.
I am 68, and I do 1 per year or 68 in a single set! I do notice that if I stop due to something like illness, my muscles start to shrink. It's harder to maintain muscle mass as you age!
Bro I want to lose chest fat by doing pushups. But I don't want to gain big shoulders and hands bcoz im already short.I don't want to look small and bulk. Can u advise me something? thank you
I can do 40 push-ups in one set, and in the past, i was doing like 60 push-ups in one set. the problem is when i do 60 push-ups. i probably leave training for a while and when i come back. i can't do 20 push-ups in one set, but absolutely training is great.
What I do and I tell people as well, is to do 5 push ups, 5 sit ups, 5 squats. Do this 6 days a week, rest on the 7th. It is best to do it before taking a shower so you condition yourself to sweat before showering. Then every month you increase it by 5. Within a year you are good to go with different variations of the same exercises. No need for gym. Just discipline.
Have started with push ups every day since more than 1 year, began w. 100 in 2021 Sept., 120 in 2022 and 140 in 2023 (always in 4 sets). Record continues! Besides, I go to gym for regular powerlifting trainings as well and I am soon 57.
The push up is my favorite exercise. It gives me a focused way of exercising. There are so many good benefits both in the body and mind when doing this kind of exercise.
9 months ago, I started with 5 pushups per set, then 10 rep’s, then 15 , then 20 And now I do 25 pushups per set. Total of 350 pushups in various ways declined, straight flat or in 8 count burpee’s form per day. Can’t stop won’t stop at 51 hurraaahh
I can do 100 Push-Ups. Just not all in one go. I basically do 5 push-Ups. Then I do 5 Sit-Ups, then I go back and do another 5 Push-Ups and do 5 more Sit-Ups. I constantly keep switching between them until I hit 100 on each exercise. Working 2 different muscle groups without resting, is a good way to up the intensity of your workout.

@@aasifshaik6356: The best push-up I would recommend for you, would be the Wide Hands Push-Up. This type of push up mainly focuses your chest rather than your arms and shoulders. Place your hands in a wider position, about double shoulder-width apart, puts more of the focus on your chest area rather than shoulders and arms. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about getting bigger hands because push ups won’t do that. You’ll just increase your pushing strength as well as getting the chest you want. Hope this helps.
@@aasifshaik6356: No you won’t have to worry about any injury because once you perform an exercise correctly, you shouldn’t experience any kind of discomfort. Now one thing I’ll say is if you decide to widen the push up, just keep in mind the wider your hands are the harder the push up will be. That’s why I’m saying only go as far as double shoulder width. But once again no once you perform the Wide-arm Push-Up correctly you won’t experience any injury.
I do it 30 in a day, by making it in 3 sets; 10 in the morning, 10 in afternoon, 10 before bed. When I feel stronger, sometimes I do 40 or 50 at most But I do it very slowly so all the involved muscles can really feel it in each count.
I’ve been all over the place with pushups. Never more than about 50 at once when I was in the army. Now it’s two sets of 10 twice a week. This is good motivation as well as the old people killing it in the comments.
@@idontcarei If you do 10 pushups every day, after four days, you'll end up with 40 pushups achieved. If you do those within seven days, you say 40 per week (40 a week). Often "a" is used in place of "per" which means "through, by means of" or simply "relative to each".
@@idontcarei A "rep" is short for "repetition". In exercise, a repetition is the execution of a specific movement or activity i.e. a bicep curl or a complete pushup. A "set" is a group of repetitions but it's more important than a mere grouping. Depending on your goals, you want to execute a specific number of repetitions in a specific number of sets with a given resistance e.g. 10 bicep curls of a 50lb dumbell plus a rest. Do that three times (three sets) for a total of three groups of 50 executions for that activity. Endurance exercises require a high repetition, low set number ratio with low weight resistance. Strength training is the opposite: high weight resistance, low reps and high sets. Hypertrophy (body building) is somewhere in the middle: about 10 reps, 3 sets of medium-heavy weight. I'm not sure if this information is current. It's been about 15 years since I read any books on the subject. Also, there are other types of exercises like skill building, plyometrics, and sports-specific activities (SEAL drown-proofing) that I am ignorant about. That's all I can offer. Beyond that, please visit a physical fitness subreddit. Thanks.
I started to do as many push-ups I can do a day for about 6-7 days now, I started at being able to do 12, to 17 in only 5 days, after the 5th day tho went tot the gym and maxed out my arms so they were weak so I haven’t shown an increase of my push ups cause my arms are still healing. @@Bojan28 congrats for that! Keep up the good work!
Try 300 push-up everyday for 1 month.
I like it.. sounds like a good plan of attack. Do it!
Currently am doing 100 pushups every day. 40 reps for the first set, 20 reps for the second, 15 for the third & fourth set, and finally complete with 10 reps
100 PUSH-UPS!!!!! 100 SIT-UPS!!!!! 100 SQUATS!!!! 10K RUN!!!! DO IT EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!

You a triple OG. Keep it up
You are the best!
You're an inspiration!
I'm glad this video showed up in my feed today. A few months ago I started to do pushups but reinjured my back. I'm finally strong enough to begin again, I will start again tomorrow morning. I'm 57 so it's going to be a nice challenge but I'm up for it. Whew!
Good luck! I am also thinking to start doing push ups at home beside my 3 times / week gym schedule.
Keep grinding
I used to do push ups to only 3. More than that I feel like I am dying already. One day one of my close friends taught and encourage me do better and surpassed my limits. Now I can already do 30 push ups in the morning and anlther 30 in the evening in 3 sets, 10 reps each.
Keep at it man, it's all about competing with yourself and being consistent, good work 👍
perfect timing to discover this video. thank you for the good work!!!
Totally agreed. The explanations are a model of clarity.
Little things like this are what will take some of us to the point of high level calisthenics.
how much time did it take to reach from 20 to 85.... i am currently at 35
@@AnandKumar-gc2xt I tried to do 100 every other day (400 a week) for about 8-12 weeks. Most of the time, the 100s were in 10 by 10 sets. But as I progressed, I slowly made it to 20 by 5, then eventually 2 sets of 40 + a set of 20. This built basic muscular endurance so I could crank out my 85
i read comments, and it makes mih inspired... to make efforts to do more pushups
I'm already doing 90 push-ups everyday so far n I'm increasing 5 to 10 push-ups a day, from beginning
Allah hu Akbar ,stay halal brother
Ha Before COVID I could do 75 and now only 30. Back to training this week.
You are still way stronger than someone who is unable to do 30 push ups ... its just a matter of time before u gain your strength back 💪...all the best!!
Its amazing how you can progress with pushups when you do them frequently. Try to squeeze in 1 or 2 extra before you fail even if its a bit wobbly, it does make a difference for next time
Right. Those wobbly ones create more stable ones as time goes on. Proper mindset.. carry on!
3:15 wrong I was told to have 45° angle between arms and body. 90° angle would hurt your shoulder
Facts….
I do 36 push-ups of 3 sets every other day. But I also do sit-ups.

How long does that take?
@@edgarjacc796 about an hour..im doing it right now as we speak 💪 😉
I'm up to about 300-350 a day now, doing them in sets of 30-50 depending on how quickly I get fatigued. When I first started I could barely do 20.
I really enjoy doing this and whenever i do exercise i really feel good and it makes my day💪💪
tip for beginners : do knee pushs for straight week . increase 2 push ups a day . after a week , u can do 4-5 push ups . if u cannot still do a push up , do knee push for more 3-4 days . You will be able to do push ups within 10 days . lncrease +1 push everyday . l guarantee u will be able to do 20 push ups straight in 30 days .
(Note : do push ups which u are convenient with . l prefered diamond push ups more than normal cuz it is easy .)

Push-ups, air squats & walking. Do everyday. Drink water only and you’ll get in shape.
I now do 4 sets of 30 push-ups each day! Couldn’t do more than 2 sets of 12 push-ups as at 3 weeks ago, but with consistency, I’ve improved a lot.
how much rest in btw.. try rest pause method
Push ups are worth it. Guaranteed!!! Try elevating your feet and switching up hand positions.
there is no right way to do it lol, as long as your ass isnt too high, it is a fine pushup, different kind of pushups works different kind of muscles.

I use to be addicted to doing push-ups and forgot about my lower body so yeah😂
You would of been bigger if you worked on your lower body first. I used to do what you did before an for a long time lol
5 days pushups and 2 days dips with proper intervals
doing this every day doesn't give the muscles time to repair themselves

I'm now doing 100 pushups a day but my solder is hurting , the left one hurt .
I started from 10 every day and after 1 month now I can easily doing 100 pushups 💪
Started today with 10 reps 😂
Wish me good luck! 🙏
Hope to not lose motivation ✊
I started with 1 with huge effort 5 year back, now i can do 40+40+40 push ups a day, with 5 minutes break between 2 sets
Are you really toned at that age? That's impressive, muscle mass starts decreasing significantly at that age. Respect
I hate myself for stop doing push ups everyday but after watching these videos I'm definitely going back to my push up routine
I did 100 push ups a day for 30 days. I definitely did see some improvements
I am 68, and I do 1 per year or 68 in a single set! I do notice that if I stop due to something like illness, my muscles start to shrink. It's harder to maintain muscle mass as you age!
Don't do push ups everyday! Do once every 3 days, our muscle need recovery to become bigger and stronger

@@deanlennon4604 won't i get injuries if I do wide hand pushups as they are not the perfect pushups.
But once again no once you perform the Wide-arm Push-Up correctly you won’t experience any injury.

means 40 a week? sorry not familiar with all the terms..
@@idontcarei If you do 10 pushups every day, after four days, you'll end up with 40 pushups achieved. If you do those within seven days, you say 40 per week (40 a week). Often "a" is used in place of "per" which means "through, by means of" or simply "relative to each".
@@Hexspa oh no 🙂..i think u misunderstood me ...what i meant was that i m not familiar with technical terms ..like sets reps etc ..thanks
Thanks.
