I know I've said it before but I don't think I've ever witnessed someone who works and delivers so consistently and with such great quality in the way that you do. I really appreciate all that you do. I was not really a car person per se but you definitely got me interested in cars and when I have the funds I want to get a project car just to work on for fun.

The glow of the amber around toward the back is really cool, but overall I like the black better. They really are cool and make your Bronco stand out. Awesome addition. If I ever need wiring done, I want you to do it, very skilled and the end result is professional/OEM, not shortcuts or other BS. Great job.

Lost my mind when you revealed the aux switches, cool AF. Those lights and the install is practically OEM, real professional job. I think the amber covers would look cooler if you painted the tabs gloss black to match the rim of the of the lights.

Great call on the catch can , the ideal lighting would be with the addition of a 4th light . Move the outside ones as far out as possible and have two in the center . Put the amber cover on the outside lights and clear in the center wired on a different switch . This will give you amber for dust and inclement weather also cornering . The center clear will add to your down the road forward lighting .

For the front PIAA lights, would look sick to have just one in middle with dust cover and leave the side lights black. IMO. Also, when you get your winch, if you use the amber ones, I would get some amber colors in your winch to tie the front color scheme together. Again, IMO.

  • @pm_davidjones
    @pm_davidjones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What if you got a couple of sheets of Rosco photographic gels and cut them to fit the lenses? This way you get the color you want, and keep the grills over the lights to match the grill of the Bronco. They have a dizzying array of colors to choose from, but the one called CTO (Color Temperature Orange) is a pretty standard color correction filter used in photographic lighting that will make those LEDs amber. They are very heat resistant. Pro photo strobes are crazy hot when they fire. Best of both worlds... Orange under the grills.

Looks amazing Sarah! I too am torn 50/50 on those lights. In the "off" state, in an illuminated area like your garage, I think the black grills work better. But, in the "on" state in complete darkness, those amber gels will look amazing. I guess amber would have a slight advantage for the oncoming drivers, too, on those occasions you forget they're on. Love the pseudo-factory cleanliness of it all, and kudos to Ford for making the wiring so easy. Props to your catch can sponsor too! 👍️

Sarah, Keep the original guards on the lights, the crossbars, font location and design is why they are a match for the front of your grill. Save the amber covers for wheelin' in the snow. They don't reflect off the snow, making the lights more effective, should yo find yourself in the snow at night.

It’s hard to decide between the amber and clear what if you did Amber on each side and left the center clear kind of the best of both worlds wonder how that would look. Nooooooo!!!!!! All three should be clear with the black guards. A mixture of covers would just look too weird. Alternatively, fitting an amber film to all three lights while retaining the black grills and PIAA text would also look nice (although I’m uncertain if the amber would aid off-roading in AZ like they would in snowy climates).

You kept calling them "fog lights" and I was wondering why you were mounting them so high. The purpose of fog lights is to get under the fog which is why they're mounted low on vehicles. Then I looked at the box in the video again and see that they're actually driving lights which should be fine where you have them.

If I was that conflicted, I’d either make only the center light amber, or more likely keep the white light center and have the two outer lights be amber. This also gives you the best of both worlds from a lighting perspective, the brightness of the white light(s) for 90% of weather conditions with amber for fog/snow conditions.

  • @mikeadams9194

If you actually have fog in Pasedena (or wherever you live) the orange will work way better. White light just reflects back off fog, whereas orange shines through it. Of course if the fog is limited to a certain time of year put the orange on then and have black the rest of the year, because black rocks.

Like the clear with the bars, they match the grille so well. Love your Bronco.

That center bar attachment is andicative of the front bumper of a 1957 to 58 Plymouth. The most famous of which is Christine.

Picked up my new 2024 Big Bend today, in no small part because i value Sarah's opinion. Proper 2-door with the manual. Only option is the Ford blue. I love it, but prices are insane now.

Regarding light covers, just carry them all and use the right tool for the job as needed. Regular grill when out in bad weather or tooling around trails by yourself, amber when on an off-road adventure with other vehicles and dusty conditions. The amber cuts through those conditions better.

I like both but I give a slight edge to keeping the lights clear since everything matches well that way. Just like that look a little better.

As a couple of others have commented, the amber lens are supposed to reduce the glare reflected back towards the driver by fog, rain, snow and dust. So you might consider that in addition to the aesthetics.

9:39 If thats electrical tape on the end of your braided line connected to the existing factory PCV fitting, I would suggest using shrink tube instead. It will last much longer.

It’s actually F4 tape, it’s a product I used a lot in the Air Force and works similar to heat shrink in a way, but without applied heat. It’s designed for applications like this.

I have several subscriptions that I follow on TH-cam, but nothing beats having a new Sarah -n- Tuned video! Thanks! Oh yes, I prefer the original clear with black covers.
