    I went with an Active Autowerke Single Midpipe. About 1500 bucks shipped. No drone or rasp, fits perfect, it's got enough volume to make the car more fun to drive, but it's not loud enough to be obnoxious. With the valves closed it's still virtually silent like OEM, so perfect for hauling kids and family.

    I have some recommendations for the mods! Mostly for the exhaust
    My personal favourite is the R44 Performance exhaust, and then the Valvetronic full titanium exhaust, AWE is pretty good too
    The Valvetronic sounds like a Nissan 370Z and R35, sounds amazing
    The R44 Performance exhaust retains the original exhaust note of the engine but enhancing it and has a lot of burbles when you let off the Throttle, no unnecessary pops and bangs in either of them.
    I would highly recommend you check them out.
    and another small side note if you're interested in an intake, I would say go for the Eventuri intake if it's available in USA.

    I’m about to cross 40k on mine. We share many of the same sentiments regarding these cars and the current state of M division. And I couldn’t agree more about this being a great daily driver. Sidenote… my first BMW/M was a 97 M3 in Boston Green. I’m interested to hear your thoughts as your ownership progresses and look forward to your other vids. As for mods, I highly recommend mid pipe(s) from PSI or Active Autowerks, deletion of secondary cats (they don’t have sensors like the primaries) and keeping the stock muffler. Add a Dahler flap mod for full control and you’ll get factory quiet when closed, but a deep and pronounced sound when opened. I’m going to add a Racechip to mine at some point, but I’ve heard good things concerning JB4, BootMod, and Carbone. Hope this helps.

    So far 1 week with my 2023 M3 manual the two biggest complaints are the shifter feel i just do not like it compared to all my other sports cars. The steering is very hard to get use to because the wheel does not return back to center like most cars and this annoys me have you noticed that? I will be posting an update video later this week on my channel and i will try to show this on the highway how the steering wheel sorta gets stuck and doesn’t return back to center.

    This is super valuable mate. I am in the market for one of these and it's hard to find casual reviews of the manual edition. It sucks that you can't get the manual and AWD together. We live in a mountainous area (Pacific NW) and RWD is not ideal. Do you have any insights into RWD and bad weather driving? I know California doesn't have these problems but it has got the Sierras. in terms of exhausts, i’ve heard great things about the AWE switchpath, but is pretty quiet since it keeps the secondary cats, and the Active Autowerke single midpipe sounds great in videos as well.
    as for tuning, carbahn is local to me and are stand up guys, but don’t get much notoriety on youtube since they like to edge on the safer side for a tune. brought my c63s in for some service work a couple weeks ago and they let me listen to their prototype catback as well. can send a video of it it to you if you’re interested in that as well haha

G80 all day over the G82 for practicality and IMO aesthetics. I think the 4 door looks better. The rear quarter panel on the G82 is so large your eyes just get lost on that panel. The G80 rear quarter panel looks more taut and the rear fender looks more pronounced IMO.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts but there is something I don’t understand - what’s the issue with having more equipment/luxury features? Why should a sports car/sporty car be poorly spec’ed? I understand some of the visual disadvantages like the digital cluster, electronic handbrake, single piston rear calliper, but why would you possibly not want a power trunk or say it’s not “M” to have one? Creature comfort doesn’t deter from the performance that this car offers. Otherwise we might as well have no power windows, no heated seats or steering wheel, no A/C..

    • @Buttaknife
      @Buttaknife ปีที่แล้ว

      I said the exact same thing. Additionally, I'm almost positive it doesn't come standard. The trunk is part of a package upgrade. If you don't want it, don't get it... Lol

    Do you rev-match manually on downshifts ? If so, does this new, small, digital rev-meter make it harder to figure out where to "land" the revs ? (because it is not only small, but shows the revs in increments of 1000rpm as opposed to old analog rev-meter which showed 500rpm increments).

    • @caradd2967
      @caradd2967  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      NGL, I like the auto rev match feature. Been using it a lot. In terms of the digital gauges I don't like them but I don't think they limit your ability rev match on your own.

    Jb4 is the way to go, had it in my Supra and it worked like a dream.
    Do a resonator delate and a downpipe, see what you think about it, exactly what I did with my Supra and it sounded really good afterwards.
    Few months later got a $3500 Boostlogic exhaust and tbh the $200 resonator delete sounded better and didn’t rattle like the exhaust system did👍🏼

      Supra & M3 have 2 completely different exhaust systems/engines, what sounds good on one won’t always sound good on the other. For these G80s you really have to go single mid pipe, whether it’s Valvetronic, AA, etc. in the same way F80s need equal length Midpipe to sound adequate.

    Good vid. However, I am confused by a few of your statements. You mention the purity of the car and talk about some of the convenience features of the car... but the auto trunk, your HUD, and the cooled seats are optional. So unless you bought a dealer ordered car, you picked that yourself.
    So the state of "M"? Kinda of harsh for your own decisions.

    • @caradd2967
      @caradd2967  ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought this off the lot, didn't spec it. the fact these are options on "M" cars still speaks to the fact these are just fast luxury cars and not real motorsport cars. hope you arent confused anymore, these arent the Ms of the past.
