- We wanted to put a quick video together of a new bread knife we purchased to replace our previous one and we love using this knife. Our previous one isn't bad, but because we've been baking so much bread we found we needed a knife that's long in length and easy to use without crushing the bread and squishing the inside. Especially since we create content for bread and need to be able to showcase the crumb.
We've provided info below where we've purchased the knife in downtown Toronto (Ontario, Canada). Tap Phong site doesn't seem to have the black plastic handle version on their site so we've provided to the next best option.
We also share and discuss a new type of flour that we've come across recently at a market where there's someone from Grounded Pantry selling fresh milled flours locally provided by Farmers and Millers. We'll be sharing more about it in another video at a future date as we've been testing and trying out the different flours. We'll be looking to sell some breads made with these flours as we'd like to provide folks a delicious bread made with fresh milled flour that has no additives or bleached (un-refined).

Just ordered the 10 inch version with wooden handle. Received it today, its perfect, feels great to hold. I meant to say that I chose the wooden handle because I prefer the ergonomics of it, plus rosewood looks lovely and its timeless. I am very happy. Model 5.2930.26.

I have their 10" Fibrox chefs knife that replaced my 3rd Dexter/Russell, and the Vic is SO MUCH better, and was way sharper out of the box. My new fave knife brand.

Looks like the pastry knife. That’s why the blade is flexible. The classic bread knife has a thicker blade with a sharper serrated edge
Yes, the blade is a bit flexible, but definitely stiff enough to cut through Nadia’s crusty sourdough loaves. Which knife were you thinking of as a classic bread knife?
@@NadiaandRob I believe he was talking about the Victorinox Fibrox bread knife. This is their pastry knife but they have a similar looking bread knife in their line.
But the import thing is it's been working for you. And that sourdough looks (and sounds!) incredible!
