I like side plates, I seen to many soldiers in Iraq & Afghanistan take shrapnel or a shot in the side. My two greatest fears were always being shot in the face or in the side.
sounds like some healthy fears
Is it because when you get shot in the face if it doesn’t hit the brain stem you will still be alive to experience the pain and slow death while choking on your blood?
This. Wear your fucking side plates. If you feel lime you need a pc, you need side plates.
Side shots are probably the most deadly body shots you can take. Hunters specifically go for side shots because you can easily get both lungs and sometimes double lung and heart. Getting one lung perforated is one thing but both and it's basically guaranteed to be over.
@@1810jeffThis translates to stabbing or punching someone too since no matter how hard you train the sides of your body will always be a weak point
Will be adding this system to my Shaw Concepts ARC V2, thank you!
Thanks for the video and the content!
Awesome overview. 👌
Dope T-Shirt!
Modified pouch for 8x10 flexible rifle plate would be interesting
Wow cool!
Good video
Thank you😺
Using crye avs with spiritus side armour pouches with soft armour packs in it. Decided to buy a pair of 6x6 hard armour plates after this video. Thanks
How is it working for you on the Avs? And which cumberbund are you using?
@@terrandysart3587 working good, I’ve ordered custom soft armour packs for Large side packs. Using spiritus 3 band cummerbunds.
My plate carrier side AP plates are taller than the side pouches... I just had Korean lady sow in longer Velcro to fit plate...which brings coverage upto under armpit
Any plans for a 6x8 version?
I refuse to believe that's a 6×6 pannel he showed in the first part
6 by 6 inches
My significant other doesn't believe me either.
I refuse to believe water is wet.
Ive always run 6x8 hard in the weak side plate to the front and strong side to the rear. It stops blind spots from the front and back.
Might do that myself
Not a fan of adding more weight to my load
But I'm seeing more and more people with combat experience tell stories about someone getting hit in the side, and the importance of side plates
@@ch3cksund3ad having been shot, I really really don’t wanna get shot again. I may even get soft armor to go under it eventually. I recommend side plates if you can afford them 100%
I assume you'd use a 6x6 on the strong side?
That sorta lines up with a somewhat bladed shooting stance doesn't it?
And I guess it's less likely to obstruct a sidearm draw probably?
@@mghegotagun no the 6x8 is pushed up against the back plate on my strong side, and I’m partially bladed when shooting. I have a true north drop leg with safariland spacers maxed out.
@@ShepherdOfTheSilkies
So a 6x8 on each side isn't too bulky or cumbersome, is it?
I get wearing a side plate for forward on the weak side for rifle presentation. Is there good justifiable reasons for wearing side armor tword the rear on the strong side?
Always put mine a little further back not a big fan of side plates, comfortability is a big part in it but usually still wear them.
I wear mine in the SPC but what I hate about the hard plates is it makes side pouches almost unusable imo
@@totenfurwotan4478 I wear a JPC most of the time and if I find that side pouches get in my way I'll just use a sack pouch I recommend them. I would rather actually use a sack pouch then side pouches unless I 100% need side pouches.
I cant find any armor that fits even looking at those two companies mentioned, do you have the names of any products so I can search them up?
Hey Adam, what combination of placards are you running on the front of your carrier in this vid? I really like that setup but can’t find a way to replicate it
Looks like a Mk5 with BFG triple elastic mag pouch on the front and some TQ pouches on the sides of the Mk5.
It’s not blueforce I’m nitpicking but it’s a new spiritus elastic prototype but blueforce will work perfectly.
So, if I'm understanding this right this means that if you only have 6x6 then you don't need a cap?
Yes.
Do the side armor bags come with the caps? Or are they sold separately
caps are sold separately as there our 4 sizes of caps.
HELLO SPIRITUS,
WILL YOU ONE DAY MAKE THE
5.56 x 45 ELASTIC PLACARD STACKABLE ON THE MK5 ? SORRY FOR FULL CAPS just wanted to get my question out there.
I've some photos of prototypes out there
Give it like 6 months or so and probably. If you want something similar, get the Blue Force Gear triple mag elastic pouch.
Any restock of Jsta and Nalgene colorways?
Is all hard. All the time
If it's hard for more than four hours you should see a doctor
@@pouuko7656damn beat me to it
where the hat from?
