Rean knows all the forms of 8th Leaves, unlike other users who use mainly 1 form. Right now Rean only mastered the 7th form but Cassius said back on CS4 that he has the potential to master all forms and go beyond 7th.

Putting gameplay aside. Whenever Rean successfully lands a blow with his tachi it is heavily implied he always hits his opponents with the back of his sword.

This is because Kun-Fai focused on helping rean overcome his problems with his Ogre Power. None of the moves are of "Void", but how one can clearly manage all the forms. It's not like the idea of a spiritual focused martial art is a new thing.

But don't get me wrong, I really like Estelle when she appears in Steel 4, she is just as bright as her name lol, I'm gonna go play her game next.
I liked termination blade the most. And quite honestly, his last s craft is too lengthy and repetitive to look cool. Though I do believe the philosophy behind the s craft is excellent. The accumulation of all his crafts separated into 8 different slashes. Truly a great way to complete the 8 leaves one blade style.
Some_Otaku_Nerd I am with you. I have a lot of ideas for his moveset. I wonder if he was in smash if he would have a gimmick to summon Valimar or to transform in his ogre form. I am sure he would have at least one of those gimmicks but not sure if they would pick both of them or just include one as a gimmick.

Never thought Rean's voice actor is the one who voiced Banagher Links in Gundam Unicorn (and reprised his role in Gundam Narrative).... And his S-Craft looks awesome too... I never play this game and didn't follow this game that much, but I'm glad to know that he deserved a good ending after everything he went through.

Everyone talking about breaking dawn but no one mention how his shredded leaves keep improving since CS3. The first shredded leaves did not have doubles of himself. Then the technique itself changes in CS4 and Hajimari
Even though order wouldn't make sense. I can easily see all of his S-crafts used in one fluent motion. Termination Slash - Dusk -> Azure Flame Slash -> Termination Slash - Dawn -> (Charges @ enemy) 7th Form, Shredded Leaves. I know TS - Dusk isn't the finisher but you have to admit that Shredded Leaves at the end is the same way he sheaths his blade after a battle via victory screen/pose.
In fact, Rean's S-craft in part II is somehow a forced made-up version of the game makers, because [Termination Slash 終ノ太刀] is the ultimate attack of the Eight Leaves One Blade style, only achievable when the user has reached sword saint and proceed to merge ALL attacks he has learned into one move, forging the unique attack that symbolizes the user himself. In other words, Termination Slash (or should have been translated precisely as Final Blade instead) would be the result of a grown-up Rean's years of training after the final war, not the young version one. Another similar example is Cassius Bright. His S-craft attack when he became sword saint is Phoenix Wave, but after giving up his sword and equip a Bo Staff for 20 years, he came up with a stronger S-craft tempered through time that only he can make the most out of it: [Wheel of Time 太極輪], his own version of [Termination Slash 終ノ太刀] that which he later taught Estelle.
Maybe his master slipped and just teach him the most difficult craft ever and Rean naively think he is still on Beginner Level but his Master is joking around him about him still Beginner, lol.

When I play the CS3, in the message of his master, he said that he teach Rean the 7th Form of the Eight Leaves. He said something about Void and the 7th form will be the final and last form of the Eight Leaves. He thought Rean that, and probably Termination Slash - Dawn is named like that as it's one of the skill used in 7th form. If 7th form is the final set of all form, then it's probably Rean has mastered it since the beginning but he is too humble to say it loud. I mean he still say he us a beginner everytime anyone asking him about it which particularly means Rean is lying and doesn't want to talk much about it and it hurts other's pride.

While other schools like Arseid school only have 1 way to reach "sword saint" level, the Eight Leaves have 8 (yes, each and every branch is capable of reaching the sword saint.) If you wonder what's sword saint level, it's similar to reaching lv 20 in D&D. Statistically you might not be so different from lv 19, but the real performance difference would be huge. Like D&D said, each of them is a living legend. Worse, when you reach sword saint level, you'll be able to apply your understanding in almost every other fields and still able to waltz through the subject with ease. Like Cassius Bright, he applied his understanding of First Form, Helix (whirlpool / round movement) into military planning and succeded in stalling the Empire attacking Liberl for 100 days, until they had to retreat. His "Phoenix Wave" was the ultimate move at the time, his "Final Blade", just like Arios MacLaine's Final Tachi "Black Emperor". Only after using a Bo Staff for 20 years did he come up with a new "Final Blade" called "太極輪" that was mistakenly translated into "Wheel of time". Since each stance can propel one into sword saint, there are no "best" stance. The "void" stance he mastered was just "hard" since it's more about "mind training" and not "skill training". Yun Kafei taught him that to counter the "curse" in his heart. Any other stance would be less effective. He didn't say that "void" is the strongest of all stances, just the hardest and most suitable to Rean, that's all. Back to the topic, Final Taichi is a move that you can't gain after becoming a sword saint, and then "merge" everything you've learned into 1 move, like forging an ultimate attack. It takes a sword saint's skills, experience, efforts and time to make one. It's not a "finished" version once it's been created, but can be continued to upgrade to higher level once a sword saint learn something new and proceed to merge it into his "Final Taichi". That's why I said Rean at 3rd had no possibility of using one. It's all a game maker's joke. Doesn't suit with the Series' settings and history.

He will always look for the best solution to resolve things peacefully. 😇😇 There have been times when he did try to kill, example during the ending of CS3 when Million died, he was gonna try to kill Osborne & Alberich. However at that time he was under(Spoiler Warning) Ishmelga's influence, who was already the most evil being on the series & casually called the Devil by some fans due to the nature of its character.
Rean said in CS1 that he was taught the 'katas' for all forms in those 5+ years of training, in fact every 8L1B beginner probably knows the basic katas, yet Rean could only pull off Autumn Leaf Cutter and Flame Slash in actual combat. Think of it like knowing a bunch of Street Fighter chain combos but not being skilled enough or fast enough to pull them off against an opponent who fights back.
